    Hi. Great content in this video. I just wanted to mention that everyone who is interested in joining a Greek sorority or fraternity as a grad is not doing so because they were unable to as an undergraduate. Some people actually chose not to join as an undergrad for a variety of reasons. I say this because of all the videos out here on this subject, it seems everyone assumes that those who join graduate chapters do so because they had no other choice, but I never hear anyone speak to the fact that for some, and perhaps for many, joining as a graduate is actually their preference. Keep making excellent videos!

    • @KelsTells
      @KelsTells  5 лет назад +8

      Angela Celeste May I definitely agree that some people choose to join an alum chapter based on their preferences. Thank you for your insight!

    Thank you so much for this video. I just moved to NYC after completing my master's degree and always wanted to join a sorority. I'm afraid that because I'm new to the state and don't know anyone directly in the chapter that I will miss an opportunity to join if possible. I am planning to attend the chapter events that are open to the public. But, I am afraid that if I reach out to a graduate chapter in my area, there are about 5 in my surrounding area btw, that they will think I'm not showing discretion and not want to reply to my message. I'm appreciative of your honesty and that you brought up the need to reach out along with attending events. I never really considered that they may be as interested in me as I am with them. I was actually scared that being out of school was a disadvantage because unless I knew someone directly in the chapter, they won't notice me. I am going to take your advice and reach out. Would you be willing to do a video that goes further into do's and don'ts of expressing interest in graduate chapters?

    I was not planing on joining a sorority even though I grew up around it. It wasn’t until my niece told me that my sister would cry and be so proud if I joined her sorority, that I was determined to finish my 4 yr degree and join. Since she didn’t tell me this herself, I’m sure it will be more of a surprise when I tell her myself. Thank you for the information, I’ve got some research and planning to do!!

    Thank you so much for the information. I wanted to be in a sorority since I grew up. I remember when I was young my grandmother was in Eastern Star and so was I. I remember going to the meetings on Saturday and doing a lot of community service. I loved what I was doing for the community. I am now in the medical field and I still love what I am doing for the community. I just don't know what organization I want to join. Your video gave me a lot of insight and I really appreciate it. I heard other videos and I am not the one who wants to join to be seen. I want to join because I want to give back and help others like I have been doing for years.
