I concur with everything you have stated. The graduate level is about working. I remember one of the influencers stating that her sorority does not just need T-shirt wearers. All of the D9 is about service. As you stated learn about the positions within your chapter. They want to pass the torch to those who can further the foundations of the sisterhood. Also don’t stop studying the history of your sorority. We must remain lifelong learners in this capacity as well. I am a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and I take pride in presenting myself as a Finer woman! Much love to you, always my Sister Greek. 😍
@Kim Melikian Wow. 10 years! That's saying something about your determination. Keep volunteering with the organization that you're interested. Make certain they have your name to invite you to activities. I agree that it's a mystery to me to go through the process of becoming a member & then 1 or 2 years later to drop out unless something totally unexpected happened. I do understand that life has a way of changing our intentions. Best wishes to you!
@ 3:00 - Keep giving the great advice Indy. As they say Deference is key. Another saying is "You are ALWAYS wearing your letters" Very important thing to keep in mind.
I have a quick question. I want to join a perspective, organization, grad chapter. I have my bachelors degree but I am currently getting my masters degree. When I am ready to join my prospective organization. Will they look at my bachelors and my masters or just my masters degree?
I recommend checking your organization's requirements for graduate membership. Minimum eligibility requirements are clearly defined on their membership page. Check my videos on how to navigate their membership websites
Hi Kells so I have started attending events and also doing community service which is required for intake for the Sorority I am interested in. Oh and it’s a gradchapter I am interested in joining.
Hello my name is Sage, I wanted to ask how does someone navigate if they don’t know anyone within that organization and looking to join grad chapter? Also should they still attend the interest meeting even though they don’t know anyone within that chapter?
Hello! I have a full playlist on how to navigate graduate membership in addition to getting to know the members. There’s nothing wrong with attending an interest meeting if you don’t know anyone, but I encourage building relationships beforehand. It becomes essential over time.
Thank you for this grad focused video. I love your content. I’m hopeful this is the year for me!
