My mic on go pro was terrible when recording and when I edit my videos, it sounds different on my computer than it does when I download it. Trying to fix the issue with wireless mic for recording now.
You have totally lost your mind! (But haven't all of us Gold Fever folks?? I know I have!) 😂. Been prospecting for 40 years now and this was by far one of the most remote ideas I've seen. I love your presentation and truth of the matter type explanation of the outcome. Keep it up! 👍
1st time viewer, not bad young man. I watched a similar video a couple of years ago on what you're doing, and they pretty much had the same results . Keep up the great work. 👍
I've found tube sand to have quite a bit, plus fossils and gems. It's wild what's inside store bought stuff. The tube sand was like $5. So worth the fun. Cheers
Yippers, there be gold in Home Depot sand👍 The sand comes from local sources as the shipping would be very high to ship very far. I know because I have had beach sand shipped to me from 1000 miles away. So if you live in gold country, your chances of finding gold are good. Also check out Lowes or any other big box store. Also some bags at different levels on the pallet will have better gold. Lowes has tube sand for putting in your car in the winter that can have a lot of gold in some bags. Also check different pallets over the year as the stores buy from different sources over the year. Stores in different towns may have bags from different sources. It’s a gamble as some bags have quite a bit and some have very little. But it’s just like prospecting.😄 So hang in there and Happy Prospecting.
I looked up garnets last year, the real small ones are used in some sanding and grinding disk was going for $20 to $25 dollars a pound. not sure about now. I will have to look it up again. I know it takes a lot of them to make a pound, but considering most paydirt, creeks, and rivers have garnets it wouldn't really take to long to save them up.
You made me laugh thank you call home depot I'm on page. LOL. Csnt wait to see you on the creek. Hay it's got to be worth the bag of sand. LOL. BLESSINGS my friend blessings
This video was a fast edit and all the music was done as a joke, except the music drowning out my voice. That was just bad editing. I know this video was done bad, I thank everyone for pointing that out, but I really didn't think I would get more than 50 views on this. I am doing another video of me panning out sand from home depot, but doing a Lowes sand vs. Home Depot sand challenge. Stay tuned for the 2 part challenge..........part 1 will be out by this weekend.
I found flower gold after sluicing an entire bag and then running the tailings across a Miller table. The flower gold and the micro sand are so minut, it's impossible to separate them. 👍
in 2018 my wife and I went on vacation to Alaska and at Fairbanks there is a tourist trap called "Dredge #8" where everyone is given a small bag of paydirt to pan out. Between the two of us we got 37.00 worth of gold at the spot price of 1252.00 per oz. Don't know the weight of the gold, they just told us what it was worth. At today's spot price of 1922.00 it would figure out to 56.00 if I did the math right. There's no way to compare the size of your pieces to the one's we got, but a wild guess would be about 1/33, if that was anywhere close it would be worth 3.39. Good job. It's fun to feel the anticipation of what you might find. Guess that is what they call "GOLD FEVER".
I bought a bag back in July on Amazon for the first time ever and totally got ripped off getting $6 worth of gold for 25 bucks, but got the fever ever since..... this was more for fun than anything, I was shocked I got anything.....
Home Depot sand is locally sourced where possible. If there isn't gold in your local hills, no gold in the sand. In Reno Nevada, and the northern west coast, almost worth the effort.
I have a theory on this sand. I've watched several videos from years ago where those that panned the quickcrete sand and found gold. Lately no one has been finding gold in it, at least the videos I've seen lately. my theory is that either the quickcrete company or the ones that they get the sand from has been removing the gold before it gets bagged. Just subscribed to your channel looking forward to watching your videos.
It’s worth it if you buy all the sand bags, poke a hole in them, drain all the sand, process it for gold, keep the gold, fill the bags back up, return them… maybe send the bags off to China and pay for them to do for .01¢a day…
I love your set up. How do I set up something like what you have? Can you list your equipment set up and pump and any tips on how to... do what you have. Thank you.
I really just watched other people on RUclips and been going off those videos. I used pictures planks for the box and had a pond pump in my pond I use. Then I went and bought pvc pipe end caps, a hose that would fit the pipe, a valve to control the water flow . The sluice mats were a pain. I made a mold out of mold clay and used silicone in tubes to make the mats. It took quite a few attempts to make a decent mat.
Depending where the sand comes from. Sand is regionally sourced from local sand and gravel mines, and that is inconsistent at best. I've had some sand that had gold and some that didn't. Even the amount of black sand varies. Long and short of it, it's a crap shoot.
I've done this a few times with home depot sand I've struck out most times 1 time I even went to a gravel yard nearby here in Southern Cal and ordered a 1/2 a ton of sand ran through my gold cube did not find one piece but I know many people who have done this periodically and gotten good gold others have done it now and then and gotten a pinch here and there or a flake here and there still worth the try even saw a video with Jeff Williams doing this and Tom massey from the GPAA they all got gold so it's possible keep trying folks heavy pans you all
I think the bigger stones are in there because it's concrete mix which is sand, gravel and cement. I've seen people get minute amounts of gold in only bags of sand but for how much work it is it's just not worth it. You would be better off going and collecting sand from a beach ❤️💛💚👍
I live in the country south of San Antonio, all of the ground here is sand, there are several sand plants around my area, the sand is about 5-6' deep then it hits clay, I might have to try this with sand from the yard.
Its about the adventure not the payout? It looks like panning sand will pay about $2 per hour. For that matter i wonder if i could just pan the dirt in my back yard?
In theory if you shack the bag and just run the bottom quarter of the bag that is where any gold would be and cut your time way down. But that is very interesting.
Find you some Astro turf. 3/8 old turf if you can find some. Will have a flatter surface. It's a mat with 100.000s of ripples. It will catch all the gold and black sand. Just need a foot of grate in the too of the box. To hold the mat in ...
If the sand is from the Tracy ca plant I guarantee it has fine gold in it. Oh, turn down the music in the background it’s too loud compared to dialogue.
I remember seeing this done before not economical or profitable cool video. To solve any issues in the future I will make sure that you material is pretty wet and saturated. When you dumped it in the dryer but time it's wet it's already at the end of the line. The wet stuff will hit the bottom and stick and have to be pushed and forced down with water current allowing it to travel the length of your sluice on the bottom instead of the top of the water.
Thank you all for the comments! I am on a cruise right now in St. Maarten and when I get back home I respond to all of your comments and suggestions, but I wanted to thank you all for sending me comments.
Those are some nice sized pieces considering the source. Usually people only find fine flour gold in sand bags. Our yard is all sandy soil and it is full of fine flour gold. About one flake per shovel full. I am working on ideas to mine it efficiently. The biggest problem is the sandy soil does not hold water so a pond for a highbanker is not possible here.
@@timothys8636 Not sure what you mean. I am referring to a typical garden shovel. There is a layer down a foot deep where the rocks are. I get a flake per hand shovel down there.
Nope..... not even close! That's why I started this channel, to document my journey on being a rookie at this and see how I progress and if I can progress at this new hobby I've started. Thanks for watching!
ha, i actually laughed out loud. Now that I think about it.. of course you did. Think of all the other metals you tossed aside: platinum/aluminum/silver/copper/iron... and even diamond. If you really want a mind blower, check out Micro Fossils that people have taken pictures of on the net... BEAUTIFUL stuff.. like gems and geographic art. When getting stream small rock did find some tiny bits you need a pair of reading glasses but the park where I go it’s lime stone everywhere southern mn lots of river down here would be the Minnesota river oh yes black sands are good
@katielyb not gold, it's mica which makes a gold like shine . if you look at it under microscope you can see the difference....plus it floats around, gold is much heavier
I don't know what tube sand is but I bought a bag of the Quickstep all purpose sand and thats what I found. Had small pebbles in it as well as black sands so it was ideal for finding gold if gold was in there. I am sure its a 1 out of 20 shot for gold but it was in the one I bought....
I used liquid nails to glue them and put silicone caulk around to seal it. It worked really well but the silicone started to peel off the board so I just resealed it and it seems to be working fine
Those pay dirt companies have just found a way of making the same money they might have done, without the work - which they are selling out to hopeful people.

Where are you located? I live in St.Charle a half mile from the Missouri River we find a ton of flower gold. I can send some pictures if you want.

You can find Gold in every sack of sand. Maybe not enough for a house payment. But maybe enough for a meal.
yep I was yelling at you "that's Garnets"
I could have sat and watched paint dry all day. Instead I came here and wasn’t disappointed.
That's pretty cool! Great for practicing!

Fun! Makes me wonder if Home Depot gravel or pea gravel might have gold riding along with the grit found in those bags.
Home Depot sand is locally sourced where possible. If there isn't gold in your local hills, no gold in the sand. In Reno Nevada, and the northern west coast, almost worth the effort.
I know of a sand pit. And yes they wash the sand. Then they sell the cleaned sand. And yes they get a lot of gold.

No. It's sand. QuickCrete is a brand name.
Cool video! I've wanted to try this, never got around to it. Might not be much gold but at the very least it'll help improve panning skills
I bought it to test my sluice box and mats I built...
I live in the country south of San Antonio, all of the ground here is sand, there are several sand plants around my area, the sand is about 5-6' deep then it hits clay, I might have to try this with sand from the yard.

Good music !
Its about the adventure not the payout? It looks like panning sand will pay about $2 per hour.

did u ever get any other material sacks from the hardware ?
That largest piece is HUGE for those sand bags. Usually, only flour.
Really impressive. Thanks!

I believe the quick Crets is filled from Michigan gravel queries so would contain possibly glacier till materials
Pay attention he said it's from georgia.not MI.
I want to see the extended 3 hour directors cut ✂️ for this video.
Sort through the bags of sand at the store to find the ones with more iron in them.
Paydirt buckets are similar to repackaged sports cards. Searched goods.
So, where does Home Depot get there sand from?
Left you a thumbs up.
thank you for that

Of course they sift through the sand. But most they get. Others they leave it .
