Best easy to understand video for 9.5" drums I've seen. I like that it is to the point with no B.S. Wish I had watched this before I did my brakes as it would have saved me a lot of frustrations. Thanks for the excellent video!

Excellent. For those watching, be aware at 5:00 that the red spring between the 2 pads feeds through with the wire hook to the top above the sprocket wheel. For the opposite drum, it is not only facing the other way but inserts opposite. Otherwise, the end hook will foul the sprocket teeth on one side, found only when done and trying to adjust, and all from following a different 'professional' guide online. In the video the hook goes into the pad from the top, the opposite drum is not only facing the other direction, but needs to start from the back, not the top as well.

I can't believe so many of these videos don't explain to fit the shoes to the drum first. New shoes ten to rock too much and will contribute to a spongy brake pedal. You can bend the shoes to allow only a rise of .030" on the opposite end of the shoe as you hold one end down in the drum. This is a standard procedure in competent shops. People that are watching this should pay attention to my instruction.

Oh yea it's super easy laying on a table where you don't have gravity pulling all the parts to the ground.
Try doing it on a vehicle where gravity is your arch enemy.

@@carnut7615 C-clip is for another style of brake. The emergency brake lever on the other style has a stud that passes through the primary shoe and the c-clip hold the lever in place. FYI: on this second style of brake, there is a spring washer that goes on this stud and is positioned between the lever and the shoe. I don't think the spring washer is included in the kit.

It looks like the drum spreader/spacer bar is on the wrong way. All the other pictures and videos I have seen have the hump side going away from axle. Is this a mistake? Does it matter which way the bar goes?

Excellent video. Do you sell the brake tools? Sure beats trying to stretch a spring with three screw drivers: one in your mouth and two in your hands! Used you guys for replacement brake lines for a vintage Dodge truck. Excellent quality. Those GM 9.5" 14 bolt rear ends are not that common anymore. I was fortunate to find one. Thanks.

Do you have the part number & a link to your store?
I guess it’s the same size shoe to?
The cylinder on passenger side fits really loose with the clip just seems to loose to me other side doesn’t move as much. But if I’m going to change the backing plate I rather have bolt on cylinders.
      Thanks for your help
