I just ordered one yesterday. Always wanted a microtech but couldnt justify paying over $300. $175 is totally doable and seems like a great deal for usa made
The pivot is 8mm and the bearing has 16 balls, 2 rows of 8 (staggered). These bearings are larger than anything else I have. Most are 5mm or 6mm.The blade thickness also matches it's size. Most other knives skimp on the thickness of the blade stock. The MSI is a few points of an ounce lighter than the Kizer Beglieter XL despite having a thicker blade. I really like mine too, but I'm running out of super glue closing of all the cuts. Trying to consistently do the rude finger flick to open the knife has proved a little painful. Oh, and the scales are grippy even with blood on your hands... True story.
I get where you were going by saying that MSI is a budget USA made knife but I would have to pretty strongly disagree there when there are companies like Kershaw that make some knives in USA that are really truly budget USA knives. The MSI I would say is more on the lower middle price range. But I absolutely love the knife I have the g10 version it is probably one of my most carried knives it is amazing and a great value for the price being USA made.
Just received mine 5 days ago. I absolutely love this knife and have had zero issues with it. I do wish the scales were a bit more grippy. Great value in my opinion
After months of being sold out...I finally got mine.. but, they send the partially serrated one.. I ordered plain edge. I never complained because it's still a great, great folder , at a great price !
The lock will fail on those. Its all over you tube if you google it. They have fixed it in the last month or 2 though. The brand new ones are fine. I think 3/24 is when i started seeing the new ones that dont fail.
This knife is worth $250 every day of the week, I love mine and it gives you everything a Sebenza or Inkosi gives you with incredible quality at less than 1/3 the price and I am a die hard Chris Reeve guy. Incredible what Microtech gives you. Anyone who dislikes it are in the smallest of minorities - just look at the sales. I have several and each one arrived perfect! If you study this knife, you get great blade steel, titanium back spacer, perfect and I mean perfect tolerances and my favorite knife is my beloved large Inkosi. An amazing effort!
Don’t you dare spend anything near 300….IDK what those crackheads are thinking. If you can find one of the FRN or G-10 for at retail price or under, get it. Microtech will never make them fast enough for the hobby so anything at or under retail price is good enough for me.
Hmm it shouldn’t really shake out easily. Of course it’s not going to have a traditional detent strength a blade retention but maybe disassemble the knife and stretch the spring out a little. Taking the knife apart should be very easy. Much simpler that an omega spring knife or something like a Demko.
With more substantial scales, this might be the one knife to rule them all in my collection. I love this knife!
Fluted Carbon Fiber and YES, it is!

ordered the 30th anniversary version just now. 175 bucks is fair enough 😂
My msi ends up in my pocket 3-4 days out of the week. I recently got an aluminum stitch as well and Microtech is absolutely killing it with these

Microtech MSI, the “PIN Number” of knife names.

So good, been trying to find one in Fluted Carbon Fiber
Can this knife be used as a defensive tool? The blade doesn’t look very pointy
Great review brother, Thanks for sharing, I just made my order !
Great review man!
What do you think is the right price to try to grab one from knafsale?😂

They're $150 on the secondary market for frn, about 180-220 for g10
Yeah those are excellent prices
Heck brother, there isn't much in it. You could cut a couple inches of the handle and blade. Make a custom that would be bad assery
Thanks for the video. I just got mine and it shakes out very easily. Do you have a fix for this?

Alright I’ll try that, thank you for responding!
Got one. Love it! Thank you!🔪🖤🗡
Strange your's smell, I have 4 polymer and none of them smell. Love the MSI especially if you have big hands!
Luv mine, too! :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
