I own several microtechs from autos to manuals. The amphibian is by far my favorite knife I’ve ever owned. The beauty and size really sits well with me.
This knife haunts me. Its blade shape and geometry don’t do anything for what I typically use knives for… but that shape has me obsessed. I love that knife. I would carry and use it to strip cable and break down boxes and no one would say crap about it because, look at that thing! I have a Stitch auto for off-hand, non-use purposes. I love that knife, and that make it feel inevitable that I will own this knife sone day, and regret it until I’m fidgeting and looking at it lol. Thanks for the review! Your points on ergos and heat treat are appreciated sir!
The only problem with the Ram-Lok is its button. It is as sharp as the buttons on Microtech OTF. It just hurts to move the lock with one finger, so I use two. I also adjusted the screw so that when the knife is opened, the blade falls out of the handle under its own weight, thereby essentially turning the Amphibian into a gravity knife (where I live, this is not prohibited by law).
It's to bad Microtech is listening to people who see knives as fidget toys, instead of tools. The reduction in spring tension on the lock, combined with the properties of coil vs loop springs, makes the ram lock up less secure than a BM Axis lock. This is why the new ram locks are more prone to fail with a spine whack. Microtech-don't listen to fools who confuse toys with tools.

Thanks for the comment and viewership. Totally agree!
Bro… FINGERS or HANDS? No prob, we all screw up but I kept thinking “……he can’t operate it one handed?!?!” 😆
Good video, thanks 😎

I'm in the same exact boat, lol. Did you ever end up getting one?

I have the Benchmade Super Freek, and I think they must have improved the Axis lock, because one handed operation is very easy.
I have an amphibian on the way!
I have a Marfione Custom Prototype Whaleshark. I had a FTE Whaleshark that fell apart.
Yeah the thumbstud unscrewed and I locktited it. At least on the amphibian you can see the screw
Not too long bro. It was consise and a good review
That's one "SEXY" blade, Bro! I like... :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

Thumbstud
Im sure im in the minority, but i dont like the new clips they are putting on everything. For straight up use or utility the bent clips are way better.
Thumb disc? Wrong.
