My first visit to Venice Beach was in 1978, my senior year of high school. A group of friends and I went specifically because we had just seen the movie "The Witch that Came from the Sea" at a drive in theater, most of which was filmed at Venice Beach and the Santa Monica pier area ( side bar: this is NOT a movie recommendation... only a good movie for 18yr olds who live in the 70's 🙂) I loved 70s -80s Venice Beach, and am really happy they are trying to recapture some of the old nuance... its been a coastal "skid row" for far too long !!!
The boardwalk looks much better than when you filmed the video there a couple years ago! I'm glad that it isn't too crowded when it is not peak season and when you go early enough in the day. It makes it quite enjoyable even though there may not be as many street performers.
Depends what kind of weather you like.. but September is my generally favorite month. I think LA is pretty good all year round. It never snows here. But it can be really hot in the summer (June/July/August)
Hi Chris. I'm surprised that Venice Beach has more visitors than Disneyland. The local probably enjoy this time of year because there are no crowds. The business probably don't like it because not many people are spending money. Thanks for sharing and take care.
Chris we usually visit LA late August, early September and I can remember Venice being much busier than this. Our last trip was 2019, has it changed that much ?
I read a few years ago that those iconic palm trees are dying out and that the city was not interested in spending the money to replace them. Is this the case? Have you seen any youmger trees, ones that might have been planted within the past 20-30 years? Los Angeles with palm trees would be like San Francisco without the cable cars, unthinkable.
Those food spots seem to be selling the same stuff 😂 thats very interesting to me Are they all owned by a single business group or they just use the same supplier? Its like they have the exact business plan with the same design branding 😂 Im curious about the taste
Venice Beach feels like a chill place to visit for admire art and visit funny shops or just walk around there. But maybe not for food. Okay, for Ben&Jerry, maybe. 😋😋 Nice music that played in the background it gave the video a nice vibe to it. I really got the California feelings from the video. 🌊⛱️I wonder if next time you're in Venice Beach, what if you can film a video while rollerblade. It would be really cool. 🤩 What do you think could be something?🤗😉
was feeling very sick & lonely and just wanted to go out and explore the world (which i can't), and this video and you talking through it all made me a little happy :)) thank you for this!! i hope i can travel around the world one day :')
Could you send me to a more dangerous neighborhood? I'm dreading walking back to the car someone shouldn't crack me over the head and steal my bag, I'll be lying there on the street in this neighborhood and people will spit on me and empty my pockets. I'll lie in the gutter like a bum, like a dog, like a mutt, like an animal! God forbid someone should help me or call an ambulance. No, that's too much trouble to pick up a phone and press a few buttons.
I went to LA in October 2023, and decided to check out Venice Beach and Santa Monica Pier, as I heard they were tourist destinations. I went to both, and must say vastly overrated and quite disappointing. Unless you like the beach and surfing, I suggest to pass on this place. So many other places to visit in LA
Theres no gangs in venice. No ones gonna end up in gun stand offs or drive byes. Venice is chill. Some scammers, but thats it. I like your videos, but keep it straight. Right now you just pushing false info.

Yeah.. the homeless that took over the Boardwalk really set Venice back a ton
It looks way better without the homeless camping out
For sure!

Mr. Charlie's .. woot woot. You should try it, they're great. If you try and do a review, tell me how much you spend and I'll compensate your costs 🤗
They're as bad as McDonald's but more expensive and vegan lol
It's like a video game parody
Oh so much better than it was! Thanks for sharing!
You bet!
Thank you for showcasing Venice with style and class
Whats the vibe like in December and January
Still lively on the weekends. Many less vendors on the weekdays
