The translator scam to make you feel all warm and welcome. The thing is they all speak English usually and the guy that supposedly doesn't speak English is telling the translator what fools you are and how they'll have your money soon and the translator comes back and tells you the non English dude was just saying how nice you seem to be, and because of that you'll get the best treatment, and so on. You're young, so I'll give you a pass. lol Good video.
This is my last day of my trip to Egypt and thanks god i have seen many videos like this one before my travel.. i have not been scamed not even once.. i acted like i was an Egyptian and didnt be nice to any person trying to scam me. My advice is: dont let them to take lead.. dont allow them to have control plus everything has to be literally agreed before start and dont let them to do anything outside the plan.
Exactly, the stupidity of these tourists with constant cameras make them an ideal target. I go to Egypt from 1980 and I still like thois country and the people. I live like them as well. There are professional cheaters everywhere in the world, you are not obliged to follow and trust everybody... Don't worry they can see at once who they can catch.
I just came back from visiting Cairo and Giza, and also had terrible experience from the moment I arrived at airport, until I left. From having to bribe airport staff, to getting ripped off by taxi drivers, shop owners and restaurants and all the “tour guides” who just take you to overly expensive shops. We saw policemen and airport staff smoking in the middle of the arrival terminal and the whole airport smells like smoke. Streets are extremely dirty and almost all animals (camels, horses and donkeys) we saw were in rough conditions. Everyone wanted tips, and no genuine interaction with any locals over my stay there. Visit the neighboring Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria instead. Locals there are far more hospitable
One of the things I hated the most is they expect you tip every time you use the bathroom. I always had my own tissue, wet wipes, hand sanitizer, etc so I never had to use anything of there’s but yet they still expected a tip. I gave one tip when I first arrived and saw how things operated, after that never again. Tipping to use the bathroom, bare foolishness!!!
Sorry, but I had the same experience in Morocco . I should say I met amaizing people there ,as well....but unfortunately the feeling that I was a walking stake or ATM there had stood with me all the time.
@@valeriepvi3667 I have traveled to both countries. Trust me, Morocco is heaven compared to Egypt! We met some wonderful people there and scammers were not that difficult to deal with. Contradictory when being in Egypt we had this feeling as if we were constantly under attack. We were stressed, felt insecure and never ever wish to return to that country again. What is the government doing about it?????
Just got back from Egypt yesterday and am still in shock from how many people tried to rip us off, whether it be excessive tipping or tour scams. My wife has been to Egypt several times before and had warned me, but until you go there you have no idea. Overall, it was a positive experience, but the constant and overwhelming desperation of locals to part you with your money def. gets tiring.
This is a warning of traveling to Egypt, and this video contains horrific testimonies of foreign tourists after travelling to Egypt, and the security practices they encountered similar to the Stasi or Gestapo. ruclips.net/video/-JbRYrUJZZw/видео.html
@@Joelfriend Kinda had the same experience on my vacation in Egypt, we had a nice tour by a man in Khan El Khalili. (The market in Caïro), We ask different times if he wanted some kind of money for it Just so we would had any misunderstandings in the end ( Also we of course were aware it was likely he wanted something for like everyone does). He really was like he didn't need any. He really seemd like an elder who just wanted bring a positive image to the country. He brought us to some shops from people he knew, so we though he just wanted to help some friends in the shops (we also bought some souvernirs out of generousity.) We ate food with him (payed like 50 EGP each) , talked about Egypt, he even guides us a Mosque where we donated some money (like 100EGP ), He talked about the Islam and how it helpes people who are in need of help. All these experiences were stuff we were willing to pay for (we asked beforehand) but he didn't wanted any. At the very end, we wanted to go back to the hotel because it was late, so we shook hands, and suddenly he started to be aggressively asking for tip bla bla etc.. Because I had in mind we might woudn't accept the tour if he asked money for it beforehand, we gave him like 150 EGP (It was our first day, so we didnt really know the right prices back then). He even started more aggresive he wanted 200 EGP. The experience really sucks, because you doný know who you can trust / makes friends with. Our trip was still a very unique experience, especially more south in Aswan), there we met some really nice and hostile Nubians. Also we experienced that how more you are in Egypt the better you can handle the situations.
Frankly you got lucky they didnt kill. You were in a vulnerable situation inside those rooms. That main guy is evil. I could see in his eyes and the poor thin camels were so afraid of him. Count your blessing you just lost money, not your organs or your life.
I just came back from Egypt to. Yeah the scammers there are bad. I almost got in a fight with a scammer that was grabbing on me. Even the security and cops are scammers. I have two videos on my page on what happened to me
We just came back from egypt and same, we felt scammed during the whole trip, even by our own guides that were supposed to be trustworthy. Its a pitty honestly because im never going back to egypt ever, because of that feeling of being “money prey” all the fucking time. Their loss, next time i will go and spend my money somewhere else, not in their country. Havent met a single tourist so far that will go back to egypt for that reason.
Guides are amongst the worst frauds and scammers. The one who took us around the Egyptian Museum, the pyramids and the Sphinx kept stopping the minibus and taking us into shops full of old tat because the owners were friends and family of his. He said "You have a beautiful lunch in Cairo today!" several times, and took us to an all you can eat dive with bland, boring and cheap food you'd not even pay £5 or $5 for in the West. In a gallery shop I bought a papyrus scroll which I was told was 500 Egyptian Pounds (about £13 Sterling). I didn't have many Egyptian Pounds left so paid by card, and when I checked my online banking later and found my card had been charged £50. Total lowlife.
Id go back.ive done 11 trips and never been scammed...although i know how to play the system.just simply tell them not to follow you...its a great induslt to them to be told this.
Where is the government when all this is happening to tourists coming to see your country? Where is the education about respecting your guests, above all where is the self respect? I guess if you have no self respect then how can you respect others? We the tourists are the reason Egypt is still alive, imagine if no tourists come to Egypt next year, what would happen to Egypt? What would happen to the people? What would happen to the vendors and restaurants?? Egyptians must welcome and respect all tourists ,be honest, be friendly, be helpful, be respectful. SHAME ON THE GOVERNMENT, SHAME ON THE ESTABLISHMENT, SHAME ON THE MEDIA AND SHAME ON THE DISHONEST PEOPLE OF EGYPT. WE WERE HOPING TO VISIT EGYPT THIS SEPTEMBER BUT AFTER SEEING SO MANY VIDEOS ABOUT IT, WE ARE GOING TO TURKEY INSTEAD.
Yeah, something similar happened to me. It runs the experience a lot because you would like to talk with them, enjoy a meal and gladly pay a normal price for it but when this happens to you, it's hard to trust someone again...
It’s kinda sad. I’m from Saudi Arabia, and there’s a common belief that Egyptians are scammers. However, there are many great Egyptian people but those who ruin the experience are always the loudest. I can’t trust Egyptian sellers or service providers in Saudi Arabia. I always think they might try to scam me. So yeah it’s sad.

Thank you for sharing. We had planned to go to Egypt, but your experience changed our minds. We will never travel to Egypt again. We have seen this behaviour in Morrocco before as well, and it is not OK. It does not matter how beautifully a country is; trashy people like this make the entire country look bad. I hope some Egyptian people read this and take it to heart. We love helping people out when we go to poor countries like Egypt, but this is such a turn-off. They do not deserve to be helped. Sorry, you guys had to experience this, but I am sure you helped millions worldwide. Xoxo. Stay safe in your travels.
As a Somali-American, it is sad to see how many Westerners experience scams, theft, and cheating when visiting Egypt. Additionally, some locals perceive them as walking ATMs. The experiences of these two men are quite disheartening. In Islam, scams and cheating are prohibited. Not only did the scammers steal a few dollars, but they also tarnished the reputation and principles of the local people, draining their trust into the sewer
I'm amazed with your videos. It has improved a lot since you started. It is so engaging with your unique editing. I'm so happy for your channels success. 👏👏👏👏
Thanks to this video I learned that if the moment you asked “how much?” and they dodge your question for more than 2 times then I should run away from them immediately XD My first question in Egypt if I ever visit in the future would be “how much?” 😂
I have to say. Going to a country like Egypt, and its not limited to Egypt, unless you personally know the people you plan to interact with or in some form hired by you ie you're on a paid tour with a professional guide, trust no one. Going into a country like that, whether is be Egypt, Pakistan, Thailand, New Guinea, Indonesia, you're the stranger and to the locals trying to make a living you're simple a possible source of income so of course that their first objective. Trust no one, expect nothing, and you wont be disappointed. Trust everyone, and expect pure good hearted honesty and you've set yourself up for disappointment.
I'm very sorry this happened to you guys. There are many people there who would be offended at the thought of you paying and who posses true hospitality. It's unfortunate that one bad actor can cancel many decades of progress.
I visited Egypt in May and I went through the same experience in Cairo and Luxor. It’s shame because they have a beautiful country and great history but some of them (not all) treat tourists like this. May Allah guide them.
Watched so many videos about Egypt and literally every one has the same experience. Then where is the honestly that every Muslim claims exist in Islam nations?
I believe it could mainly be because of the culture not religion. I come from a Muslim country and you don’t really see this type of behaviour there. I have even been to Jordan witch has a large number of Muslims and again I didn’t have any bad experiences there too. So it’s deffo not the religion. Making that kind of money in Islam is forbidden and Haram but many people don’t follow their religion properly, it’s sad.
@@skiesbornet1332 I am so sorry for those tourists who had this bad scam experiences, I have been watching many videos like that. I totally believe it is cultural, not religious, and related also to the level of education and poverty. Most of well educated people in Egypt will be so friendly and offers lots of help and hospitalities to tourists in Egypt. Those scams come from lay uneducated people, who, unfortunately, are all over the places around the touristic attraction, under the eyes, again unfortunately, of the local authorities. In front of Ifel tower, I was about to have my money stolen three times, same had my friends. Same thing happened to me in Gar Du Nord in Paris, where a couple of French people were trying to open my back-bag twice while I was watching. All touristic attractions will also attract scammers, however, I agree, the local authorities need to do more efforts to clean all these areas from those bad scammers. Final notice, I am hoping the future will witness a big step forwards regarding improving tourists' experience in Egypt.
@@skiesbornet1332 Even our holy books says that Arap nation or culture is not great. ''The Arabs are the worst in disbelief and hypocrisy, and the most likely to ignore the laws that GOD has revealed to His messenger. GOD is Omniscient, Most Wise.'' It's so sad and scary at the same time to hear about all these scammers horror stories. It is taking away the excitement that's been building up to my upcoming trip there. Sigh!
Egypt is such an amazing country… with a rich history and fabulous ancient culture… What a shame these people had to ruin it for you. Leaves you with a very bitter taste…and bad impression of the people.
It really does, I guess we just have to remember not everyone is like this it’s just a shame these two men ruined it but it’s still an amazing country!
I'm an Egyptian, and I would like to apologize on behalf of those jerks, also I sincerely apologize to everyone who couldn't enjoy his experience in Egypt. Edit: Also, thanks for publishing this video, it was really helpful for other tourists to avoid such scams that might happen to them.
I am Egyptian born, and unfortunately what you experienced in Egypt is too common. My apologies and it breaks my heart as Islam teaches them to be true not fake, and they look at it as business especially when foreigners are involved. I do not know how long Egyptian have been like that nor why but have my theories. I do think education is one factor. When traveling through Egypt I strongly suggest having the knowledge relating to common travel to knows. And be very weary of any Contract or Doc you may sign.
People who approach you being excessively friendly are scammers 9/10 times. Now you know. TBH you learned it pretty cheap. Could have been wayyy worse. (My sister was kidnapped by her taxi driver at the pyramids.) Live and learn chaps. It wasn’t a total loss. Now you have a great story and a great video!
One of the things I cannot understand, is why people repeatedly make the mistake of trusting anyone from this continent. They’re born to scam, Rob and worse.
There is evil everywhere, it's so obvious that this guy is a scary guy, anyone that just want to dive deep with you for no reason could be a scammer if a person just want to chat and not offer much, they probably wouldn't scam you
I’m just about to leave Egypt after 4 weeks of travelling. Looking at your meal size (if it’s mainly meat based) I would expect to pay around 300-500 EGP. Because it looks like it’s 4 person meal. Having said that I did have few issues with booked tours and tipping.
I was in Luxor in January and got scammed too: some local guy suggested to show me a "good spices store" where I bought spices and tea on 135 USD! Tourist places in Egypt are crowded with such persons who try to charge you 10 times more than they should. Nevertheless I've met a lot of nice and geniune people in Egypt too. Luxor International hosiptal gaved me a treatment for a gastrointestinal disease for free. And a guy from a Luxor railway station, Omar, shared with me his dinner while I was waiting for my train. Frankly saying I returned home from my Egypt trip exhausted and a bit disappointed due to a disease I got there and hundreds of sticky hucksters who followed me almost everywhere. But still I would be glad to go there again someday.
Hey, I go to Egypt often, how would you like for me to go scam the scammers with my buddies from Canada when I go next? I have a plan, think you'll love it.
Sorry to hear this guys I have been to Luxor once and never again The hotels are first class but once you get out side and especially the market area everybody just wants to rip you off Its a shame because you think there has to be some nice genuine local people here but no defiantly not in my experience Its also the persistent pestering they just don't leave you alone Keep safe
Good video! I think something to take from this as a red flag, is when they told you he was very important. You have to think, why would someone very important want to talk to me of all people? They are trying to flatter you and get you on their good side, be cautious in the future when being told you will meet/ chat to someone who is very important or has great influence. Those people are probably busy! haha
I am pretty sure you would never follow random people in your home country. Just apply the same logic to countries you travel to, and don't follow strangers to shady streets in other countries. One travel vlogger once said, whatever keeps you alive in your country, will keep you alive in other countries. We have a tendency to be overly relaxed, distract ourselves easily in a new environment and trust everyone when we are travelling. Don't. Because you wouldn't do that back home. Would you follow a stranger calling you to a dark alley in your country? Probably not. So don't do it in egypt either.
Man, u r going to the toughest areas in Egypt, and you expect not to get ripped off… you wouldn’t go to Detroit or Brooklyn and expect not to get robbed!!!!🤯🤯🤯
really felt bad watching this....and imagine how beautiful places in egypt are, but some of the people makes it uglier than what other think. hopefully someday this will change and i hope that the future generations of people here will get an good education perhaps prankly. and it will gave them a good values of how important people surrounding on their circles not only for foreigners coming to their country but for the sake of their own country and to be proud of....thanks for sharing these my brother joel, btw im from manila, philippines. and have a nice staycation on my country enjoy as well. mabuhay! and habibi for the people out their in egypt! salamat ❤️🇵🇭🙏
Got scammed at pyramids. Paid for camel ride and they offered to take photos for us. But didn't tell us till we finished they wanted extra for taking photos. Honestly most uncomfortable I've been in a country
I am Egyptian, and I would like to say I am so sorry guys about your bad experience with such scammers. I will be more than happy to provide any help for free with any information you need if you wanted to come again to Egypt. Unfortunately, these guys reflect a bad image of our country. Thanks and you're always welcome in Egypt.
Want to do something better for the Egyptians? Help the people so they don’t resort into scamming other people which gives the Egyptian people a bad reputation. Talk is cheap, action is rich and expensive value. Help your people first then apologize later.
In Egypt, never talk to ppl on the street, ignore them, dont give them any money including the children bc its always a scam. Go inside a convenience store and buy sandwiches and chips and hand them to street kids, if u like, but no $.
Good advice. Even making eye contact with scammers is regarded by most as a way in. We all want to be nice and friendly with other people when travelling, but there are associated risks.
I hope to visit the most generous country , Iraq to see the hospitality of this nation , the poor and simple man before the richest one , the vendors , the peddlers , and even the official employees during their work as a police , you can watch a lot of videos of other foreigners on you tube visited Iraq and their impressions on the people of Iraq .
I got back from Egypt a month ago. It was amazing. You have to have a sternness to yourself and be as self-sufficient as possible. You'll be an easy target if you look lost or confused. Don't let locals persuade you into anything. Business owners will be more than happy to accommodate you, even if you're getting the tourist price (still crazy low costs). Very important y'all, use Uber it's extremely efficient and they will take you from Cairo to the pyramids for less than 10 bucks. You can tip on the app in EGP and it's insanely cheap. Most rides were around 20 EGP around Cairo, and I happily tipped another 20 EGP (like one USD) I need to make a video explaining how positive my experience was, and how to not be such a pushover in Egypt. PS. The big dude looked shady from the jump. He wouldn't even look at you all in the eyes, he was eyeballing around very suspiciously. Also put two and two together, why would those two be so closely associated?
ar u sure? what about the constant stop from tye police and deleting all the pictures and vids from the phone? Somewhat nearly consfiscating our things. Very unpleasant and so different from the rest of the world. Kinda like North korea is much safer because nobody talks to you and will scam you. lol
I dont get it when i hear travel cheap to a poor country ! really ? you end up losing all the little money you have in your pockets. because you avoid the nice clean touristic places and you go down to the hood mixing up with crazy people ,scammers and maybe criminals endangering your life for the sake of travelling cheap.. i dont get it !
I literally traveled them same streets. Egypt definitely was the most scammiest place I ever been to 😩 I hate to say that. & I think Dakar might be number 2 with the scams. People fake being friendly then asking for money, smh
I had the opposite experiences in Luxor, I got invited to peoples house for dinner with their families. Their wives cooked special meals that I'd never eaten. I took gifts as you do anywhere in the world. The hardest thing I found in Egypt was constantly being asked to drink tea with people. Yes there are street sellers trying to sell tours, horse rides etc but its not a real no unless its the third time. Understand the hustle, they don't sell they don't eat.
Hey Joel, I am so sorry for the scam and feeling like people weren't genuine. I know it has been years but I wanted to offer to host you, if you want to give Egypt another chance. We will make sure you have a blast! I also got scammed as you can see in my last video... not for $43 but for $120k! So trust me, I know how painful it feels.
Its a lesson in life. You mention so many times that the one guy a VIP in the town is. This is why he has a mini butcher shop with no meat hanging and only two half starved camels. You ordered food without knowing what you are getting or what it will cost. Would you do this back home?
omg we had a similar thing happen in Luxor! We stayed on the west bank for a week so 'made friends' with one of the restaurant owner we always walked by......decided to eat there one night....he didn't have a menu just 'yeah, salad, chicken, rice, good good!'....we ordered two meals. luckily demanded to know the price and it was wayyyyyy more than anywhere else! When we were like 'no, we're good, we don't need food' he came back and said it was that price for both of us combined, not each as he initially told us...still our most expensive meal in Luxor, but at least it was only half what he was trying to charge us...
No way that’s crazy! It just really disappointing as you feel you can’t trust some Egyptians. Hopefully this video brings awareness to more travellers! Thanks for sharing! 😊
you learn:) I have first did 'serious travelling' (in India) some 20+ years ago when I was 20..... oh, and I learned a lot! And since then, things described in the video do not happen to me, including during my several trips to Egypt:) Key is to be polite but firm, be able to say 'no', be able to unambiguously agree any price in advance, be able to distinguish genuinely friendly people from people who are just trying to make some bucks -and (equally important!) understand there is nothing wrong about that as I am basically a lottery winner just because of where I happen to be born, and they do what they could to make some money! Once you figure few basic things out, you are OK Its a learning process and what these guys describe is part of it (I assume this is their first independent trip outside Europe)
Thats really sad. sorry to what happened to you in Egypt. Those trach and low class who scammed you they only represent them self. The population in Egypt is almost 105 Million people the majority of them are very nice, honest and genuine people.
I am half Egyptian but i know Egypt only as a tourist. So i know some things about these scams. To be honest, that wasnt a bad deal. They showed u around, you had dinner, you enjoyed their hospitality for over an hour and they gave u a good experience overall. Of course they expect something in return. You are in a tourist area. 20 bucks each for this experience is absolutely ok. Real scammers would have charged you way more money.
I agree, seems like a reasonable deal for the experience. I realize the outcome wasn't within your expected budget but I'd have paid that much for the experience if I knew up front what the plan was. At least you weren't physically assaulted or robbed at gun point - that would be the real scam. These guys were just in a transaction mode.
Sorry about your experience but getting scammed is unfortunately a common thing when traveling abroad. Its not pleasant for sure, but also it’s not the end of the world. It could happen to the most experienced traveler. My friend and I were scammed for a lot more money in Rome and Athens. I have friends who were scammed in Moscow, Istanbul, Panama City & Argentina. Tourists now days actually get drugged, robbed and sometimes even killed in countries like Colombia. It goes with the territory when your traveling. Safe travels.
Similar experience myself ... actually it generally isn't the amount of money lost (which isn't much), but the deception particularly when it's coming from children or in places like mosques like I've experienced; once corruption extends to higher levels of society and politicians it's the point of no return, I know from my parents' country
If you want yo explore cairo, Giza or unhistorical places inside Luxor and Aswan, you should have a local friend so no one can scam you. If you want to go alone Hurghada and Sharm El sheilkh are a better option. I'm sorry this happened to you. They do the same to the Egyptians but we don't reply
Unless you argue with every vendor you meet and never buy anything, you WILL be scammed in Egypt. The only way to avoid it is to say no all of the time. Constantly. Doesn't make for a very enjoyable time, though, so you need to set aside money you're willing to write off. The hotel I stayed in even scammed people.
Thank you for your video! 🙏 It was SO BRAVE of you and your partner to walk around openly! 🌈🌈🌈 👬 THANKS AGAIN for your contribution to the community! 🙏🙏🙏
Assume everyone is trying to make as much money from tourists as possible. I wouldn’t have given them much. The second they mention the price of the animal in British money it was clear they had money in mind.
walking around places that are relatively poor with expensive stuff on show, cameras, clothing and gear...well, you're gonna attract more hustlers. Why people do these tours with uninteresting commentary and just filming themselves.....
the general rule in my opinion; when someone is being super super nice to a tourist, its 9.5/10 times a scam... its unfortunate that these type of people ruin the experience for tourist! But I'm glad at least you were able to expose them!
I know, I feel silly now but have had so many amazing hospitality experiences in Indonesia, Philippines, Laos that I thought it would be like one of those but how wrong was I...
what you should of paid was about 450/500 for all that food , and then they added 100/150 onto it for them self's , i go to Egypt every year for the last 15 years for 3 months at a time . sometimes you will pay the same price as the locals and sometimes you pay the tourist price this is the way Egypt works , a McDonalds big mac meal is 250 the same as KFC so you see what i mean about the price you paid , if you stay in a hotel, there will be the tourist price and an Egyptian price and you will find you pay 50% more than an a Egyptian this i think is very unfair you will see what i mean if you are in a hotel in Egypt and check there websites because you will be using an Egyptian url

Did you not watch any of these types of videos from several youtubers beforehand and not learn how to deal with ppl, say no, walk away, bargain, etc?
Next time use Uber and don't be a pushover
Definitely man, it’s relentless there and puts a lot of people of travelling to the country

It does not matter how beautifully a country is; trashy people like this make the entire country look bad. I hope some Egyptian people read this and take it to heart. We love helping people out when we go to poor countries like Egypt, but this is such a turn-off. They do not deserve to be helped.

It's unfortunate that one bad actor can cancel many decades of progress.

came here to say the same thing -- basic street wisdom in any city.
Nonstop scammers in Egypt. I would never ever return. Horrible experience. People there ruin the country.
Be careful from the scammers everywhere you go
Of course they are everywhere they are unfortunately more common in Egypt

Its a shame because you think there has to be some nice genuine local people here but no defiantly not in my experience
Its also the persistent pestering they just don't leave you alone Keep safe

It was amazing. You have to have a sternness to yourself and be as self-sufficient as possible. You'll be an easy target if you look lost or confused. Don't let locals persuade you into anything. Business owners will be more than happy to accommodate you, even if you're getting the tourist price (still crazy low costs).

you learn:)
I have first did 'serious travelling' (in India) some 20+ years ago when I was 20..... oh, and I learned a lot!
Once you figure few basic things out, you are OK
Its a learning process and what these guys describe is part of it (I assume this is their first independent trip outside Europe)
Thats really sad. sorry to what happened to you in Egypt. Those trach and low class who scammed you they only represent them self. The population in Egypt is almost 105 Million people the majority of them are very nice, honest and genuine people.

I agree, seems like a reasonable deal for the experience. I realize the outcome wasn't within your expected budget but I'd have paid that much for the experience if I knew up front what the plan was.
They do the same to the Egyptians but we don't reply

walking around places that are relatively poor with expensive stuff on show, cameras, clothing and gear...well, you're gonna attract more hustlers. Why people do these tours with uninteresting commentary and just filming themselves.....
amazing sights but the dishonest ppl really ruined the experience of mine in egypt.
the general rule in my opinion; when someone is being super super nice to a tourist, its 9.5/10 times a scam... its unfortunate that these type of people ruin the experience for tourist! But I'm glad at least you were able to expose them!
I know, I feel silly now but have had so many amazing hospitality experiences in Indonesia, Philippines, Laos that I thought it would be like one of those but how wrong was I...
Bro, Cairo should be renamed Thief’sland . Similar experience with me
they charged me dollars for so much. Trips, meals, rides, etc. Terrible.
what you should of paid was about 450/500 for all that food , and then they added 100/150 onto it for them self's , i go to Egypt every year for the last 15 years for 3 months at a time . sometimes you will pay the same price as the locals and sometimes you pay the tourist price this is the way Egypt works , a McDonalds big mac meal is 250 the same as KFC so you see what i mean about the price you paid , if you stay in a hotel, there will be the tourist price and an Egyptian price and you will find you pay 50% more than an a Egyptian this i think is very unfair you will see what i mean if you are in a hotel in Egypt and check there websites because you will be using an Egyptian url
