In the US, gymnastics education is not available to the masses, but the Internet is partly solving this problem. I am an old man, but in the last few years I have learned the pancake stretch, press handstands, handstand push-ups, backlevers and more. I could have learned all this stuff 40 or maybe even 50 years ago, and wish I had, but still, I am definitely enjoying it right now!
@@3DHDcat An old man from Romania told me they used to have calisthenics parks and/or gymnastics equipment there in every playground, every school and every park, plus lots of coaching. Romania and other Eastern European countries produced a lot of champions back then too.
Think you will find that is the gocase in most countries bro the general working out is gym lift heavy big ego lift. Good on you man i am 40 so yeah just getting into gymnast training being doing basic calisthenics for a yr dips pullups pushups some rings work to
It is a long journey, but a very exciting one to take. Although I am no longer young and in my twenties, I try to enjoy the training while slowly and patiently pushing forward. Thank you for sharing, Adam, it was inspiring and an always-good reminder that progress requires time, passion and strategy.
Its never too late to start!! After a 5 yrs break from sports I started calisthenics in february this year, at 40. Ive never been that strong 8 months later. The journey is amazing. Thanks for the inspiration Adam!
Your coach said you were too old? What would he have told me, I was 55 when I started gymnastics. Your videos have been very helpful and inspirational.
I love how you emphasize the prehab so much. It reminds me of gymnastics training, mixed with some aspects of physical therapy and rehab.. best of both. Patience for the win!
I started Calisthenics as a Senior and have made more progress in functional strength and physique than I ever did, lifting weights over 40 years. Attention must be paid to joints prep., especially later in life. I have modest goals and realise that there are some skills I may not achieve, but the benefits for me are increased functionality and wellbeing.
Great Video Adam and footage of your past training phases. I wish I started this in my young teen years but like they say about never to late to start. I'm a gym member but do enjoy blending some gymnastic methods with my training at over 55. There's so much I can't do but a lot I can, all I can say is that gymnastics/calisthenics is true strength to the core. Keep up the videos, we truly appreciate your knowledge.
First comment, Very Great and motivational journey sir ! And I have video suggestion that you should make a video about Full planche all progressions like you did for 90 degree handstand push ups and shoulder stand. Pls fulfill my this request Thanks for reading
Once I was so overweight, the good doctor told me to lose some weight. My bud told me to try Gymnastics. I did. tried the "Uneven Bars" THEY'RE EVEN NOW!!!
You are my inspiration man. I have seen all your videos and you are one of the most genuine and most practical fitness youtuber. Dont stop making the videos. I am just beginning my calisthenics and gymnastics journey. I hope i will meet you one day.
Thank you Ádám. As someone, who is striving to be a gymnastics coach as well, this really inspires me. Your books have been a great help, since i started my calisthenics journey back in 2016. Csak így tovább! :D
What a transformation! Hi Adam I’m from Taiwan. I have been watching and have bought your tutorials for 1yr. They’re extremely helpful and the forms you did, the graphic you displayed, are with excellent aesthetics. Thank you my life examplar!
Because of your channel, I put my 8 year old son into gymnastics classes twice a week. He has only been training for about 6 months, but his progress has been incredible. He is doing cartwheels, handstands, flips, and much more. Thank you for the motivation.
It's impressive to see what results adults can achieve in gymnastics. Hopefully this is true not only for 22 years olds but for 40+ either. 😁 Great motivation. 💪Thanks Adam. 👍
I'm 170cm tall, 38 years old - 36 of which I did nothing but sitting on my butt all day long. Started training with gym rings in May this year. Before that I was training with weights at a commercial gym. The first month, pretty much as Adam, all of my joints were hurting. If you are up to something very thorough on gymnastics, I recommend reading "overcoming gravity" it's very detailed in terms of teaching how to structure your training sessions, and recovery. Bodyweight training is much more challenging than it seems, but it's worth the grinding.
We love your videos! My family and I just started our calisthenics journey, Thank you for making these videos for us beginners. Can you do a progression video on the human flag?
I've been a gymnast basically my entire life. Started at around 4 years old and actually became quite good. But then I had a bad injury on high bars at a competition at 14, couldn't train for 3 months and my coach eventually threw me out. I was so unmotivated after that that I quit completely and didn't really do anything for about 3 years. But earlier this year I had one of your videos in my recommendations and I just felt that tickling and kind of longing to gymnastics. So I looked up a gym and started training again. I really got out of shape but I'm slowly getting back where I was before also thanks to your videos and exercises. Just wanted to say thanks!
Thanks for the info. Can you do a video on diet, nutrition and cardiovascular training? I believe a lot of us struggle with excess bodyfat and it really hinders our growth in terms of bodyweight strength.
Thank you for your dedication and the channel! I have learned many things even when I go to the gym people just look at me doing weird things lol. All worth it to be honest!
Speaking for myself here, but I'm in my late 30s and started training with gym rings 6 months ago. I won't be in the Olympics, but this doesn't prevent me from enjoying training gymnastics. 😅

Gymnastics takes years. All gymnasts are super young. No 40 year old gymnasts exist
Speaking for myself here, but I'm in my late 30s and started training with gym rings 6 months ago. I won't be in the Olympics, but this doesn't prevent me from enjoying training gymnastics. 😅
It’s not really about gymnastics itself but gymnastics training, strength and conditioning and some skills
Awesome inspiring story brother

Hungarian
