    Rings would always shift to a position of the least support, and thus unforgivingly reveal weak spots of the ahletic shape.

    Great reminder. I did gymnastics for 14 years (ages 4 to 18) and then got into lifting weights more for bodybuilding after I got beat up as a 16 year old gymnast. Abs survived over 30 minutes of taking punches on and off, but I felt small and wanted to gain a lot of muscle over all--especially legs. I left gymnastics at age 18. But I also left rings behind. This is a great reminder to me to get back to my gymnastics roots. You should do a video on other ways gymnastics equipment or training is something non-gymnasts should do too. I got large lats and arms from gymnastics but didn't think a lot about how that happened. And I've been training my abdominals hard from at least age 6 that I can remember. By age 16 my abs were extremely muscular and I have no body fat so they targeted my abs for their fun. I'm sure it was years of doing hanging leg raises with ankle weights that helped me survive getting beat up. But now want to revisit some gymnastics training I stopped doing. Love your channel btw.

      With your gymnastic training why didn’t you choose martial arts over bodybuilding?!? It’s nearly the same skill set!
      Each training would compliment the other throughout life too - if you avoid getting too deep into competition…

    • @AniWho268
      @AniWho268 9 месяцев назад +2

      @@zeebest1004 I'm confused on that too. Why not choose to learn how to fight instead? Of course, the answer is to avoid fighting in the first place, but when it's unavoidable, it's better to know some fighting skills.

    • @NeoCortex963
      @NeoCortex963 2 месяца назад

      You should have gone with boxing. Bodybuilding or gymnastics won't help you in a fight. Which is most likely why you got beat up. Which i am very sorry that you did by the way. Now gymnastics is the holy grail of fitness, but being muscular means nothing against a skilled fighter. If i wanted to be muscular, I'd do gymnastics. But if i wanted to avenge myself after getting beat up, I'd do boxing.

    I felt no pain in my elbow after switching to Rings, but most of all I felt my back more being worked specifically the lats compared to bars where I can only feel mostly the arm being worked. Ring is literally goated

    I train for muscle hypertrophy. In my training, I incorporate barbells, dumbbells, machines, cables, bodyweight exercises etc. I use whatever builds the most muscle. I want to incorporate wide ring pull-ups because I believe they would be a great exercise for the middle-upper back (for sure lats too). Are they more “hypetrophic” than bar pull-ups? What's your opinion on them generally?

    • @tredayy312
      @tredayy312 10 месяцев назад +2

      In this video Adam mentions the rings activate more muscle fibers because of the instability (or along those lines)
      For that reason I say yes. More muscle fibers activated = more muscle growth.
      Im just using logic. Im not a PT

      Yes

    • @radoslavstoev4550
      @radoslavstoev4550 10 месяцев назад

      In my opinion, no. Yes they activate more muscles which makes the exercise generally harder for most people (you do less weight or less reps, which hinders hypertrophy results). If you are focusing purely on building muscle in your back and arms, the fixed bar is probably the better option.

    • @YRO.
      @YRO. 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@radoslavstoev4550 You know that the number of reps can easily be increased with more sets? That's not at all a reason to make the fixed bar superior. More muscle activation is definitely the prime muscle builder.

      I have not done either really in a very long time. Bar probably a couple years ago. But I am not sure if it was my supernator, or a bicep tendinitis. I still get a little popping in my shoulder and feels like it needs to move back into position. But rings I just bought them and jumped right in. To quickly I am thinking.
