Sounds like a grave situation. I don't know if it's a creepy thing to say but it was another enjoyable video. I can't believe the elaborate detail of some of the headstone. The one with the statue of the man was amazing.

You should've gone to the Wilkes Barre City Cemetery nearby as it was/is overgrown (like the Washburn Street one in Scranton) AND has/had a fan house from a mine right in it.

My family starting with my great grandparents were cemetery caretakers. We lived in the upstairs apartment of the caretakers house and my grandparents lived downstairs. Some of my best childhood memories were having the entire cemetery as my playground. I used to always wonder about the lives of the people in the really old section. Nothing was more fun than playing hide and seek and scaring the life out of our friends 😂😂😂 when we got older we had jobs to do. The undertakers would give us money for helping them out by setting the chairs out. When we got old enough we would do the trimming along the stones while the workers used the riding mowers. I’m sure they found us annoying but they were all really nice to us. When my grandfather died the funeral was huge and I was really surprised at how many people remembered me.

This cemetery is fabulous! My hubby and i love to wonder around cemeteries. It all started finding his family back to 1906. His great grandpa was a carpenter and his tombstone has carpentry tools of that time carved on it. I enjoy reading them also. We found one that said the man was murdered. We've also found slave graves. We usually spend a lot of time at them. He wonders off one way and i wonder off another way. My favorite was the unique round stone and the red stone crypt. Thank you jp...sorry Mike was laying down on the job 😆

I am not familiar with that place in W-B. I only know about Bell Furniture on Main and during 1972 Hurricane Agnes a cemetery near Susquehanna River, soil was erosion and caskets popped out. Creepy! And 17 miles up to Scranton. Dunmore cemetery among with wealthy like Sunny Woolworth. And west of Scranton at Washburn Cemetery where Hillary Clinton grandparent and parents are buried there and this past summer the owner was absent and volunteers had to mow overgrown weeds. Sad.

  • @catherineengle4196

How beautiful....wow! I could spend hours there. It looks like a peaceful place. The most disturbing thing I have ever seen is people buried North South instead of East West. Have you ever seen any like that? The funniest thing I have ever heard and seen is about the graveyard behind my house. There is a small county road that goes thru the middle of it. So there are graves on each side of the road. My boyfriends family as well as another family were the first settlers of this community. He said that the people around here used to be buried by there political affiliation. Lol! If you were a democrat you would be buried on one side of the road and Republican on the otherside. Lol! He said one of the local democrats in the community had it written up in his will to be buried in the Republican side just to make sure he could keep pissing the Republicans in the community off....lol! I thought that was hilarious...people use to have fun with their neighbors and do for there neighbors. Every body helped pick each other's gardens and helped when they got sick. You sit on your front porch and People stop and say hi. We still have some of that here thank God but People today have lost there minds over politics... My boyfriend said this guy was the jokester of the community. God bless

@@JPVideos81 We have a cemetey called Angel Hill. They are buried on a hill that has alot of those glass solar lights next to the headstones, looks very eary at night. There's A small house on the property, was maybe a grave care takers house maybe.
If I can win the coin case & am awarded the truck from the dude & get the proper camra/ect it would make a nice respectful video or too there in day/night time. I have the Weird Maryland book from Werid U.S. / I'll see if they have one on Pennsylvania, it might help to give you some vide ideas, find some Interresting places.
Well I wish you a fun time on this live stream & hopefully troll city will partying some where & leave us in peace. Sorry I can't help out 'mod-ing' but it gives me more time to watch, the 1st time round, & I'm sure everything will be 'cool', but it won't have been my fault if someone might unfairly be timed out or whatever, of course I hope that never happens again.
May sound funny but after studying my Bible I prayed for having a great & fun
live stream, alittle prayer never hurts. Bell ringing time soon with the Salvation Army, don't know if I'll do it this yr, for 7 yrs I've done 10 hrs a day/night, 6 days a week. Na, too cold. If any of your subs need jobs you can work for $12. an hr this yr., more then I ever got😁 But at almost 70, it's getting a bit much. Fun thing is I'm still asked to show proof some times to buy cigs. I walk every where & luv metal detecting, & my church & teaching the church kids music & crafts. Fun times. LIVE STREAM SOON.🤗

Very nice and respectful video. I believe the numbered plaques are for people that were to poor to afford a stone. The cemetery office should have a log that records the names of the people that correspond to the number on the plaque. The head stone that looked like a tree was a woodsman of America member. The were kind of like the Masons.

Carrie born 1892, died at 2 y.o., Orissa 1894, died at 1 y.o, and George, born in 1903, and died in 1904 at 1 y.o. Such sadness for a family. Bert and George died in 1904. The Hughes were already dead by 1871.

The tree stump grave marker is from The Wood Men of the World fraternal order. See this: historichouston1836.com/woodmen-of-the-world/ I believe they are more often found in the west and midwest.
Also: to read faded inscriptions, try a high powered flashlight obliquely across the lettering. Works for my favorite southern expolers, Side Step Adventures.

I went on a walking tour of this cemetery with a rep of the local historical society . According to him, those black metal markers with just numbers are the graves the orphans of the poor, many whos fathers worked in the mines. A wealthy woman at that time opened an orphanage, school or hospital (cant remember the details) for them and saw to the burials since these poor little ones had no families. It was a profound story, maybe you could make a video about it.

I found the one with the gothic look and power running to it the most beautiful and picturesque. It looks like a little cottage.

Ahw! I especially love that MediEval looking church-like mousoleum! I think it's lovely!
But hey ... A graveyard ASIDE a hospital?! Hmmm ... In my opinion I think it doesn't work out well for the patients staying in the hospital (bad energies!) ... But overhere in the Netherlands they sometimes are that crazy too! I know an academical university hospital (which on it's own is a good hospital) which has the mortuary aside the kitchen in the cellar! You also can go there via the cellar from the one half of the building to the other and in earlier times there also were the surgery rooms and recovery rooms ... But the energy overthere is VERY creepy! Once I walked through that long alley with a friend of mine (because I wanted to show her) and as we walked along the kitchen and thereafter is a side alley to the mortuary, I FELT quite some crowdiness of lost entities in that alley which leads to the mortuary! I think it's NOT good to have a kitchen aside there because the energy of the dead goes straight into the food which is prepared in the kitchen overthere ... But hey, that's just my opinion eh?

Hey Jay, I just thought of a place you might like to check out in Pennsylvania for maybe EVPSs type haunted investigation, it is called Cemetey Hill.
A very big battle took place there, many bodies were just piled up waiting to be buried so it was turned into a cemetey. Some investestgations have turned up EVPs and I just thought you might be interested since it is in your home state.
Another cematary right across the street from the VA hospital is where Mr. Poe was buried. A creepy thing is that it is known, (how I don't know) to have had folks buried while still alive, comma victims maybe? How they would know folks were buried alive I don't know.
They had folks at one time at different cematarys buried with a string leading up to a bell was a 'thing' way back...for folks afraid of being buried alive. But think about it ....who would be around to hear the bell?
I'm thinking about having a green funeral as I'm not crazy about the idea that about 8 Olimpic size pools could be filled a year to show how much formaldehyde is used in regular burials each year in the US alone & eventually that goes into the grounds.
Another fact is since metal caskets were started to be used and up to 2019, the amount of metal buried in the ground could build the SanFranisco bridge, wow !
One could use their ashes to make a 1 caret diamond then you could be around & admired as a piece of jewelry. It takes about 16 weeks to make a diamond from a person's carbon ashes.
Or you could be made into a box of penciles and when the shavings are kept and the penciles are gone the shavings can be put in an container. Just another fun Halloween fact.🙃.
Me? I want to be nicer to mother earth. They have a thing called a mushroom suite to be buried in of all things. The mushroom suite is kept in a plastic bag with all the air sucked out and will keep that way till needed. The suite has mushroom seeds in it & the mushrooms take all of the toxens out of the body or such some thing. Crazy stuff maybe but it is still nicer to mother earth.
The one I hate is the metal container where a body is put in and super boiling water is used to liquidfie the body & it all goes back into our water system.😨
Have you drunk YOUR 8 glasses of water today?
    Happy 🎃 Halloween!!!

For similar cemeteries, you should check out Forty Fort Cemetery in Forty Fort, and Maplewood Cemetery in Carbondale. The latter is overgrown, but there's a lot of history there.

Many of the streets or sections of W-B, are named after families you mentioned, that are buried in this cemetery.
