In Tom's River, New Jersey across the street from the Court House there used to be a big church & a large grave yard, now only a few headstones remain.
In board daylight I got a clear EVP of a distressed Irish woman stateing,"I can't find me headstone...Where's me headstone?"
I found out later that a company was paid to relocate headstones & bodies for the new road going in. I think to save money maybe they only moved the headstones.

the stones with just a name and no date are family plot names the stones behind or infront of with dates are the family member buried there. here is a piece of interesting info, back in the late 1700s gravestones were carved by hand. the stone mason charged by the letter, so engraving a stone could be quite expensive, a lot of family opted to use abbreviation. the shape of stones were significant to what the family believed at the time of death. for instance some people believed that the tall monuments like the one you showed here the 20 footer would give the soul a direct path way to heaven. cherubs, small angels and lambs were typical for children's graves. also since Pennsylvania was mostly settled by Germans/ Pennsylvania Dutch you will sometimes come across stones engraved in german. also older stones 1600/1700 were sometimes placed at the foot of a grave as opposed to the head. The engraving in that case would be on the back side of a grave. also in that time period it was common for cemeteries to be used almost like a park people would have picnics in them. in the early 1600 you could hire professional mourners to come to your funeral. it was believed the more mornors you had the higher social status in the community you were. .. but I am ramballing you probably can tell cemeteries are my thing. I think they are so peaceful and beautiful. I actually live by a cemetary. I know I'm kinda of weird. LOL

Many times in my life, I have lived very close to cemeteries . my mother always said ... No one in a cemetery can hurt you .its the guy walking down the street ,you have to watch out for lol . she also said NEVER. Take anything from a grave or even a cemetery or you will be bringing something very precious back to that cemetery . . it is sacred ground & should always be respected

That is a beautiful cemetery .

In conclusion, I just wonder how many truly walked and then died in Christ. Repent and believe because we are living at the end of the age.

    20:17- Might be a Thunderbird.
In N.J. there's a shiney grant stone in the shape of a light bulb because the man was an election.
A man promised his brother a car but the brother died shortly before getting his car so the brother had a car built out of granet.
There was one of a wheel chair & a young boy, beauitful smiling face reaching upwards standing leaving his wheel chair all made of stone and bits of metal covered in mostly stone.
Another one that stands out from my cematary visits was of a doll house. You could look through the thick windows & see some furniture. Stated on the monument that the little girl finelly got her doll house.

What a beautiful and peaceful place. Some pretty amazing monuments as well. Most of my family are buried in a small cemetery in Michigan on a hill, with trees, surrounded by Amish farms. Very serene. I live in Wisconsin now and our local cemetery has quite a few solar stake lights in it - I didn't see those here, but maybe I missed them? I liked seeing the pumpkins set up on some plots and the jack o'lantern cut-outs with scarecrows - it tells me that family members have visited recently, and maybe their loved ones enjoyed autumn and Halloween. Cemeteries are comforting places to focus our thoughts and grief, but I believe that our loved ones are not there. I believe they are with us always, and in Heaven. Thanks for sharing this video, JP - it was so beautiful and relaxing.

What's pretty cool is that you can go onto Findagrave.com and a lot of the graves have the obituaries on them, so you can get a sense for the people who are buried there. Also, the altar area/plot is a catholic plot. The locked chamber would hold the eucharist for a priest to celebrate the mass on the altar. The pedestal next to the altar would be for someone to give the readings or for the homily to be delivered. It's basically a mini outdoor catholic church.

Hey Jay, as cemetery walker I can give some insight, on markers the giant stone with the family's name is the headstone, the smaller ones with a person name on them, is a foot stone. Most of the graves now are not done that way because it expensive to hand mow around those headstones. I have good friend that mows the little local cemetery. The above ground markers takes hours to mow around and you have to be ever so careful not to ding them with the mower. Some of the markers are so ornate and beautiful. I have a friend who passed, his marker is the rear end of a '57 chevy carved in stone. What it cost I have no idea, but his wife had to get special allowance to have it placed. Thanks for taking us with you.

Hi JP, Tamara is correct about the Zimmers (pyramid stone). They owned a furniture store in Scranton and were killed on a business/vacation train trip, somewhere near upstate New York. I'm not sure if it was Gibson or not. There was also a young woman killed in the same accident who is buried in Forest Hill Cemetery, which is located just below the Dunmore Cemetery. There is also a Jewish cemetery that is located behind the Dunmore one. The name of the young woman escapes me at this moment, but if you drive into Forest Hill her stone is partway in and it has a statue of a young girl sitting on a bench. The statue is an image of that girl. I believe she may have been about 19 at the time. I've been to Dunmore Cemetery many times and I've taken the tour several times. I've also replaced the flags on the veteran's graves when I was a boy scout leader.

You should research how someone can get one of thoes building built for their grave and how much it costs. And maybe interview a person that builds them.

Amazing video JP. The photo montage was an 11 out of 10 as well. Also, sad to see the young lifespans on some of those headstones.

    It's Beautiful Cemetery, JP 👍 ...
If you like visiting cemeteries, there's a very small cemetery I would like you to check out sometime, well if your ever in the area and you got a minute. It's not too far from where you live, well a little over an hour, from where you live. "Lemon" Cemetery, Old Greenwood Rd, Orangeville, PA There is a small old church by it... I believe its my 5th great-grandfather, Jonathan "Lemon" Sr. And his son Jonathan my 4th great-grandfather, and I'm sure plenty of other great family members. I'm sure it's not as beautiful or interesting as the one in this video, but if you are in the area, would appreciate it. It's kind of crazy I named my son Jonathan, and didn't know anything about it till afterwards... I doubt I'll ever get out that way, but who knows maybe someday...
🤔 maybe JP subconsciously, spiritually, maybe the reason I find videos about your area Pennsylvania so interesting as part of my family was from that area of Pennsylvania and I don't know too much about any of it.
If by some small chance someone is reading this comment and knows any "living family members related to this comment let me know. 👍😉

Me too! We have one here in Maryland called Angel Hill. That place is spooky in the day time ...at night...being next to the woods, plus alot of graves have those blueish lights that have the solar panels, makes it even more special.

This by far is my favorite video for the few weeks that I found your channel. The photo montage is so impressive. . Music selection couldn't be better.I have been a cemetery lover for many years. I travel frequently and try to see local cemetery's. Have not come across one as beautiful as this one. Just the fall colors, leaves scattered and the sky make it all the more beautiful.Different structure types are so interesting. I appreciate you for taking time to film and how you are so respectful of your surroundings. Great job! Thanks.
