I've used the rolling pin technic for year before I picked up a Big Shot at a garage sale. Works great, especially if you use a wooden rolling pin. I use painters tape to stick things down. To make the tape less tacky, stick it onto you clothes and pull it up..
I saw a metal die cut at dollartree and had NO CLUE what it was used for, but I still picked it up...🤭😏 Thank for this video!! Now I'm going to make such cute designs!
A serious ‘Thank-you’ for this video. You make it clear and easy (and less than an hour) for a beginner to learn. Plus these Christmas cards are adorable❣️
TFS. I craft in a small space so won’t get a machine. I would appreciate another tutorial with a smaller die, though I know it cannot be too fussy. Stay well. 💕
Wow! What a fantastic tip for cutting papers with an oversized die! I would have never thought of that in a million years! I am off to watch your videos about how to make some of these wonderful pocket folders now! Thank you so much for sharing! 🥰
Thank you so much for sharing this die cut tip. So happy to know how to use my special large dies without the larger machine. You've made me a happy camper.
Thanks fornthe info. Not sure ill ill need it, but its nice to know! I like that closure. I have a small oval die that I could score, and to cut a slot on the flap would be easy enough.
Love the tip for cutting out a die that is too large for my machine. Several years ago I bought a die set even though the largest one doesn't fit in my machine. Now I know I can use it. :) I couldn't find the instructions for the project on your blog. I love it! If you would steer me in the right direction, I would love to make some for Christmas presents for the coming year. Thank you!
What a wonderful tip!! This will come in so handy!!! I love the Christmas pockets as well... so lovely! Your friends will be so thrilled to receive them!! Be blessed!!! 💗
Oh how simple. Thank you. I can see how it would be tricky with intricate designs but at least one can start using die cuts until they can get a machine ☺♥
What fun Christmas mail! Love them! Thanks for sharing some more great projects AND the tip on using your big dies without a cutting machine, much appreciated ... 💕
Thank you SO much for this tip! I was able to get on and try out some of the dies I'd got in some crafting magazines. I ended up using a table knife because it was better than my bone folder. Thanks, though! 🙏🏽😃
Thank you for sharing this tip. I have friends who don’t have a cutting machine and this would be a godsend for them. Thank you for sharing. 🌹Rosie of Oz🇦🇺 & 🐶Omega the Cavalier🐶
That looks so easy, but obviously the paper is very thin. I bought an A4 cutting die when I discovered it on sale... I love your projects, too. First time viewer here.
Thanks for sharing as well cause I don’t have the money to buy a machine since they are expensive but I can get dies easy but wasn’t sure how to get them to cut like that. Thank you. Your stuff is amazing btw! Always beautiful stuff!
What a great community. I'm so glad to see this video. I was about to return a very long die because I couldn't use it in my Big Shot. You and your friend may have saved the day! I can't wait to try this.
Good evening Liz wow, how amazing is this?! Love it! Your projects are so awesome thank you for sharing. Now I won’t be afraid of picking up larger dies. ❤️🌹 have a beautiful evening
I can only say WOW !! to those beautiful pockets you made and I'm astonished by the tips for the die cutting ..Thankyou so much Liz for sharing this as I only have a very small machine ..your creations are so magical and I'm in awe honestly 😮🤍 also I now know I can buy the bigger dies ..your inspirational 🥰
Wow what a brilliant tip for die cutting. I have a lovely die that I have to cut in two parts and stick together, so will definitely try this out. Thank you for sharing xx
What a wonderful idea! I realized after I bought my small machine, that I was going to need a bigger machine. I asked everyone at Christmas one year if they would just donate as opposed to buying presents! This was 20-something years ago, so I'm sure they were much cheaper than they are now.
Just seen your video as I was scrolling down and I did a very quick "Stop"! I thought 🤔💭🤔💭to myself uhh! I've never seen nor heard of you, so I got not even half way through and thought why haven't I seen you until now❤😊❣ I really needed to see your video last week, I went down to Southern California to spend time with my Sister. I've painted my greeting cards with watercolor paints all my 40 years, when I was flipping through the channels I seen a video of Natasha Foote. Well now I'm back in Utah & all my craft supplies is still at my Sister's home 😢💔🥺 Anyways I am so, very, very happy that this boo-boo was a happy accident just waiting to happen❤😊❣ I am now a Subscribed Card/Everything Crafter🥰❤😊❣ ringing the Bell at full speed every time you have a video. TFS Liz it's an honor to watch you❤😊❣ Hugs from Northern Utah. Xoxo Vicki 😊
Hi, I am so happy you found me! Algorithms are awful for some us, we get hidden and our videos and not very easy to find sometimes. I try to share weekly creative ideas, that have inspired me and I share them with all of you. Welcome to my crafty channel!
Thank you for sharing the Christmas versions for the happy mail, the bag ephemera holder, and the tip from Beverly!! All so useful for our creations! Hugs from Ohio! 🤗🥰💜
What a fabulous, ingenious idea! I do have too many die cutting machines; electric, manual and digital! But this, for the starters, or the frugal, or craft groups is an amazing idea! I have just found you; I am now a subscriber, and I look forward to viewing your videos. TFS, have a great Christmas holiday. ❄️🎄
Yes great tip. The paper thickness certainly makes a difference! I tried to do this my first time using cardstock (like 65lb I think).. and it was really hard to do bc it needed more pressure than the thinner paper. I also tried an intricate die and it didn't work out lol.
I have the spellbinders grand caliber die cutting machine that will cut a die that is at least 8 inches wide. I hope you have listed the manufacture of that envelope die is that is really cool! What a wonderful idea, thank you for sharing!
This is so cute!! I love this. Could be used for so many things! I’m thinking I might do one for my mom-in- law and fill with pics and notes and drawing from her grandkids!!
Hi there! Thanks for sharing such an inspirational and useful video! I am only just getting interested in paper crafting so I’m not sure that buying a die cutter would be a good use of money for me (depending on how my interest lasts). Seeing how metal dies can be used without a machine is fantastic! I looked for the link to the video you said you watched about it and could find the link - maybe I looked in the wrong place, though?
