    Previously I’d thought of Horizons of Focus as a top-down analysis, seeing it from the bottom-up and asking why at each level helps tremendously

    • @CalmAchiever
      @CalmAchiever  3 года назад +2

      So glad this helped. Yeah, just asking “What’s your purpose in life” doesn’t get you very far.
      It’s much easier to pick something you do and go bottom-up.

      @@CalmAchiever Hi Arif! Here's a question, is it that when we realize our higher horizon then we might change what we do? Thank you for the video... very informative!

    • @CalmAchiever
      @CalmAchiever  3 года назад +2

      Hi @@sukshma239
      Once you discover your HIgher Horizons and you see that your current Next Actions are not leading you to that Higher Horizon (your goal or vision), then yes indeed it's an opportunity to do something different that takes you there.
      However, it may also happen that as you uncover your Higher Horizons, you may realise that you are on the right path. And that what you are doing every day will take you where you need to be. Then just carry on.
      Hope that helps!

    I've just finished the GTD Fundamentals at Calm Achiever. This is must do workshop and these series re-emphasise and bring more clarification to the methodology. Now my brain has started connecting the dots. For the new learners just a piece of advice "Trust the System" like you trust your faith and be consistent in practicing. Thanks Arif Bhai.

      Congratulations on completing the Fundamentals workshop!
      And your advice is spot on: “Trust the system” and “continue practising”.
      Give your absolute best to GTD, Shahrukh. You will experience your entire life get an upgrade.

      Having clarified one’s Horizons helps immensely if one is on track on one’s goals and one’s purpose (to the best ones ability).

      It does, doesn’t it Micheal?
      Once you create a document of your Horizons of Focus, you begin to notice them. And eventually you begin to integrate them into your life. All the way from your “Purpose in Life” right down to your very next phone call you’re going to make.
      Thanks for the comment!

      @@CalmAchiever Indeed.
      I did my thinking and writing last sommer and it really added a feeling of completeness and made GTD a "life system" for me.
      I have put my horizons into my GTD system as a combination of goals and intentions and track those projects and activities on a regular basis in my larger weekly reviews. I apply Natural Planning Model on the horizon-projects, hence I'm presented with the "next action" questions and reflections to ensure that, what ever is in the horizon project, is alive and active.

      @@CalmAchiever Well, you are too kind.
      I've been working with GTD for some four years now, and my entry was the same as so many others - a system. It was, with a number of fall-off's - the combination of working with the higher horizons and my level two training with Lars, that made it stick for me.
      Thank's again - you are inspirational

      Yes, Level 2 is important to see how the higher horizons line up.
      Do attend level 3 when you can. It’s a REALLY powerful training too.
