As always, clear and easy to follow instructions! Curious about one thing, though. You say it's an easy 4 Chord Tune, but you never play the C chord. Did I miss something?
Thank you for all your kind words. I'm glad your back at it!! Good luck in your learning and thanx for tuning in. Hey, I'm trying to reach 100k subscribers so please spread the word about my channel, it would be greatly appreciated, thanx
Love this tune. John Fogerty is probably my favourite songwriter (although he didn’t write this). Actually got to see him live in London in 2018 supported by Steve miller. Thanks for this video. All my electric guitars are in lockdown 25 miles away and all I have with me is my acoustic 👍
That’s all you need!!! I saw fogarty live a couple years back, he is as great as ever!! I’m glad you like My vids. Thanx for your support. Take care and stay safe
Awesome cover. What happened to the C-Chord? In the beginning of the video you said the C-Chord is in the song, but I didn't see you use it. Sorry if this has been answered before. Thanks again
To help us singing with you Well, you wake up in the mornin', you hear the work bell ring, And they march you to the table to see the same old thing. Ain't no food upon the table, and no pork up in the pan. But you better not complain, boy, you get in trouble with the man. Let the Midnight Special shine a light on me, Let the Midnight Special shine a light on me, Let the Midnight Special shine a light on me, Let the Midnight Special shine a ever lovin' light on me. Yonder come miss Rosie, how in the world did you know? By the way she wears her apron, and the clothes she wore. Umbrella on her shoulder, piece of paper in her hand; She come to see the gov'nor, she wants to free her man. Let the Midnight Special shine a light on me, Let the Midnight Special shine a light on me, Let the Midnight Special shine a light on me, Let the Midnight Special shine a ever lovin' light on me. If you're ever in Houston, well, you better do the right; You better not gamble, there, you better not fight, at all Or the sheriff will grab ya and the boys will bring you down. The next thing you know, boy, Oh! You're prison bound. Let the Midnight Special shine a light on me, Let the Midnight Special shine a light on me, Let the Midnight Special shine a light on me, Let the Midnight Special shine a ever lovin' light on me. Let the Midnight Special shine a light on me, Let the Midnight Special shine a light on me, Let the Midnight Special shine a light on me, Let the Midnight Special shine a everlovin' light on me.
william .lafreniere Party Marty does easy guitar tunes. Beginners can't tune down steps etc.......and some of us don't want to bother when you're jamming at a party etc.......
Thanx - I'm glad you like my channel, that's a great tune, I'm trying to answer a lot of requests right now but I'll keep it in mind for a possible future project, Thanx for tuning in and good luck!!
PartyMarty EasyGuitarTunes it's all good. I don't even know if there is a feasible acoustic strum for Back to the Island...just love the song. The CCR tunes have been a big hit at family functions. Thanks again for what you do.
That's great!! I'm glad to help. Hey, I am trying to reach 100k subscribers so tell your friends about me, it would be greatly appreciated, thanx for tuning in, good luck to you and take care
Honestly Marty, you are really like (I assume) Bert Wheedon & his ‘tune in a day’ technique. Now this was a method that one particular Liverpudlian learn how or play ... that Liverpudlian was the late great George Harrison 👍🏼
Just want to say wow dude great work just found your vids tonight and have listened to alot so far and i have to say its the best.. have you already done roller derby queen by jim croce that was the first song i ever learned how to play
Thanx, I'm glad you think so. Hey, I am trying to get 100k subscribers, I would appreciate it very much if you would subscribe to my channel and tell your friends. Thanx for tuning in and good luck to you ands yours
Its DDU(D)UDU also known as the most popular strum in the world. Thousands of songs use this pattern. In this song the 2nd and 4th D is a percussive strum. I was told by a guitar teacher and friend to practice that strum until you can carry on a conversation while playing it . The singing over it isn't a problem. Hope this helps.
Always a pleasure watch'in...Good work Marty.."Centerfield" by CCR next...Like ta' see ya do that one 'dere buddy! With the pick'in part in 'dere too...Lol.
I kept watching for it too wondering how i was missing it. I scrolled down just to see if anyone else missed it and mentioned it,, thanks And great tutorial.

Marty, what is an easy way to play Romeo and Juliet from Dire Straits? One of my favorite songs, great band and definately mark is one of the best guitarists ever. But is there is simple way to do it and make it sound clean? kind of a campfire version? I havent seen one yet. thanks
I'm afraid, the idea is to practice the chords to where you can play along with me like we are in a kitchen playing together which is how I learned. Good luck with it and thanx for tuning in
I am lucky that my fingers are big enough that I only need 2 fingers to press down on 3 strings. I can also manage to lift up my finger a bit to play the A7 when required. Just a little trick I came up with years ago. Thanx for watching and Happy Holidays to You and Yours!!
great lesson only criticism is you got the lyric wrong. it is no food upon the table no PORK up in the pan. he is saying there is nothing on the table and nothing cooking in the pan. why would it matter if there was a FORK in the pan or not? Also it was not written by fogerty just covered by CCR

Thanx, I'm glad you think so. Thanx again for your continued support
Agree!
Very cool.
thanx
Where is the c cord?
Can anyone, please, explain me that strumming pattern?
Down - DownSlap - Up-Down-Up - DownSlap?

Thanx again!!
What’s the strum pattern
Do any of your vids show the lyrics and chords so we can work through the song with you?
I'm afraid, the idea is to practice the chords to where you can play along with me like we are in a kitchen playing together which is how I learned. Good luck with it and thanx for tuning in
Great lesson! Thank you very much.... but..... where the f** is the C chord?!?! 🤯 I can't see it
He tunes the guitar down to a D , plays this in the E form
Yup that’s how he does it, but not how I do, channel name
Is easyguitartunes, keeping it easy on purpose
What happened to the C chord?
Beautiful
But don’t be afraid to let that voice out even for the intro!
I didnt get the c. You didnt play it that i could see
How do you get a nice sounding voice? When I sing it sounds like a rat dying.
C chord?
Better without slap thingy imho ( grates after a bit) but good lesson otherwise👍
🤗🤗🤗🤗🎉🍻 🙏🙏🙏🙏
fogerty did not write this song, its just his version of an old song that dates back to the 1800;s
Yes you are correct and if you read the info I have provided for this video you will see that I clearly mentioned that
The way you play your A is weird to me. I know it's an A7 but like you said it is the same position as an A.
I am lucky that my fingers are big enough that I only need 2 fingers to press down on 3 strings. I can also manage to lift up my finger a bit to play the A7 when required. Just a little trick I came up with years ago. Thanx for watching and Happy Holidays to You and Yours!!
no pork up in the pan
Gah dammit
the C is the first C from CCR lolll
so its G,D,A7,D no C
yup sorry for the confusion
I missed the ..C..
Yeah where's the c cord
Forgot it was acoustic which is odd because he plays a les Paul
lead belly
great lesson only criticism is you got the lyric wrong. it is no food upon the table no PORK up in the pan. he is saying there is nothing on the table and nothing cooking in the pan. why would it matter if there was a FORK in the pan or not? Also it was not written by fogerty just covered by CCR
Or listen to Proud Mary a bunch of times.
Love this song and love your videos, but Leadbelly wrote this song
me too, Thank you and thanx for the footnote
where is the C chord? lol
sounds great btw
Easy lesson, there was never a C chord.
Cadd9
It's just dropping 1st and 2nd fingers down one from G
that's a 3chord song...no C...just saying...
Great lessons but you must play through the song first so we have something to latch on to.
?? I play the whole song!! Is that not good enough?? lol
Just want to say wow dude great work just found your vids tonight and have listened to alot so far and i have to say its the best.. have you already done roller derby queen by jim croce that was the first song i ever learned how to play
