Don't take for granted the people who makes the plans or think that we are "fine" with it because it's exhausting. Especially after a while you realise if you don't make the plans, they will never check in or initiate. To me, that was the point I realise this wasn't worth it because the effort is not there
Amen!! I recently ended a friend relationship by not initiating anymore and they acted like i was the only one at fault. I still feel the loss since i considered them one of my ride or dies but honestly I’m done being a convenience. I have more self worth now
@@ricac.8677 I’m currently in the process of doing this. The last straw was the other person telling me they didn’t have anymore vacation for what would be a weekend trip that wouldn’t require time off work. Just be honest and say you’re not interested in what I have planned. I’ve realized that they will never do anything with me that involves them traveling more than 40 minutes away.
Oof, this one was rouuugh to listen to as an autistic person. Not that there's anything wrong with what you described, just the kind of friendship I think a lot of us long for and might struggle to access! Particularly what Becky said about neighborhood friends made me think of how that was sort of the obligation as a kid, and I'd be made to go play with them, but it was mostly just abusive. I think a lot of autistic folks do best communicating online, which is awesome and accessible, but it has the downside of "oh shit there's literally no one on my emergency contact list." 😂 Sending love to all my neurodivergent extended fam who might be struggling with this episode ❤❤
Rainie, you are truly an incredible person. The questions you ask, the genuine interest you show, and the fact that you remember things about people or that they've told you! I am so impressed that you remembered and were so interested in knowing more about Becky's best friends. It reflects a lot about you. ❤
The first part of this podcast is so refreshing to hear! I spent my teenage years lamenting that I never had a best friend as those closest to me have their best friends. I'm turning 30 this December and I have about 6 friends I consider to be my best friends. And I totally agree that you can have different best friends based on your relationships with them! It's totally normal and healthy, and I just wished my younger self had known so he didn't have to spend so much time being anxious about his friendships and focused more on building those relationships and creating great memories.
Can you do an episode on dealing with greif? I lost my brother to suicide and ive been having a really hard time since September! Thank you so much yall are the best!
There’s a few episodes of miles podcast perfect person where he talks about grief and it big time resonates/hits especially if you’re also dealing with something similar. Hugs to u 🩷
@@averymccarthy5228 ill go check them out! I just like hearing different ways people can deal with such a tragedy also thank yall so much for the kindness
I think, ideally, your partner IS your TOP best friend. There are for sure different levels of intimacy. My fiancée is my best friend, we’ve known each other for over 10 years and we’ve grown up with each other. So there’s no secrets that we discover later 😂.
Her makeup and hair always looks nice, but it's the type of shirt that caught my attention, looks like sth that someone who's preggo would wear to hide it, but maybe it's just that kind of shirt.
As someone who works in retail (for over 5 years now), it still boggles my mind that people don’t have any common sense in the general public, no common courtesy on space
I definitely think there’s a difference between best friends and life long friends, but they don’t have to be mutually exclusive. I would consider my friend L my former best friend, but always will be my lifelong friend. We were inseparable in middle and high school. We went through some crazy life experiences and stuck thru it. After HS we drifted apart. We now talk maybe once or twice a year. But I also know that if something huge happens in my life or hers - death of a parent, wedding/engagement, etc - we will drop everything and be there for each other. When my mom suddenly passed away, I didn’t even have to call L - she was there. When L got engaged and was having a big wedding party (because she’s going to have a small destination wedding) she invited a good chunk of people we were friends with in HS and most people didn’t come - but she knew I would drop everything and rearrange my schedule to be there, and told me when I arrived that she knew that no matter who she invited she knew she could count on me showing up. That’s a life long friend. Neither of us would say we’re best friends anymore. But life long friends? Absolutely.
Yeah! Becky! ❤❤❤ I love y'all too much. It's always fun to listen to this Pod. like it is always so calming and it gets me out of my head specially when I am struggling emotionally/mentally. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
On Sunday I witnessed first hand how someone was run over by a car. So your advice “look both ways before crossing the street” is really important and also please DO NOT drink and drive
I am so sorry you had to witness that. How sad and scary. And obviously sorry to the person who was injured, of course, but seeing something like that has to be traumatic.
I have a suggestion for the Podcast….can you do a live podcast and do it in the next 4 to 6 weeks? I would pay money to watch and ask questions on that podcast. My wife of 38 years is my best friend, I have 7 brothers and one sister whom are also my best friends. We would do anything for each other and will forever. We love the show. Love Keith and wish he would all you can eat a White Castle. Thanks.
There is a game the lot of us play when which the Sit with Us podcast and the TryGuys podcast when they are in the studio and it is, “find the White Polaroid Camera.” We have built mini bingo cards and if the location of the camera is like , “ on books to the right of Becky” then you get to fill in that square. Usually the prize will be a piece of Merch from the Try Guys or a dinner somewhere, (just not Peter Lugers). Can’t afford that. Thanks for being so cool.
Future talking topic in regards to touch sensory, my kiddo is almost a year now. Some days I’m just so touched out by the end of the day. Balancing that between kid and husband can sometimes be challenging. I’d be interested in Becky’s take on that when she comes back from leave.
I did chuckle a bit when they said you should think about things if you feel drained after hanging out with a friend. With the level of introvert I am, I find most interactions - even with people I love and look forward to - to be exhausting after the fact. You wouldn't think on the surface - I'm the planner, the bridge, and group leader at times - but when I need to recharge, I will definitely mosey myself away to do so 😆
this is so relatable! i’m the biggest introvert of all my friends but i’m also the planner, leader, and photographer friend. hanging out is almost always exhausting, but so rewarding :)
21:59 i have experienced the opposite scenario. My best Friend for almost 20 years wouldn't even think of me in the top 5 of her best friends. so that hurt. (i did later in uni find acquaintances who treated me better than my school/childhood friends)
This was a great topic! I myself have my childhood friends, high school, college, and pianist friends :D and I love it! my friends that have the same diseases as me (Multiple Scleris🧡) of course, there were some people that I had to stop being there friend because they were too much for me and I didn't like it
So as far as Besties, in my late teens and early 20s I felt a bit sad not having a BFF I had know since grade school because my family transplanted into our town when I was 13. But it was in my 20s that I actually found my ride or dies. Soni guess who I consider my besties are my actual great friends who I stick with and who will stick with me no matter how often we go without talking lol. I have my Church Bestie, Doctor Bestie, Hippie Bestie, Geeky Bestie and Nerdy Bestie. Yes, there is a difference between the nerdy and geeky besties 😂
I remember at my first job, i worked at a store in a mall. It was the weekend and it was super crowded. And this elderly lady literally grabbed my crotch and butt and shoved me out of her way so she could get around me.
I know yall have to be careful of who and what you say but im just wondering if yall are still friends with Ariel? If so how is she doing? Thats my only questions.
It's not great to assume, but-- if she is, it's probably because it's extremely traumatic to announce that and then have something go wrong before it's finished. Besides, she doesn't owe an announcement to the greater public so she's not "hiding" anything
I 100% think she is. I noticed in the past few videos her shirts are becoming baggier and she is always placing her arms in front of her. As much as I wish her and Keith would share the news, I do remember her stating in past videos if they had kids they would not share them on social media. Which I totally understand and respect, but adoring fans just want to wish them the best.

The colour of her top really compliments her skin tone. She is looking very rosie and fresh. Wondering what her skin care routine is....
