No drama in explaining how it's done. Even though I've replaced the battery on my key fob almost 2 years ago, that span of time can make one forget the steps on how to do it and videos like these serve as an instant tutorial just to recall the initial steps and everything would come back. Thanks for this.

This is so helpful- one caution when removing the battery, use downward pressure so you don't lift the buttons out of place on the other side.

Thanks so much for making this video. A mechanic just told me to take my key fob to the dealer to have the battery changed. When I said I could probably find an instructional video on RUclips, he said: “Oh, don’t do that, you could break it. Better to take it to the dealer to have the battery changed.” I’m sure glad I didn’t listen to him because I followed your instructions step-by-step and my key fob is working perfectly. BTW, I’m a mechanically-inept 82 year old female. If I can do it, anyone can do it. Just follow these excellent instructions.

If you wanna be successful, you must take responsibility for your emotions, not place the blame on others. In addition to making you feel more guilty about your faults, pointing the finger at others will only serve to increase your sense of personal accountability. There's always a risk in every investment, yet people still invest and succeed. You must look outward if you wanna be successful in life

Most people would call the dealership and tell them what's going on and they could be honest but still they're ripping you off either way by changing it for you for 50 bucks or they could really get a gullible person and say the whole fob needs to replaced... by using a simple scan tool to reprogram a new fob... still charging you like 200 bucks for a new one

Be careful when you separate the two side of the keys. The entire fob fell apart on me along with all of the little components - took me a while to get it all back together - pain in the butt. Btw, if you were wondering, replacing a Honda fob takes 3-4 hours and it's about $400 bucks at the dealership - the car and key must be programmed together! Big pain. I was going to replace my fob, but after hearing the $400+ price tag and 4 hours, decided to double down on my efforts to put the fob back together - it worked and saved me $400 and having to deal with snarly Honda service people. I waiting for the replacement battery. Honda - big rip off.

Yeah, all the little face plates with the lock-unlock-trunk-hold images fell out and were a pain in the butt to put back together. I had the horrors I was going to fail and have to shell out $$$$ for a new fob, but with patience and care I was able to put the "puzzle" back together. I detailed the procedure in my comments elsewhere on this page. The current date is Oct 24, 2022

Easy! Thank you. It took less than 5minutes!!! The last time I changed my battery at an auto parts store and it took 20mins. Clearly the dude didn’t know what to do.

VERY Helpful video! It is super easy to just go to the store for a battery and do this yourself. Only problem is, I have dainty little fingers and had to ask a man with strong hands to help me snap the plastic back in place at the end. But still, RUclips vid and $13 for a four pack of batteries is still killing it even with inflation in 2024. Thank You!!!

Thank you so much for this. The warning showed up on my dashboard today, glad it was so simple to change. I already had that size battery, so it didn't cost me anything. Awesome!!
