@@OdinMakes Considering the Eye of Agamotto, Aether, and the Tesseract you built, that's three infinity stones down, and three more to make. So in the next video can you make either the power, mind or soul stone? (A side note: If you make the soul stone, try to make a diorama of Vormir.)
@@OdinMakes 😬😬😬😬 oh I saw! Excited to see what you crank out with it. If you don’t have one already order a power adapter for your camera because it needs to be on for a long time to take all the pics
Odin! Try using alcohol inks to dye the color on your translucent resin pieces, and then hit it with a clear gloss krylon spray clear coat. That will really make them look more translucent and allow the color to pop!
I made one of these out of EVA foam for the main body, and packing foam for the red parts! But that was a while ago, before I got my own 3D printer. I might follow this video to make a new one.
This looks great! I definitely like your second attempt at the clear red pieces, they looked much more translucent and glowy. Your trick of mixing acrylic paint with rubbing alcohol is genius too, I used that to repaint a small Mechagodzilla figure and the paint stuck way better than if I had thinned it with water
Looks amazing, I think I would have used a layer of the red pvc round the full lantern, hopefully that way any light leak would be red but that's just me. Keep up your great content 😀👍
The real star of this episode is that bottle of Future, the secret friend of every modelmaker that builds kits with clear parts or wants a glossy clear acrylic topcoat. Bonus points because it hasn't been sold with any mention of Future on the bottle for a decade.
Nice to see the messing up parts left in the main video and if you can find files for them you could use the printer and the wash and cure system to print them or a parts of them at least. Stay safe all.
Tips from my experiences: Dying the printed translucent pieces with alcohol inks before curing works well. Mixing the ink directly with the clear resign works even better. Painting the inside of all the non-translucent parts chrome will prevent wasted light but using adhesive mirror stickers works even better than that, if there is room for their thickness. Those mirror stickers are good for the inside of recessed light fixtures in your home as well.
@@OdinMakes very very same. Now I'm working on a full size space marine. Thanks in part to the wonderful foam cosplay community on RUclips, yourself included.
Hey Odin ... just watched it again. I loved the whole assembly and puzzle of trying to get it to stay together while sliding everything in. I was trying to troubleshoot in my head as I know I will run into something similar with a prop in the future. Would rubberbands have worked? Nothing too tight ... just enough tension to keep the sides from dropping to the outside?
That looks super good and I really like it. Can you please make Loki’s scepter? Just so you have another infinity stone and to go along with the Loki series.
Ah! It's one of the containers for the Infinity stones before Thanos added them to the gauntlet. This one is from Thor the Dark World, so I can understand why you don't know where it's from!
so we have the Tesseract with the Space Stone, this container with the Reality Stone, The Eye of Agamotto with the Time Stone... have you done Loki's Scepter yet?
Cool prop, but why didn't you make the sides into a single piece first, by gluing the red and black parts together? Then all you had to do was slide the sides in. It probably also would've helped if the black and red had the same thickness.
It is sad that Thor: the Dark World had some very important elements for the Infinity saga, but the movie was soo dull. I am excited for Love and Thunder!
@@OdinMakes Yeah, a bit like age of ultron TDW means a lot for the Infinity saga but unfortunately, didn't live up to expectations. I'm sure Taika won't let us down with Love & Thunder though
@@OdinMakes Possibly not. But having a filament printer, I'd probably have a bit more leeway for adjustment. I'd also try to build-in metal pieces to hold threads. i.e. make voids in the model and pause the print at the right height to insert reinforcement before the bridging over the top. That's something I don't think is possible for a resin printer. And on the model-modifying subject: The problem you had with the 3-piece walls might have been helped by modifying the clear parts to include overlap behind the top and bottom, then gluing them together so the walls are effectively one piece, rather than 3. I actually have clear, black and gold filament too...
Next time, try removing support material before curing. For tougher, heavy supports, after washing run the piece under hot water. This softens the thinner supports and they peel off like velcro.
YESSSS!!! I'M SO GLAD YOU DECIDED TO USE 3D PRINTING BRO! I'M a 3D artist! If you need any 3d model for printing for you channel or for you it would be an honor!!!!
I have 2 more questions. 1. Can I buy the Kong axe from you and, how much would it be 2. For the plastizote foam they no longer ship to Canada so where els can i buy it.
I really do like this printer, and the Wash & Cure makes it enjoyable to use! I am going to be printing more Leia stuff for Felicia's poncho build. You are welcome to drop by the shop if you are in the area.

I know hindsight is 20/20, but 3D printing the sides in transparent red and painting the sides leaving only the center would have left you with only 4 side pieces instead of 12 side pieces. I would love to Odin take on some weapons from Warframe. Like the Lex Prime, Skana, or even the Galatine Prime.
Looking good there, Odin. I was wondering, have you thought about making all three of the Mother boxes from Justice League? Seems like a fairly easy build, could even light them, too. 😉
that gold came out great!

Odin: I lied, as I have from the very beginning

The engineer in me is seeing ways to build that using threaded rods to pull the lid and base together, and screws to hold the "handle clamp".
