      Wirtual is pretty good consistently able to be in div 1. But he doesn't specialize as much as some of the other top players so while he has the chance to win he tends to be the underdog.
      He's not bad and saying underdog is a bit of an underestimating of his skill he's definitely a top player.
      As the video states. He never got first until the last round meaning if any other round was the last round he would have lost. He wasn't the beat player but he was consistent and good enough (again saying good enough feels like understanding his skill)

    • @gigitrix
      @gigitrix 2 года назад +60

      It's because it's so accessible I think. Other games have complex rules and things that the viewer must know as a prerequisite. In trackmania the skill ceiling is still there for players with all the tricks like the precise speedslide angles mentioned, but it's way more captivating as a viewer because "car go faster" is all you need to be equipped with to engage with the content

    • @liamlifts
      @liamlifts 2 года назад +20

      @@gigitrix thats exactly what I was thinking. Wirtual really plays into that idea of accessibility by taking 2-3 minutes at the beginning of this video to explain mechanics and divisions before getting into it. He never really does that in his other videos, at least for so long and with a voiceover. He is definitely trying to allow this video to be seen and understood by a wider audience since he feels this one has a greater chance of success because he actually won. It's a good strategy, and it clearly worked based on the original comment here.

The odds always seem stacked against you, whether that be pros considering you not worth the competition or the sea of strangers who know not who you are. Every one of these videos you drop has displayed insane gamer knowledge that rivals that of well like you stated in the video: professionals of their craft who have been honing their own skills for years. It's so entertaining to watch & I'm so happy I discovered you when I did, thanks for putting out these even if it's not consistent, I welcome every video with a warm smile & confidence knowing you are truly someone worth backing & supporting with levels of dedication & passion to boot.

    What’s funny to me is that Dan probably got a lot of first place wins on the races where coming first didn’t matter nearly as much as not coming last. But on the final race, the one where coming first does matter when it’s either first or last, he lost it to Wirtual. It sounds like something you’d hear in some war quote book.
