    I bought
    Taking control of your fertility
    Because of you and wow!!! I am so mind blown to many things
    Thank you for taking the time to educate all of us
    I am 26 years old and just about a week ago found out really what a menstrual cycle is.
    All I was taught was that I could get pregnant!
    The book says its best to start charting on your first day of your menstrual cycle but I’ve already started doing BBT and what not,
    I’m so excited!!! Thank you for this video as well because I am in the process of figuring out how to check my cervix so I’m glad your video is the first one I ran into!

    I really am excited about this method, but feeling more and more worried. I just went to my doctor today, to end my birth control prescription. She pretty much laughed at me and then said “Do you want to get pregnant?” I’m 18. I definitely do not want to get pregnant. She kept trying to insist on an IUD, a patch, or trying a sixth new pill. I’m really excited FAM, I just got the book “Taking Charge of Your Fertility” today and I like it but it’s still not making me feel anymore confident about the risks of pregnancy. It’s really hard to feel confident when the doctor yelled out at me on my walk out the office “Hope you don’t get pregnant!” I’m all registered for you FAM course online, I’m really hoping that will give me some reassurance as I really don’t like the Pill and feel like it has been forced on me for the past couple of years. I really feel like you’ve helped open my eyes about something I’ve always felt wasn’t right for me, thank you so much and keep up the amazing content!!

      Unfortunately, doctors aren't taught FAM or the sympto-thermal method in school, and so often their understanding is "Oh, that's the rhythm method which doesn't work." (It's not even close to the same). And on top of not having the education about FAM, they don't have the time to teach it in their office. Don't be discouraged by their lack of understanding. Keep educating yourself. When used correctly the sympto-thermal method is 99.6% effective.

      thank you for replying! Your last video helped me a ton and I'm doing your chart your cycle course now. After starting my first week of charting I feel tons better! Its so scary to hear that from a doctor, I'm in college now so a baby is really not ideal right now!! Haha, your class is great I love how easy it is, all my friends want to quit their HBC now too! thanks again!

      Hi I’m going through the exact same thing right now. I told my mom I want to stop taking my birth control bc it made me feel so emotional and anxious and she doesn’t think it’s a real method. She wants me to talk to my doctor about it and I already know she’s going to react like this. Do you still use this method and what do you think about it now??

      @@Hopey124 Hi there! How sweet to see this years later and... YES! I still use this method (going on 3 years, and smooth sailing!) and love it SOO SO much. It's definitely one of the best choices I've made for myself in my entire life. You have my support 100% of the way and know that it's your body your choice. In the end, you don't need anyone's approval but your own. I know it's easier said than done in the beginning but after that first choice to trust yourself its easy. If it's helpful, I use the Daysy now, which is a medical device proven to be more effective than the pill (take that mom! ;) I know it's a bit pricey, but I saved up and used birthday money, and it's a lifelong investment for me. I would totally recommend it. Also, there is "Natural cycles", or just charting yourself! I'd love to hear how things go for you and keep me updated!

    Labor and delivery nurse here! I feel like it would be very difficult to check your own cervix/reach it? I know nurses who have checked their own cervix during labor but only when they were already 4-5 cm and low. Really cool though how the cervix changes throughout our cycle!

    I am considering the FAM... I have been taking hormonal bc for 6 years now. I have no idea what my period is like without it. But for the past year I have had consistent acne. My acne only clears when I'm taking the week of sugar pills. Does anyone know a reason for this? I haven't found any answers yet. I also just ordered the taking control of your fertility book!

    • @FemmeHead
      @FemmeHead  6 лет назад +1

      I don't have an answer to this, but since they are placebo pills that might be a good sign for your acne clearing up if you get off the pill.

      BC is designed to harm instead of help, in most cases. Use condoms when not trying to get pregnant. Use without when you are. BC I have seen so many women of color contract blood clots that could be harmful. BC took my hai out. Check with trusted doctor to insure you don't have forming blood clots!

    Hi :) you’re saying that cervical examination can’t be used alone but the sensiplan method allows for it to be used with bbt without the use of cervical mucus and states that both and equally as effective and don’t need to be used together. Is there any reason you advised against it?

Not trying to get pregnant but trying to figure out my cycle after stopping BC pill after taking so way to many years. If you feel it and have the lotion white fluid does that mean period is coming?

    I'm on the contraceptive pill and there is a lump at the very end of my vaginal canal about a finger deep in, it hurts when I press down hard on it, is this my cervix or something I should worry about

    • @FemmeHead
      @FemmeHead  4 года назад

      Sounds like this could be your cervix, but I would do a quick Google search on how to check your cervix and it shouldn't hurt when you touch it, but without knowing how hard you're pressing or whether it could be bruised just know you can always chat with your doctor about this!

    • @awesomeanimals2668
      @awesomeanimals2668 4 года назад

      @@FemmeHead thanks for the reply, it could be bruised as I was involved in sexual activity a couple of days ago however nothing hurt during this and I did not bleed during or after. I'm taking the contraceptive pill over my period for the first time so that might have had an affect as I am due on now usually. I did press it relatively hard and I felt round the part that I think is meant to be the hole which felt different to the other pats and bled slightly I initially thought that this was to do with me going over my period however the first result on google for a lump is cervical cancer I'm freaking out

    Do you use condoms only in your fertility window?

    • @FemmeHead
      @FemmeHead  6 лет назад +1

      I recommend using condoms cycle round for the first three cycles of charting. Then you can start using them only in your fertile window when you feel confident and comfortable with charting.
