  • I recently ran into an issue when I updated the firmware for my capture card, causing it to constantly show audio metering even when no audio was hitting the card. This video shows how I was able to fix the issue, which was actually quite simple once I figured it out.

    Three years later, this stupid-simple fix still works! I had updated my LGP2 Plus firmware a few days ago, and for the life of me I couldn't figure out why the metering was happening. I plugged in a PS4 headset I had lying around, did exactly what you did in the video, and the metering is gone!
    I'm guessing that the headset volume settings reset with each firmware update, and this fix will probably need to be done every time the firmware is updated.
    It may seem like a dumb solution, but in reality it's a lifesaver. Thank you so much!! 💖💦

    thankyou so much it wasn't only doing it visually you can hear it, it's still metering half way but thanks to your fix I can no longer hear it in desktop audio or the stream when I playback god send man thankya!

    You're a genius! On my PC, it was driving me crazy trying to figure this out. Worked like a charm. By the way, this is a really bad UI feature for LGP2 Plus, not a fault on user.

    This is awesome and worked perfectly to remove the static in OBS audio output thank you!
    I do now have static anytime I speak into my mic though.
    It's a Blue Yeti X (micro-USB from Mic into USB of PC) going into a GO XLR (3.5mm audio to mic 3.5mm on Go XLR).
    Would you happen to know how to fix? I also have a ground loop isolator being used.

    Would never have figured that out myself. Thanks!
    EDIT: Never mind, this has disabled the capture card's audio in OBS entirely, and changing the mic volume on the card doesn't even bring it back 😭

    Oh my God! I though I was the only one who experienced this wonder of discovery discovery xD It was so simple I really felt stupid. For a moment, I thought my hdmi port or cable are broken or the headset plug movement causes some noise or distortion... After many painful hours I thought to myself "what if I just press this button all the way down" and it just fixed all the background noise... However, another problem I have with this device is that the volume of all the footage I capture (either from consoles or PC in the standalone mode) is quite low and I don't see any settings for it in Recentral, or I am probably looking in the wrong place again :P

    Hi. I thought pressing the audio button on the capture card would record the audio. Is there any way I can disable that so the audio gets captured?
    Edit: Do I just press the plus on the audio button?

    • @LeoSypniewskiMusic
      @LeoSypniewskiMusic  3 года назад

      Plus and minus will only effect the mic input. The audio from HDMI is always being recorded unless you disable in recording software

    • @LeoSypniewskiMusic
      @LeoSypniewskiMusic  3 года назад

      Game audio should be coming through the hdmi cable and party chat would be going into the front of the capture card, and both would show up in the audio input of your capture card, you’ll have to make sure you keep some volume turned on the front of the capture card to still pick up party chat

      When I stream I always have a 250ms delay on the audio, I think it’s because it’s a USB 2.0 connection, it seems to always have a bit of an audio delay. Could definitely fix it in editing but yeah it’s nearly impossible to stream it without an audio delay

      I don’t fully understand the question, you may just need to create an audio output capture for desktop audio if you haven’t yet

  • @Maalouf132
    @Maalouf132 4 года назад

    is there a way I can get my desktop audio running through my headset connected to it ?

    • @LeoSypniewskiMusic
      @LeoSypniewskiMusic  4 года назад +1

      No unfortunately you’ll have to monitor both your desktop and game audio through some sort of mixer if you’re trying to hear both the computer and gaming console at the same time, unless you just monitor the capture card through OBS but you may notice latency

      Your microphone must not be going into the system correctly, the avermedia requires you to plug your headset into the capture card (don’t mute it like I did) and then run the microphone output back to the console

    Hey Leo, this helped me out big style so thanks for that! However I'm still having audio issues whereby the party chat audio can't be heard in obs only game sound. Any ideas ?? Anyone had this also? Cheers

    • @LeoSypniewskiMusic
      @LeoSypniewskiMusic  3 года назад

      the voice chat comes through the port that I tell you to turn down in this video, so you'll have to turn it back up at least once notch to hear it. there's also options like chat mic cables made by elgato to help split it up. i used an astro mixamp because it was just too much of a pain to not have a separate output for stream. anyone who owns a goxlr or any sort of mixer should probably just use that for their audio instead of the capture card.
