Great video! One tip- instead of a spro swivel on the front, I've been using the 'spro power swivel combo'. Allows you to run the front stinger treble hook with a split ring to the treble instead of the bobber stop method. Less finicky to rig if you're switching lures
the ole johnson silver minnow has done me well over the years..especially if there is some vegetation around- its quite weedless..thanks for another informative lunchbreak vid!
Best teaching channel on RUclips no doubt your subscribers have gone up by 100k since I started watching u guys and that really wasn’t that long ago AMAZING
I just wanted to say I love the videos. Thanks for all of your hard work. You guys make me a much better fisherman. I don't wait for notifications for your videos anyway. I seek them out on my laptop so I am not dependent on Google. One more note. I double up all the time... on tree limbs. :-)
Nice video Tim. I haven't used a spoon before, and if I buy any more tackle, I think my wife would start to question how much money I'm spending on fishing/tackle. lol
Have you guys done a video on different rods for different techniques or applications? I’m sure you probably have, but I think it would a beneficial video for amateurs or people who are just getting their feet wet in the sport.
Id like to thank you guys for showing me about a swim jig. Ive been throwing a terminator jig with keitechs mostly all summer and spring. And now ive been destroying them during this fall transition in new jersey on these pressured lakes . i. Located a school yesterday from the bank and destroyed them thanks
Literally caught a 3 pounder today on a bare treble hook tying to snag a buddies lost rod and reel today! Chickamauga is an incredible fishery it was in the mouth the fish seriously bit a bare hook.
Try the spoon on Fort Loudoun/Tellico Tim. We're two bodys above you . You can lock through at Chickamauga and then Watts Bar. The spoon recks in the last week of September on TVA water
TIM You are never going to believe this, I go to this one lake by my house. It’s a pretty big lake, but it just seems like after June 30 the fishing for bass shuts off. I went from pretty much the end of June until today trying to catch a bass there. I’ve thrown everything in my tacklebox. Nothing has worked. I watched this video of you yesterday, I tried the technique of jerk jerk, jerk jerk real hard… With authority. Guess what? The second jerk I nailed a bass, and then it was one bass after another. I even gave you credit for it on my channel. I mentioned you a couple times and hopefully people will watch your video on it. Thank you for the information, it was very helpful. Very blessed to have you doing these videos. Check out the video on my channel, it’s titled bass going crazy. “TD Mayday” is my channel. I love you guys! Keep up the great work.
I know this is not an easy topic due to the lack of information out there because no one cares but. Can we do a video on the patterns of bait fish; Blue gill , perch, shad , gizzard ECT but especially the bigger bait fish , blue gill and gizzards. Maybe, what they need to servive where they go seasonally and why. And when, how they spawn and how to know what's going on. ESPECIALLY BIG GIZZARDS in my opinion the number 1 giant bass most of the year
I know this video is old but do you think this would be a good method to try when you’re getting big schools of stripers boiling and most of the top fish are smaller stripers in the big ones are down lower I’m just not sure if it would work the same with stripers if you could even get it down past the littler ones
This is a technique that I've really been wanting to try. I live within a hour and a half of Logan Martin, Neely Henry, Lake Mitchell, Lay Lake, Smith Lake, and Guntersville. Which lake do you think would provide the best opportunity to use and learn how to use the flutter spoon
Hey Tim, Great video! How would you address an area that has quite a bit of current? In the body of water I fish, there is a channel dug out for the ocean liners, that provides nice sharp ledges, but it also has lots of current. Should I cast up-stream and guide the spoon down, picking up lots of slack? The opposite seems counterproductive because the current will be pulling away and taking up the slackline... Thanks for your time! Jason Montreal Canada
I like fishing creeks for smallmouth, and I have an old 4'9 ultra light spinning rod I found in my house. I started to take my 2000 reel off one of my spinning combos and switch it onto the smaller rod when I fish creeks. I like using the smaller rod because the fight is a lot more fun on that rod and its much easy to carry around when I'm walking through the woods. The rod is super old and has little to no sensitivity. Do you have any recommendations on small ultralight rod and reel combos?
I know you want Matt’s opinion and not mine 😂. But I have a Bass Pro shops Carbonlite ultralight with a bass pro shops tourney pro 2000 spinning reel. 10 lb braid to 6 lb floro leader. I love it! Have landed 4+ lb smallies fishing super light Ned rigs.
I've recently started throwing big spoons. I don't know what is about new baits and me, but just about everytime I throw a new bait I catch a big crappie instead of bass😂. I caught a 1lb 12oz crappie on a 3/4 oz spoon on bull shoals lake in arkansas, but that's it. I'll continue to try and catch bass on them. Thanks for the info Tim.
Sadly RUclips is not sending email notifications any longer. You have to go to your RUclips page and click the notifications bell in the upper right hand corner. I did receive your notification this way. But if you have been waiting for an email notification you won't see it.
Perhaps they went back to the old way.. but YT sent out Emails saying that they will not be sending out Email notifications for new videos. replies Yes but not New vids.
It works better without a swivel in my opinion. With a swivel it spins like a willow leaf spinner bait and falls faster. Without a swivel it flutters side to side like a dying gizzard shad.
I love how Tim is teaching out in middle of nowhere but really he's all in on every cast trying to get one .true fisherman

Moosehead Wobbler spoon, worked for me last week, thanks for the advice.

That is a heck of a sleeper lure. Redfish love it too!
Never miss a video, even if it’s not my style of fishing
I got my notification on his video.
Me too!

🏆🏆 400K by the end of 2020 🏆🏆
Tim, how come you don't put the bobber stop around 1/4" from the hook? Why give it three inches to move around? Thanks for the video!
Never used a spoon
learned a lot .. Will try one next time I go
Give us a walleye fishing video. Lost a nice walleye at my feet yesterday and need to live vicariously through the pros. Also I got the notification
Awesome video thanks 😊😊
Thanks. We could use this snagging all day

Damn I get a lot of divorce attorney adds when I watch fishing videos. 😂. Nuff said.
Sorry to see you guys leave California but still here.
Just bought my first spoon last week. Have another spoon ordered. Very timely video. And I got my notification for the last video.
Thanks Tim. I catch them on every type of spoon but the magnums. We've got big Spots, LM's, Gizzards, and Threadfin. I'm gonna figure it out.
Thanks for that video have seen those spoons but not tried them will pick some up.
Great video!
What about trolling these flutter spoon?
Effective?
Great video. I have been wanting to try it. Now I have your tips to get me started. 👍🏼
Great video guys thank you!

Are you suppose to take off the single hook as stinger & add the treble hook or use both?
Try the spoon on Fort Loudoun/Tellico Tim. We're two bodys above you . You can lock through at Chickamauga and then Watts Bar. The spoon recks in the last week of September on TVA water
Can you please do a vid on fall transition for Smallmouth!
He better watch out, he might get a striped bass doing that over in this neck of the woods.
So this is a freshwater slow pitch jig?
Keep up the great videos!!! 👍👍
Great video 🔥🔥

the good ol spoon😊😌🤣
Finally caught my first spoon bass on Independence Day! Lost 2 good bass and caught 3 sandbass on the Magnum!
Maybe its not as popular but I'd love to see u guys do a night fishing or late late afternoon fishing video
I got a notification for Matt's last video. This one too.
Great video.
I could buy Texas spoons twenty years ago for less than 5 bucks. Now media has ran the price up over 20$. We love you, Cabelas/Bass Pro!
I have caught many walleye under those bait fish too.
I can’t get a notification on this channel for some reason, every morning I get up before football practice and check if they made a vid.
They upload every MWF, any other day is extra.
Those front hooks, and the overall technique, are very similar to an offshore technique called slow pitch jigging!
can i put a snap in front of the spoon and the swiwel beetwen the braid and the fluoro carbon leader?
Instead of doing the stinger on the main line could you put 2 stingers on the split ring? 1 on each side of the swivel
I have XL bobber stops that are perfect for this 👍
How do you use the spoon for rivers with current
Hey Tim,
Great video....Is that a prototype TacticalBassin hat you are wearing?....Details?...
Thx, Dan
Just put a flip flop on a hook. Catch big bass this fall.
how do you fish these spoons in lakes that have a ton of grass on the bottom like shearon harris
Gaston as well. Not every has those hard bottoms like Kerr. I feel like we would just come up with 5lbs of grass instead of 5lbs of bass.
When you link rods and reels in the description anyway you can include the length and stiffness of the rod. Also gear ratio of the reels you use
Gear ratio is included but it varies by brand. For example with Shimano XG is 8:1, HG is 7:1 and no letters is 6:1 👍 Hope that helps!
Would I be fine using a 7’2 MH for flutter spoon?

Tim would you use any different techniques or smaller spoons targeting northern MI smallies?
I don't fish braid to leader. As a beginner to flutter spoons, would I be better off with straight fluorocarbon or straight copolymer?
Awesome 👏
Need a link to that hat

Smith I would try.
will that technique work for on shore Salmon fishing
I got my notification on his video
Looking forward to trying the Spoon. Thanks
My lake is a stained lake, 2-3 ft visibility. Will this technique work well?
What lenght of the leader?
If u were to pick just 1 spoon to use what would it be
I have to try this .
How long of a mono leader do you recommend when using braid?
How long is your leader?
really want to get good at his i end up just yo yoing a blade bait silver buddy
What in tarnation is that hugenormous thing in the thumbnail? Is that for bass.
We need an underwater spoon cideo

Yeah I'd probably cast up stream. That's what I've always heard is best, and what I've had the most success with.
How do these flutter spoons differ from the old fashioned Daredevle or Doctor spoon? Thanks.
So could we bank fish this?

Does the Ben Parker magnum spoon come stock with the dual stinger hooks on the front
There are two models, one it does and the other it does not..one tacklewarehouse they've got both
Mouthzone. I like it.
👍
It won’t let me turn on notifications. It says turned off for content made for kids

I was just about to ask if y’all could make another spoon video. It’s around that time
Perhaps they went back to the old way.. but YT sent out Emails saying that they will not be sending out Email notifications for new videos. replies Yes but not New vids.
Does it work well fishing it like a hairjig? Like a reel reel reel reel let fall to bottom. Reel reel reel reel let fall to bottom? Thanks TB
I also got the notification
I live in northern wi. Would these still work
I caught some in Apple Canyon Lake in WI on the 4” version. Good luck
Spoons are an old school bait that have worked almost everywhere for a long time.
It works better without a swivel in my opinion. With a swivel it spins like a willow leaf spinner bait and falls faster. Without a swivel it flutters side to side like a dying gizzard shad.
It gives nasty line twists though.
@@aboveaveragebayleaf9216 you don't get line twist with a casting reel.
@@robertlane370 not as much, but it still puts twists in the line after a while
@@aboveaveragebayleaf9216 disappears when you reel it back in. Line twist doesn't effect casting reels.
Please don't forget us because in my opinion the inner lakes have better bigger fish
That is a huge spoon.
Mammoth Spoon. 😮🥴
It was probably a carp
🤔🤔🤔👍👍👍
Skip to 18 minutes and avoid all the jabber.
