you guys have the unique ability to give people like myself the confidence to throw a lure for the first time after watching one of your vids!!! thanks for that
Seriously, though, I am a beginner. Videos like this really help demystify lures from the, "Just cast and retrieve!" advice I've seen in so many places.
Been fishing flutter spoons for years. This is one of the best spoon rigging and technique videos for numbers I've ever seen!!! And the fastest 16 minutes too lol. I have tons of aggressive spotted bass so I have to use the heaviest spoon possible to get through them and then I barely flip-flop it on the bottom, basically just roll it over, for the big Largemouth. If I flip it up more than a few feet, another aggressive pesky spotted bass on lmao. The spots annihilate the Shad balls and many of the shad that don't get eaten are actually knocked silly by the spots and either float up and get eaten by the birds or fall to the bottom and get eaten by the Largemouths. I love my hair Jigs this time of the year too but for the cold water Shad die off coming soon I stick to just barely flopping a spoon on the bottom for the big fish. Excellent video and audio quality Tim. I don't know how it can get any better had no trouble hearing you in the Wind and my phone is a cheap piece of crap...
Thanks a lot Tim for the in depth rigging and fishing of the flutter spoon. I’m fairly new with bass fishing and this video was great. You and Matt have the best fishing channel on you tube. Thanks again!
Great video-Maybe my favorite way to fish Been rigging them as in the video with good success Recently; I’ve been experimenting with having the swivel 2ft up from the spoon and then tying direct to the split ring. (Main line to swivel, then short 2ft leader of mono to the split ring/spoon). Definitely more flutter and wider, more erratic side to side wobble and still eliminates line twist
This was a long time coming! Love seeing TIM out on the water. The pull and take or the description of the feel as it flutters was great. This is one lure that has always intimidated me. I literally bought my first spoon two months ago and it’s never seen the water. I’m gonna have to try!
We need a skipping video!! I know Tim did a great sock video not to long ago but I’m curious to see how both of you approach docks and skip jigs and other baits! Maybe even with a curado DC! Love the video, fishing a spoon this week!
Perfect timing for this video, I am planning on throwing them this fall and see if the monsters are eating the huge ( 6"-12") gizzard shad. Its a bonus that I can throw it on a swimbait rod also
Great video Tim. Haven’t fished a spoon in a very long time that you have inspired me. :-) Plus, we’re about to enter that summer/fall transition where they really shine.
Good video Tim! I noticed the link for the Dobyns in the description was incorrect. You were using the Fury Series. Great rod IMO. Use it all the time for A-Rigs and deep cranks. Not quite a broomstick but a tough rod.
I must have overlooked your mention of the length of leader that you use with this technique as well as the type of knot that you prefer. It would be very helpful to have the length of leader and knot type used down in the description.
Great video guys! I just got a couple of the Sexy Spoons in today and look forward to trying them here in MN this Fall and early Winter before the lakes ice up!
When do you use a flutter spoon vs a jigging spoon?. Is a jigging spoon only useful when vertical jigging or can you cast it out and work it back to the boat like a flutter spoon?
Thank you, I had no idea how to use the flutter spoons properly Especially the Parker spoon ( I do not own one cause didn't know what to do with it or what equipment to use, fishermen are a wee bit secretive 😈) Tim thank you, I enjoy both you and Matt ( I know Matt and met you once at the ISE show in Sacramento) but I mostly concentrate on you, I come from a finesses background similar to you. Thank you again for this very needed lesson Take care
What advantages does this have over lipless crankbaits being yo-yo off the bottom? Also if your using spoons for vertical jigging suspended bass how do you know your in the zone effectively?
this is the best instructional fishing video ever...personally (confession time) I have lots of trouble trying to fish a %&*#@^& flutter spoon...ignorance of ignorance is the worst ignorance of all...now I better understand what I was doing wrong...thanks...this is the best fishing show anywhere...
I want to try this on my lake that has muskies and stripers along with 7-8lb bass. Will the mojo bass swimbait rod work? It’s 7’10 heavy fast action 1-4oz. It’s pretty stiff. I use it for muskie fishing it work great for that
Tim I bought that G-Loomis 904 IMX pro rod earlier this year and can't figure out what baits to throw on that thing. Any suggestions besides the flutter spoon? I was thinking deep cranking but haven't tried it yet.
One of my favorite ways of fishing. Beats the bore of drop shotting. Problem im running into is, my lake is flooded with hungry pickeral and pike. Will the bass still hit at the same rate if i put a thin steel leader on there? tired of loosing expensive baits to those toothy pricks. Thanks.
Probably have figured something out by now, but if you make the leader some HEAVY fluro (80+ lb test), they have trouble biting through it. Might want to change the leader after a couple of pike, but that way it’s still mostly invisible compared to a steel leader.
Are flutter spoons for clear or mostly clear water only? I fish the upper Lake of the Ozarks, in Missouri, this water is not very clear, 12" visibility on good days.
In the description, it states 6" is the standard size. That makes me think there's a lot of 6" brands to choose from.... but only the Ben Parker 6.5" is mentioned. Are there other makers of a 6" spoon?
I am up in NH I don’t have shad in my we have a ton of smelt and White perch that is the only thing I think a that spoon would imitate is I worth a try
The Daiwa .8g Presso Vega Spoons can be cast by most finesse rigs. Flutters out of sky like a big wounded insect. I have had fish jump up and hit it before it hit the water.
how many feet of mono do you put on the reel?? thanks guys love your vids, some of your techniques (because we don't have a very good population of big fish) helped me catch more and bigger fish and i'm from portugal ;)
Great show, can would you do a jigging spoon video as well ? There is a company that I use, I don't want to post that here on your channel, but anyway I love throwing a spoon ! The smaller flutter spoons are popular in SW Missouri too. Thanks
is there any kits yall would reccomend that can get me a good assortment trebble hooks split rings and barrel swivels? even if the kits are sold sepertly?
So who's the big spoon, you or Matt? Lol jk but have u tried the Jenko sticky flutter? It's 8in weighs 3.5oz but the best thing is that it has a swiveling treble hook built into the middle towards the head of the spoon, i love it. Literally thrown it in a pond that's 10 feet deep from shore an caught em.
you guys have the unique ability to give people like myself the confidence to throw a lure for the first time after watching one of your vids!!! thanks for that
Spoon challenge?
Big spoon vs little spoon
Spoon vs spinnerbait
Seriously, though, I am a beginner. Videos like this really help demystify lures from the, "Just cast and retrieve!" advice I've seen in so many places.
Love your vids, your wife’s traps are ridiculous .

Because he's using a camera, not a cellphone.
Still by far the best and most informative fishing channel on RUclips.. Thank you both and glad you're recovering well Matt
Thanks a lot Tim for the in depth rigging and fishing of the flutter spoon. I’m fairly new with bass fishing and this video was great. You and Matt have the best fishing channel on you tube. Thanks again!

You guys! After every vid, I want to go out and buy more stuff. You're killin' me...lol. Nice job Tim. Looks like fun.
This was a long time coming! Love seeing TIM out on the water. The pull and take or the description of the feel as it flutters was great. This is one lure that has always intimidated me. I literally bought my first spoon two months ago and it’s never seen the water. I’m gonna have to try!
Very interesting listening to the tips on these! I've never tried them and have always seen them at the store ! I'll have to grab some !
Fished that same rocky area a few days ago and coincidentally caught some nice ones on a spoon. I like your way of thinking
Excellent video! Very detailed. Need to try this now. Bass are deep here in about 82 degree water.
We need a skipping video!! I know Tim did a great sock video not to long ago but I’m curious to see how both of you approach docks and skip jigs and other baits! Maybe even with a curado DC! Love the video, fishing a spoon this week!
Ditto for the skipping Video!!
Perfect timing for this video, I am planning on throwing them this fall and see if the monsters are eating the huge ( 6"-12") gizzard shad. Its a bonus that I can throw it on a swimbait rod also
Great video you guys have the most informative videos ever... Wish you guys would come do some fishing in the southeast of the country
Definitely going to try this! Been getting smaller fish all summer, just not going deep enough, thanks guys!
Excellent video Tim. Very thorough and very clear.
Love this I don't think anyone ever has done a how to on spoons like this
Awesome! video, thanks for the info. I'll be trying this technique this weekend. Tight lines.
Another great video Tim. Thanks. Glad Matt is back also.
Awesome video I learned something new today. Never even heard of a flutter spoon I'll give it a try
One look at this video and I knew you guys must be somewhere in norcal with the smoke. Awesome to see such a big local channel
Great video Tim, you and Matt always have good information to share.
Thanks Tim as always great information
Your videos are super informative!! Thanks
Great video Tim. Haven’t fished a spoon in a very long time that you have inspired me. :-) Plus, we’re about to enter that summer/fall transition where they really shine.
Thanks for sharing this awesome technique. I've tried it and works 👍
one of those in my tackle box im going to try it thanks tim good video
Thanks Tim... great video. Cool way to rig the spoon. Definitely going to try that with the stinger hook! Thanks
great tips with the stinger
Good video Tim! I noticed the link for the Dobyns in the description was incorrect. You were using the Fury Series. Great rod IMO. Use it all the time for A-Rigs and deep cranks. Not quite a broomstick but a tough rod.
Thank you guys for all your videos and info you share!
I must have overlooked your mention of the length of leader that you use with this technique as well as the type of knot that you prefer. It would be very helpful to have the length of leader and knot type used down in the description.
Works great in saltwater too. Jig para lures come rigged already. I prefer a single hook in the back and braided assist hooks at the head.
awesome video Tim
This is the video i been waiting for! You read my mind!
Checkout the Rapala X Rap Scoop 14. It has the action of a flutter spoon with two trebles and a internal rattle. Killer detail to top it off.
Great video guys! I just got a couple of the Sexy Spoons in today and look forward to trying them here in MN this Fall and early Winter before the lakes ice up!
Great video with excellent detail...good job Tim 👍
As always, Great Video. I learn so much from your videos. Keep up the great work and keep them coming.
Can you do a video on how to read a graph for offshore fishing like finding brushpiles rock piles etc.?
I’m definitely going to add this to my arsenal
Are working an isolated area like a shad ball or are you retrieving all the way back to the boat? Thanks!
When do you use a flutter spoon vs a jigging spoon?. Is a jigging spoon only useful when vertical jigging or can you cast it out and work it back to the boat like a flutter spoon?
Great video Tim
hi, what brand of flutter spoon you recomend ?
Thanks Tim! That's one lure I've never been able to connect with.
Thank you, I had no idea how to use the flutter spoons properly
Especially the Parker spoon ( I do not own one cause didn't know what to do with it or what equipment to use, fishermen are a wee bit secretive 😈)
Tim thank you, I enjoy both you and Matt ( I know Matt and met you once at the ISE show in Sacramento) but I mostly concentrate on you, I come from a finesses background similar to you. Thank you again for this very needed lesson
Take care
Curious, for the swivels and split rings, black or silver? Does it matter? Thanks.
Thanks for the tips
Love the video keep up the great work and expanding our minds in the fishing world. 💯💯
Hey Tim! Does the stinger hook ever rise above the bobber
stopper?
How and what did you attach the hooks on the magnum spoon with?
Awesome vid I want to learn how to fish them cause they can absolutely catch em.
What advantages does this have over lipless crankbaits being yo-yo off the bottom? Also if your using spoons for vertical jigging suspended bass how do you know your in the zone effectively?
Solid new subtlety in the intro!!
Do you guys every fish inline spinner and if so how do you fish them. Like rooster tails and Panther Martin's for bass etc.
Thanks for the tips! Great vid.
Have lost so many 10xds on that point! Say Hi to Mr Bobcat, he always prowling around on those rocks!
this is the best instructional fishing video ever...personally (confession time) I have lots of trouble trying to fish a %&*#@^& flutter spoon...ignorance of ignorance is the worst ignorance of all...now I better understand what I was doing wrong...thanks...this is the best fishing show anywhere...

I personally use an Alx Expert Ben Parker swimbait rod 7'10 Extra Heavy Action Casting rod.
Tim I bought that G-Loomis 904 IMX pro rod earlier this year and can't figure out what baits to throw on that thing. Any suggestions besides the flutter spoon? I was thinking deep cranking but haven't tried it yet.
great video... when are we going to see the rest of the videos on using your electronics?
Maybe tomorrow 😉
Used this bait for a few weeks now. I been smashing bass with it. Like always, grest tips! Thanks!
Do you ever add a swivel to the bottom hook? Would that ruin the action?
can i put a snap in front of the spoon and the swiwel beetwen the braid and the fluoro carbon leader?
One of my favorite ways of fishing. Beats the bore of drop shotting. Problem im running into is, my lake is flooded with hungry pickeral and pike. Will the bass still hit at the same rate if i put a thin steel leader on there? tired of loosing expensive baits to those toothy pricks. Thanks.
Use the fly fishing bite Tippett for leader
Probably have figured something out by now, but if you make the leader some HEAVY fluro (80+ lb test), they have trouble biting through it. Might want to change the leader after a couple of pike, but that way it’s still mostly invisible compared to a steel leader.
Next level ish. Thanks for sharing.
can u still gt them to hit in dirtier water .havent had much luck with bass but i have caught walleye on slab spoons
Interesting have never fished a spoon for bass. Will have to study up on it
Have you used the new River2Sea Worldwide spoon yet?
Are flutter spoons for clear or mostly clear water only? I fish the upper Lake of the Ozarks, in Missouri, this water is not very clear, 12" visibility on good days.
What knot was that you used to attach the spoon the main line?
In the description, it states 6" is the standard size. That makes me think there's a lot of 6" brands to choose from.... but only the Ben Parker 6.5" is mentioned. Are there other makers of a 6" spoon?
How do these flutter spoons differ from more traditional spoons like a Len Thompson or a Daredevle?
what is the best color of any spoon u ever fished with I know the chrome spoon has lots of pressure on bass
Two things how long is your leader line? And how are the IMX Pro compared to other rod in its price range?
Is that bait or are you fishing below the thermocline?
Jeez talk about beautiful scenery.
Tim
Have you ever played with the coverstrike treble guards? I wonder how effective they are...
Thank you for this video!!
I am up in NH I don’t have shad in my we have a ton of smelt and White perch that is the only thing I think a that spoon would imitate is I worth a try
tank you good description
The Daiwa .8g Presso Vega Spoons can be cast by most finesse rigs. Flutters out of sky like a big wounded insect. I have had fish jump up and hit it before it hit the water.
I have never used one before i might have to try it out tight lines
how many feet of mono do you put on the reel?? thanks guys love your vids, some of your techniques (because we don't have a very good population of big fish) helped me catch more and bigger fish and i'm from portugal ;)
Good stuff, thanks!
Where did you get the eyes to put on that spoon
Great show, can would you do a jigging spoon video as well ? There is a company that I use, I don't want to post that here on your channel, but anyway I love throwing a spoon ! The smaller flutter spoons are popular in SW Missouri too. Thanks
Is there such a thing as finesse flutter spoons? I don't have a rod that heavy. What weight would we be talking?
Will they wrk ponds?
@Lane Seaman excellent tip Lane!
What is exact name of that spoon? Tried to find it on TW without success.
@@WarEagleTheBest They link to every product In the description of every video....
is there any kits yall would reccomend that can get me a good assortment trebble hooks split rings and barrel swivels? even if the kits are sold sepertly?
Right on time.....thk....
Cool vid!
Looking for a good Swimbait rod, one that can handle slammers and bull shad but also Huddlestons. Anything you recommended ?
ruclips.net/video/d6miH7WncMM/видео.html
I won another tournament yesterday🏆
I'd like to know how much money worth of fishing gear you guys have. lol the amount, and quality of gear you guys have is mind-boggling.
Spotted Bass tutorials!!!
How long of a leader?
never used a flutter spoon goin to Roosevelt in a couple weeks have to get one
Does anyone have any experience trying this same 6" setup for walleyes?
