    Wow man, awesome tips throughout the entire video. I found myself around schools of bait fish this past weekend and while I did catch some, I was surprised I didn't get more...but then you give me these great nuggets. Now I know exactly how to go target them. Love how you make it so easy to understand and explain the WHY behind things. I think a lot of times people just want a lure to throw instead of considering the WHY that lure works in a specific situation and on a specific body of water. Thank you my friend. I think I am going to dial it in today and see what the results are. I will definitely let you know. Last great tip...I probably am going too fast and need to slow down. God bless you guys for being so generous with your knowledge.

    I really like the Underwater Photography taken to demonstrate the different baits. It really helps a fisherman understand just how the lures are manovering through the water. Keep up the great work guys. Thanks Again Matt.

    Shootout to you both Matt Allen and Tim Little because of your videos this being my first year ever bass fishing has been great. My brother was teaching me and with the help of ya'll videos, made my fishing experience a real delight! Thanks Matt for the great under spin lesson. I fished a 3/0 flashy swimmer with a 3.8 Keitech today in our club tournament. I had never fished an under spin before but I am glad I did today on lake Hartwell. I won the tournament and caught the big fish, a 4.4lb largemouth! Thanks again and keep up the good work. JBowen

    I really appreciate the information. Also I really appreciate your in depth analysis of why these techniques help catch more bass. All around one of the best channels about educating anglers on RUclips. Also I really appreciate that you are so humble and modest especially since you are so educated about modifications to baits and where the application helps catch more fish. Please keep up the great work.

    Been fishing underspins for as long as I can remember. One of my favorites is the originator that I didn't hear you mention and thats the roadrunner either the plain underspin or the bucktail. Both work good but the roadrunner bucktail is probably my favorite I've caught a bunch of different species in both fresh and saltwater on that bait mainly with a simple twister tail for a trailer.

    Another amazing breakdown. I wish I had seen this 2 weeks ago when I bought some Blade Runners. I would have gotten some of the screw locks as well as the standard. I like that the screw lock has a smaller blade. That being said I have been smashing them in a local river on 1/4 oz and 3/8 oz with 3.3 and 4.3 swimbaits. I had no idea underspins were so good.

    Matt, I've been fishing the Coolbaits since they came out. I recently noticed they now make an "XL" version... All you're videos talk about the Coolbaits yet when it comes to the heavier underpins ( 3/8 - 1/2oz ) you seem to opt for different brands... Is there a reason you don't use the Coolbaits XL ? Thanks

    Unrelated to underspins, but a month ago you recommended the GLX rod as a versatile option to fish a myriad of techniques. I know you and Tim have been fans of the Expride so how do they compare? Looking at investing in one or the other in a 7’2” MH. Your thoughts? Thanks!

    Btw our Illinois State Record smallie was caught late Monday night in downtown Chicago. Epic and I mean Epic amounts of effort by a large number of us to assist in keeping her alive to be released this morning back into the lake. She spent all day yesterday and last night getting the spa treatment with assistance from IDNR biologists to make sure she had fully recovered. Google Chicago Suntimes new smallmouth record including her release video. It was incredible to be apart of it

  • @gws1980

    I dunno about underspin... I thought the whole point of a spinner was to reflect light to mimic the way fish scales will flash when sunlight hits at the right angle? But if the fish is under the spinner, sunlight won't reflect downward will it? It can only reflect up back towards the light source.
    Also, since you ask what type of videos we'd like to see, if you've never done this before could you do a video or series on what specifically each type of bait is imitating in terms of natural food sources for fish? Like what is a ned rig or a senko imitating, or a spinner, etc. I feel like understanding what your bait is trying to imitate will help people better fish with that bait.

    If a bait ball looks similar to a cloud on your screen, how can you determine the size of the bait fish within the ball?

  • @azbikerider49
    @azbikerider49 5 лет назад

    I have some questions. #1 Does it not matter that some of those baits have two eyes on each side? That doesn't look "normal" or natural. #2 What's the point of having hook size standards if they vary from brand to brand? #3 what's the difference between leader line and using regular line for a leader? Thanks.

    • @DaiMasters

      If it's legal where you are put out a baitfish trap and/or throw a castnet and see what you catch. Match that hatch.

    • @pdbandit1
      @pdbandit1 5 лет назад +1

      You may be able to see the bait fish? It depends on your waters and the depth they are at though too. 3-4 inch is usually a good starting point, at least here in northern Ohio.

    • @markbuckallew4689
      @markbuckallew4689 5 лет назад +2

      Also, a lot of the time (when you do catch a bass), they will spit up a minnow, shad, crayfish etc. "pay attention" to not only "what" they are eating but the "size" of bait....then match the hatch.

      But guys he says there are always small bait fish in the fishery. So to know what there eating you’d have to cut one open right? If they don’t spit one up. To have one spit up their lunch you first have to catch one! And wouldn’t different size bass eat different size bait fish?
