Yeah, I'm in that boat sort of. A relative helped me get a standard PS5. Would like a Pro, but NOT at $700 and the disc drive is separate (additional $150). That is just f'n insane. And I'm convinced that the Pro is so expensive to help recoup the cost of the financial disaster that was Concord. Concord allegedly cost Sony $400+ million, they scrap the game and then they release the Pro for $700 with the disc drive separate. F'n ridiculous.
These are all from display units and returns, they also sometimes have brand new units that have just been reboxed due to having their retail package damaged during shipping. I really don't think these could all already be returned units.
Well, based on the smoke smell and the scratches, those was an used model.. nobody scratch them multiple times without unboxing, if it's just a damaged packing, only one side should be scratched, not the whole device even under the cover and especially not just the ports area..

Some of these machines could be refurbished from the returns of faulty Ps5 Pros. My first one I received kept shutting off on its own but only when not gaming. It green screened and shutdown while browsing the store and another five times it shutdown while downloading games with the TV off. It wouldn't turn back on with the controller and first press of the power button it just beeped and didn't turn on but would work the second press and would always say the console wasn't shut down properly and had to rebuild the database. There were quite a few people on Reddit with the same problem. Replacement console was fine, never shutdown.

theyre 9 times outta 10 not actually refurbished rather sold to them brand new and never used but are considered "refurbished" because GameStop HAS TO open the packages and inspect and service them in order to ensure that 1.) the console is in the box and 2.) the console is in working/playing condition, thus removing the "Brand new" (or similar condition) from it's label. i had a NEVER OPENED Xbox OneS from my job and asked GameStop about selling it to them and they told me the bad news. it can't be sold to them "brand new" it HAS to be opened and serviced after it's sold to them at a discounted price BECAUSE IT WAS OPENED due to THEIR policy🤦♂️

It really isn't that different from your dad buying it for your birthday and using it himself for a couple weeks before he gives it to you.
@@Lordoftheapes79 i still feel its not too much asked of them to clean it before selling it at almost the same price as a shiny new one. and i would understand some dust but this channel is full of consoles with physical damage and that look like they were taken outside and rubbed on the ground intentionally. but maybe its just a social media illusion that people keep their homes relatively clean😹
@@kahvikissa_ sure, but you're trying to generalize specific cases. The vast majority of these refurbished consoles go to their second home and you never hear of it again. Even with this one, he had to tell us about the grime and smell. That makes me second guess whether it was real or if he was just fishing for a few extra clicks.
I would rather them keep it dirty then magic eraser.
I'm going to blow into the controller and introduce moisture to electronic components instead of snapping my fingers. What, wait, this is strange.
Such bad traditional RUclipsr Influencer acting in this video. "Wait, what is this?"
I don't plan on ever buying a PS5, since I decided to build my own gaming PC. But if you ever want to give one away, I'd be more than happy to take one so that I can still play with my friends on Dead By Daylight, which is what I am using my PS4 for right now.
Once you relies
1: 99.9% of games do not, and likely will not receive a Pro update.
2: You still lag down into 30-50 fps un dense areas, and cities or anything that requires CPU power due to its archaic cpu.
That's when you start to understand truly how much you wasted your money. And even without the disk drive after tax you're looking at close to $800.
I sold mine, built a gaming pc. God, I couldn't be happier lol I now have full control over everything and can make SURE i have a solid locked 60 or 100+.
P.S I did sell it on facebook marketplace.
That's the way. Pc gaming is also cheaper if you do the math.....
Here; take this gold star sticker ⭐🥴
I want to get into PC, but probably won't until Steam Machine 2 happens (there's rumors Valve wants to make a new one to get into the console market)
I just don't want to build a PC, or use browsers or programs I just wanna play games and mod
@@nok4799 For sure I look forward to checking out the Steam PC OS> It'll let you do it all with a more refined interface. :)
lol trust me on this, here in this town the colored stickers are to give the buyer the false impression that we actually did anything close to an inspection, an actual refurbishment? lol, don't expect it folks.. it kinda goes like this in the backroom...... we power them up we wipe them down we power them up we wipe them down we power them up we wipe them down
bro acts like he bought a ps2 like dude its a ps5 what the hell could be wrong with it 😂😂
It amazes me that GameStop is still operating.
Wow, I was debating on picking one up but the blowing in the controller is a no go for me. I can do without it after that...😮
Gamestop will unfortunately soon be closing all stores near me in Germany.😭
Thank god
That sounds like a good thing
Dropping vids like crazy I love it, W Jacob
i got my wife a refurbished ps5 from gamestop, it played fine for the lite games she plays, but soon as i booted up BO6 for more then 45 mins it would shut down, im assuming it was an overheating issue due to not enough thermal liquid. i didnt even bother trying a warranty, i knew i would get a run around and a no, i waited for black friday sale and went and traded it right back to them and got a great deal on a slim.
thanks for making this video! I was debating saving $65 on a refurbished or used, if I do even upgrade to the pro, but now I’ll def stick to New. 😂
NO NVME LEFT IN? HAS THAT HAPPENED ON ANY PS5?
Yes a lot of people bought the pro then returned it when they saw zero difference for 800$. 2 of my friends did just that. It is not worth buying!
Should send this video to Gamestop because obviously they're not checking the mics on the controllers.
It’s like buying a console from a flea market. WTF. Just pay a little more for a NEW one with one year warranty.
Old ps5 horizontal stands going for a mint right now 👌
he after giving a LOT of money: lets spend a LOT money.
I got the same thing in the bottom of my laptop? those green and purple stickers.
I feel like the controller is from an older ps5
It seems disc drives are still hard to find. It was easy for me to get mine being a member for a game store
in every universe this is not right
The pro does not come with a stand, it's sold separately...
I got a series x brand new for 500 its the same thing why pay 300$ more for it waste of money greedy sony
Definitely not the same thing PS5 pro has way better graphics and frame rates plus any new games coming out for PS5 from now on will all be PS5 pro enhanced.
@@Lockdown-k7qthey both run 120 fps 😂
@@Chapy1189O wow so that's pretty much the only thing Xbox series x has going for it it run 120 frames but graphics wise it's definitely not going to be on par with PS5 pro.
At these prices we really are seeing the mid-range PC master race pull a switchback maneuver on the console market; allocate for some more up front and anyone can easily build a highly competent 1k gaming machine that has far reaching utility with noticeably less expensive games available most of the time, full bore emulation, deeper libraries and options for upgrading down the line that don't require an entirely new machine.
Gamestop preowned "refurbished" controllers. Ive bought 2 now, and both had stick drift before i even used it....
Who else was expecting just a box in the console no wrapping nothing
the fact they throw used stuff people bring into stores and call it "refurbished" and charge near full price. its a scam. kind of like shopgoodwill, but thats a whole other series of videos.
Probably using the barely used controllers as top end 2nd user retail so they can bung in older controllers with the console.
If it was a vape you wouldn't smell it, vaping in no way smells like cigarette smoke...
I would also rather plug my controller charger into the back, it looks better.
A simple cleaning is considered a refurb.
makes sense considering the non nintendo console market is dying while the PC market is rising
You should check the model of those controller, if they are 3rd gen or older, then they definitely weren't the original PS5 pro controller, as those should come with gen 4 or even gen 5 controllers
As someone who hasn't had a PlayStation 5 yet, I'm actually hoping that there's a price drop on the pro by the time GTA 6 comes out. But if I already had a ps5, there's no way I would justify buying the pro.
For the same price get ps5, portal, different colour plates and extra Duelsense
More likely Sony will have a price increase.
@@Tunedawg23 you make a good argument
@@NeverB_Gameover no, consoles don't ever go up in MSRP
Display model from target or Walmart?
People really use console USB ports to charge controllers?
Major Retails shop overstocked on PS5 Pro inventory fully stocked ....slaes slow .not many buying 😂 the new games not like the old dayz ....plus i cancelled Sony big on Censorship😮
So every console that was brought used either didn’t have the right wires or it was some other issue yea not worth it to save like 75 bucks
When I realized PC is the only platform to play new House of the Dead Remakes with a lightgun. I figured consoles are sort of pointless.
I always buy new. most of these are teens needing money.
My controller mic didn’t work on astros playroom but it does actually work in other games so idk maybe Astro has issues
I was 50/50 about buying a ps5 pro, but its basically 950 usd here in Sweden- and the switch 2 comes out next year, thats the big issue.
I should spend 950 usd to play better looking ps5 games while I need to buy a switch 2 as well? nah, I rather re-play my old ps5 games with better graphics when ps6 is out.
Watching you open something used from GS actually makes me physically ill.
Did you check the settings when testing that controller mic? I had to do that on my console.
700$ and still hardly any games to play
Them consoles were likely left on 24/7 on game shop floor
You're not gonna smell a vape... I vape in my house and you literally can't smell it at all.
Hate to break it to you… but you can’t smell it because you’re the one smoking it everyday lol. I’ve literally smelled vape remnants on 10+ consoles at this point.
@jrob0021 You're smelling cigarettes and you can't tell the difference. When people come to my house I've asked them if they can smell that I vape in my house and they can't tell . It's not smoke it's water vapor.
At that price point I'd just but new. Don't want scratches knock off accessories and potential issues.
Refurbished is just a nicer word for second hand with a wipedown
They do not "Refurbish" they literally rebox the items and sell as "refurbished"
Known people who have purchases refurbished and consoles were full of roaches etc
Packing on that first box actually didnt look too bad at all imo
Just did my react. Kool video brother. GameStop as usual: womp womp
Less than 2 months an already have refurb Pros?? Not a good sign.
Even a Facebook Marketplace PS5 Pro is better than a GameStop refurbished one.
Its easy, people buy it, see its a waste of money and return it. There, refurbished ps5 pros for sale.
How much is a refurbished vs preowned vs new?
You would think they would make it 600$ for first year
Hi Jacob, do you ship to the UK on the qr codes in the video?
I don't think you should blame GameStop for this since they themselves aren't the ones who repair defective or damaged products. They send said products to third party repair companies before they are put back on the shelf in the refurbished category. I personally own a couple of refurbished consoles from GameStop and have not had any real issues with them.
This guy doesn't really care, he's just farming views to make a living by bashing GameStop which is low hanging fruit at this point. GameStop as a company is doing phenomenal but no one wants to admit it. If the company is really bad like many say then why is it's market cap at 14Billion dollars...?
I’ll just stick with my launch model ps5; thank you very much!😏
theyre 9 times outta 10 not actually refurbished rather sold to them brand new and never used but are considered "refurbished" because GameStop HAS TO open the packages and inspect and service them in order to ensure that 1.) the console is in the box and 2.) the console is in working/playing condition, thus removing the "Brand new" (or similar condition) from it's label. i had a NEVER OPENED Xbox OneS from my job and asked GameStop about selling it to them and they told me the bad news. it can't be sold to them "brand new" it HAS to be opened and serviced after it's sold to them at a discounted price BECAUSE IT WAS OPENED due to THEIR policy🤦♂️
Don't buy a refurbished ps5 pro and you won't have to complain about cigarette smell
"Cex" in europe sells ps5/pro more expensive than new ones 😂😂😂
What do you do with all of these consoles you buy from GameStop and DK? Do you just return them after the video or resale them after you refurbish them?
I didn't kno people shopped at gamestop.
That thing looks cheaply made 😬 the ps5 and Xbox series X look and feel solid but this looks like it came from Ali express
