- Tangerine Dream style ratcheting sequence sent via midi to these five synths. System 55 modular also added around 3 minutes in. These synths have never had a problem with tuning (give model D 10 minutes) and sound great, some of the Wasp knobs are a bit flimsy so OK for home studios but live gigs would require a fairly cheap backup. I know people dislike the Behringer clones but for me on a low income they help me experience the legendary sounds I like at a price I can afford. I am retired on a UK state pension.
I see a man living his best life. Never apologize for buying gear that makes you happy.
He didn't break a bank to buy these synths. All stuff he Has is very affordable.
I need you to persuade ky wife to buy me a Keystep pro.
Mr. Tones, I'm in the same position as you. Nothing wrong with getting what you can afford. Ive got a bunch of Behringer gear too and it's great.
Cheers ✌️
It's not "people" who dislike Behringer's synths. Synth-snobs hate them though, because Behringer destroys their elite club and makes decent synths available for you and me.
noppes , it's about ethics and copyright issues
It's not just about ancient remakes but everything behringer has done over the past 3decades, bullying smaller companies , copying visuals to amke it look like the original etc..,
but I guess you don't give a shit >
Uli is a cunt , simple as that
Behringer rocks and do the job that everybody wanted since ages and no original constructors did.
And now elite people who bought old gears at indecent prices are unhappy that people can get the same sound at 1/10 of the price they paid.
All musicians must be happy that a constructor democratized analog instruments by selling them at very low prices, and probably some people that would never buy the original one before will do it one day because they discovered it by buying the cheaper version first.
as a uk based older guy i fully approve of your set up man i have also been buying the berhinger synths and using a beatstep pro and keystep to play them, nice one :)
I wish the keystep had real wheels I don't like the touch controllers.
That sequence could go on forever in my humble opinion :) In a few days I'll be joining you (somewhat!) as I have several Behringer bits arriving, I bought the 960 Sequential Controller, 962 switch, the CP3A mixer and a Eurorack case. I'll stick my model D and Neutron in there too but anyway, my first experience with modular. Like you, I've no issues with Behringers clones of older vintage stuff, it's not as if they were the first to clone Moog stuff for example. They're not really replicas as they add Midi and stuff. Moog modules may have been QC tested better and calibrated but they still use Mullard C210 tropical fish capacitors and carbon composite resistors of exactly the same type that nowadays cause sizzling noises in hi-fi amps and radios of the period. Though I'm working, there is no way I could afford or justify paying £100s for one original Moog 900 Series module. Behringer is allowing me to fulfill a bit of a teenage dream in being able to recreate TD's '73-79 era in my spare room.
Great sounds. It even sounds good from RUclips. Very open sounding, even in headphones.
Insane setup !! !! ✨✨🎧🎧Thanks for sharing !! 👌👌
Enjoyed it! Creating these sounds looks like a lot of fun! Thanks 😊😊😊😊
The cases and set up is kiiiiilllleeerrr
I'm building something like this as well with all my behringer stuff with 8U and 12U rack mount cases. I have two 2600s and most of these except the Kobol and pro1. I put the rack sides on my Deepmind 12 to mount it in the rack as well. Only bad thing is the deep mind is 5U tall so it throws it all off lol.
Tuning analog synthesizers while the sequence is running can be tiring, especially if there is drift. I prefer to do it while in stop with the keyboard attached and possibly with my Korg tuner as a reference. Thanks for sharing! 👍
The tones was my main goal in this short demo, when I care about the tuning I use my strobotuner
At this stage I only have the model D but I mean to duplicate this collection soon myself

Thanks for the sub!
awesome👍👍
(Affordable) Wall of Sound 🎉
cool jam :)
As far as B clones only vintage gear, not currently in production ones, there is no problem.
@VykaarTones what are your thoughts on the 'Kobal Expander' ?
I really don't 'need' another semi-modular unit., though the 2600 was always a thought back in the day.
[went overboard a few years back when getting re-started and have two 'D's, only using one.]
The Kobol has a unique sound which I really like. My earlier videos show it off better.
Hey that amazing. And we can hear the difference between the different synths. And what is that sequencer?
960 sequential controller
Bellissimo arp, non apprezzo Kobol, si CAT, model D, Pro 1 👍
I like them all but tuning is harder on the Kobol
Nice Düsseldorf School
What eo you think is a better purxhase between kobol and model d? Which sounds better, fuller, rounder, beefier?
Model D sounds like a Minimoog which has been used on many records and is easier to use. The Kobol has a unique sound used on many dance tracks. Both can make big bass sounds. They are quite different synths but a secondhand model D would be my first recommendation.
If u are looking for lead base go for the model d. If u want gritty or more experimental sounds go for the kobol. I recommend them both.
What is the gray module bottom left
RX1602 mixer
@@VykaarTones thank you
How was ratcheting made?
Quite a complex setup with a 960 sequencer being externally clocked and that same clock also going to a Doepfer A-160 5 ratchet controller. The pitch CV from the 960 and the ratcheting gates from the A-160 5 go to a tubbutec Utune where it gets converted to midi to drive all the synths. The random CV which controls the ratchet timing comes from a Doepfer Dark time sequencer in random mode, half visible top left.
@@VykaarTones Thank you. That's great
