Taking Behringer's new Kobol Expander synthesizer for a spin in this analog hardware jam.
Halfway between minimal and melodic techno with a heavy dose of Berlin School. Featuring Behringer's Kobol Expander, 2600, Neutron, Pro-1, RD-8 and TD-3-MO. Sequenced by the Five12 Vector hardware sequencer.
The Node and Tangerine Dream influences are strong in this one.
Sounds great. Mine is coming this week.
Thanks! I hope your new toy is arriving soon. Have fun!
Sounds absolutely fab, thsoe oscillators give such a clear crisp sound.
Thanks Metamerist! Those oscillators are something special indeed.
great track, only just found it due to me suffering from GAS, and looking into the Kobol at the moment :-)
Thanks Koos! The Kobol is continuing to scratch my itch even after 5+ months of having it. Anyway, hope you find a new toy to have fun with! Thanks for tuning in.
Nice jam my man. 😀😀😀
Thank you double oh seven!
@@electronictiger 👍
I dig it
Happy to hear you do, yodahunter. Thanks!
very cool, nice sound.
the snappiest envelopes are part of the original features of the kobol , and then they just have to replicate the original envelopes .
Thank you Jean-Louis! Yup, they are absolutely wonderful, those snappy envelopes. I like them a lot.
Sounds amazing! Would pair awesomely with Behringer Reverbaration
Thanks Voreshbo! That upcoming spring reverb by Behringer looks very interesting indeed!
Get mine delivered today cant wait im like a kid at Christmas ❤ cool vid
Thanks! Exciting times, getting a new toy is fun. What do you think of your Kobol so far?
@@electronictiger from vids i have seen the sounds. Are amazing and slightly different to most other gear i have listened too. Mine should be here in a couple of hours so i let you know what i think. Thanks 😇
Cool! I hope you're having fun with it already. Waiting for your new toy can tedious. Looking forward to hearing what you think of it! Have fun! @@iloveACID
@@electronictiger yes have used it for a few hours. Really fun to play with. Got some amazing sounds. Still got lots to learn. Thanks subbed ☺️ happy days.
. One thing i add its not to big so i have taken off desk with other equipment. Plugged in my roland j6 as a midi keyboard and sitting on sofa learning. Got a long train journey tomorrow might take it with me and train jam it 😁
Congrats! Got mine too, can't wait to fire it up! Cheers!
Love It! Just ordered mine! Thanks for sharing, great track!
I'm very happy to hear that Malvinus, thanks!
Whenever I have a new toy incoming I feel like a little kid again. The joyful anticipation of it arriving and getting to finally play with it.
Have fun when your new instruments arrives!
I hope to order a Kobal from Sweetwater soon. I plan on connecting the Kobal to my Neutron. My master keyboard is an old Roland 88 key stage piano, which is very old but has good MIDI implementation, and the ability to split the keyboard, as well as transposition of the keyboard. I use my Microfreak for background arpeggiation, and sequences run through my POLYCHROME flanger, which sounds intense. Great presentation my friend!
Thank you my new friend! I hope you will indeed get your Kobol soon. It's a lot of fun!
Your set-up sounds great. Splitting the keyboard is super handy indeed. Have a good time playing and thanks for stopping by!
Wow!! Fantastic!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👍
Thanks Synthebo! Happy to know you've enjoyed it!
Amazing
Thank you kindly!
Thank you for the commentary! Its always difficult for me to see what all is being used, let alone HOW!😊😊😊
What happened to the deep mind? And how long did you have it for? Not exactly a cheap loss, i feel for ya bruh!👊
Thank you Dan! I'm very happy to hear you enjoyed my commentary. It's such a hassle to implement those subtitles. So I've been lazy with the last few videos. But knowing people actually read them, I'll put in the effort again.
@@danlopez2012 the deep mind was 7 years old when it started to develop problems.
First voice #4 remained audible. no matter the envelope settings. That magically fixed itself.
Then the white noise broke. It's more of a popping rattle now rather than noise.
But the next flaw it developed is truly fatal. Now it randomly reboots. Sometimes it can be on for 15 minutes. Sometimes it starts power cycling immediately.
Contacted a synth repair guy and he said the DM is not an easy synth to fix. And that I'm better off buying a new one than spending money on fixing it.
I love the dm12, but I'm not gonna buy another one. It's too expensive for that, unfortunately.
@@electronictiger wow, ok so at least 7yrs... hmm lol, just looked up the Five12... HOLY SHNIKEY!!! That thing's a beast!
very cool. you did not mention fx. reverb sounds ace!
Thank you! The reverb is the Eventide Blackhole. I'm totally in love with that reverb. I'd probably put it on my food if I could, just kidding of course. But it's by far my favorite reverb.
Marvellous - sounds great. Of all the Behringers you have which do you like best (I have the Kobol, 2600 and Wasp so far)?
Thank you Simon! Glad to hear it.
My favorite is the Neutron. It can be rough, it can sort of gentle. Lots of patch points, continuously variable wave shapes and onboard delay & distortion. It's a very powerful synth! A close second is the 2600.
I go to say that I've been having my eye on a Wasp for ages now. It sounds so tasty!
What is your favorite?
Easy fix for the encoder issue - buy new poti caps. They should be 6mm stem diameter.
That is a good idea Wisch, thank you. I'm gonna look into that.
The envelopes are analog.
Cool, thanks for letting me know. I've pinned your comment in case if someone else wants to know.
As you said, the filter, the whole synth isnt that noticable in a mix. You had a really good sounding jam but i couldnt 100% appreaciate how the cobol sounds. But from what ive heard now, its sounds quite crisp, quite unique, maybe comparable to the cat? Keep making more jams, you have my sub and like ;)
Thank you kindly. Glad to hear you're enjoying it! More jams coming soon.
Hypnotic has become a new annoying buzzword in techno and most of the tracks claiming to be hypnotic are not at all. Including this. F.
Seems to me that what is, or is not hypnotic is highly subjective. If it's not hypnotic for you, that's fine. Different strokes for different folks.
Well it’s more melodic techno to me. But your track on edge absolutely is. It’s subjective. It’s true that a lot people use that term “hypnotic”. Too much. BTW I like this track too.
