    I have a 4001 Rick, and somebody doweled out the wood and put in a Badass bridge.
    I've had her for more than 40 years and she has never let me down.

    Didn’t even realize there was bass pedals in the song until I listened to it driving home on my car’s subwoofer system. I like your version with even more pedals, I’m a bass pedal freak. Nice bass playing too Bernard.

    08:24 es el momento donde chris squire me debe unos parlantes, el mejor bajista de todos los tiempos. esta cancion sin ese maldito bajo no seria nada. suena de otro planeta. bernardo eres el alma de chris en cada nota.. esa pedalera taurus es asesina..

    Bernard, I love the video, but the vibrato and fuzz are from the Rick instead of the Taurus. :-)

    • @R8500Novice
      @R8500Novice  3 года назад +2

      Fabian, the only sound effect that I own is a SANSAMP Bass driver. I have no other sound tuning effects and I don’t really care which sounds should be coming from which unit or how ‘perfect’ it has to be. It’s called free style and I can’t stand exact replication. I know exactly what Squire does, and that, belongs to him. I'm just an amateur and can't play bass like some do. Glad you like the video. 😉

      @@R8500Novice you can use any virtual FX if you like,thru cubase for instance, the last 2 minutes of starship trooper is "something"..the rickenbacker with the vibrato and the fuzz...the sound is unique! I'm an amateur too, and watching your video, we have the same basses, CS4001..you have a 4001 Mc cartney if I'm not wrong..(I own the 4001 v64, is like the Mc Cartney, same configuration, a MIJ 4001 copy and a 4003..Squire is my full time idol..and sure you can play perfectly well ! the taurus with the vibrato sounds really great..and the sansamp is a must to get some great trebles and basses with the rick, I'm always doing sound experiments here..I haven't modified the CS4001, from Mono to stereo out..is very easy..and 100% reversible, are just 2 cables and a stereo female jack..btw check this guy.. ruclips.net/video/XCwdUypHc6g/видео.html he has THE sound, the slow bass attack is perfect, like the real one..he's using a fuzz pedal...all the rest is software. play it with headphones...is really amazing!

      Good grief, what a story for which I sadly have no interest for. As i stated in my previous reply: 'I can’t stand exact replication or how perfect it must sound.' So, I hope your indepth detailed analysis will serve to the most demanding perfectionist of CS and the 4001CS such as yourself. I keep my setup to the bare mininum and just use 1 effect pedal. A simple matter of personal preference, no offence here. Thanks anyway for your story.

    • @R8500Novice
      @R8500Novice  3 года назад +3

      It should have been thinner but mine was nowhere near acceptable. It is very thick! I can’t like it. One of my V63s is insanely thin.... my prefered bass.

    • @R8500Novice

      Only effect is a SANSAMP bass driver. Orignal 1991 Rickenbacker strings. I've played my 1991 4001CS only a few times so they still sound ok :)

      @@R8500Novice you have inspired me to play (my 2001 4003) again. Your tone sounds like the record to me. Hopefully my old Line 6 Bass Pod can sub for the Sansamp.
