- A studio classic from the 1960's & 70's is reborn. Introducing SPRING REVERBERATION 636. There's no Reverb like good Analog Reverb and this one has buckets full of it with a tasty preamp to boot. Rich, harmonic and dense, it's a great box for getting those vintage rounded sounds both in space and saturation.

Gotta say, I’m so impressed with how much Behringer has changed. They used to be a punchline back in the day, but they’re absolutely killing it now. Absolute respect
They've been making good gear for a few decades. People just didn't take them seriously until recently.

They've always been a punchline because people equate cost with quality. They have made some not so useful things but a ton of stuff is actually pretty great.
The denoiser is probably the best gate on the market considering it's cost. The sonic maximizer and ultimizer are also quite useful things.
Sounds great. What is missing is an adjustable mechanical damper for the spring. And two springs with independent controls in the same tank would have made a nice stereo effect.
They are cheap enough that you can buy two and make a stereo spring that way.
I think there's a pedal for this
@@lukeomalley You are right, what I meant was: if two springs are in the same tank they influence each other, which could lead to interesting effects.
Now add a stereo BBD delay/chorus, and you'd have a killer analog multieffect.

My first reverb unit was a Great British Spring mk2. The guiltiest pleasure was giving it a gentle kick for the sound of thunder! ⛈️

As a massive Jamaican dub and also dub techno fan, I couldn't be happier about this. Not that spring reverb is limited to dub, but it sure is important for dub. Nice one yet again Behringer.

Glad the demo featured a drum break because that was the first thing I wanted to know how it sounded and it sounds amazing.
I had to include at least a couple :) I was really surprised at how good the preamp was, tbh I had 50 breaks lined up and couldn't choose between them, they all sounded dope through it. Really nice saturation going on.
@@PatchDog Nice work, for people that want to process breaks this is a must buy for the saturation alone. It sounds so close to those old jungle records that were heavily saturated, really impressive. Having the spring reverb is almost an extra when the preamp sounds this good.
Yeah no doubt, it definitely has that 90s smashed jungle breaks vibe thing going on. The low end breaks up very pleasingly.@@farben_

Very nice job- especially the inclusion of both 1/4" jacks and mini jacks. I dig it!
So it's not only a reverb but basically a low-key overdrive pedal that saturates analog synth signal. Wow this thing made Crave sing and gave it much needed warmth.
I gotta say, this is fantastic. Been looking for a real spring for two years,and anything used i come across for the $400 tag just gets snapped up.
This is the _first_ Behringer product I've ever wanted. I hope Behringer has finally gotten their Quality Control issues sorted out... 😳

THISSSS is exactly what i need, Behringer :D And i love the whole design that it doesn't look boring but really how the design actually compliments the sound of it. Definitely on my shoppinglist now. With two of these it'd be great for Stereo. This thing really has charisma.

I love a real spring reverb, so out of all the new B products, this one has captured my interest and I’ll have to check it out. Right now I have a G-Storm tank driver Eurorack module fed into a spring tank that I pulled out of an old Crate combo amp before throwing it in the trash. Built a wooden enclosure around it for the slaps! You can’t not love a real spring reverb. :)

I was not expecting this at all. Didn't know about the unit that inspired this but the sound says it all
WOW! ❤ The preamp sounds really, really good. Even though plugins now deliver good sound, analogue saturation always sounds better than digital emulations. When it comes to reverb and delay, digital effects can certainly keep up, but you can definitely hear a difference when it comes to distortion and saturation. Well done Behringer!

Yeha I'm afraid I didn't, because the spring tank module is loaded in the case it's not that easy to get the boing wack out of it. I may do a follow up vid and see if I can hit the side of the case to see what it does.

This is excellent progress Behringer. Id like the Sapce echo, but without the tape.
Perhaps a BBD Space Echo could be a thing, keeping it analog. The TC Electronic GAUSS pedal is in this vein. Thanks for the motivating comment.
