    The Nicene Creed: An Introduction
    patristicnecta...
The Nicene Creed is the singular and universal statement of faith of the one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. It possesses complete authority in the Orthodox Church and is recited in every Divine Liturgy, and daily in the prayers of the faithful. In these lectures, the Christian faith is summarized, and the content of the Creed itself is examined so that the “faith once delivered to the saints” can be known, embraced, and lived.
Lecture 1 The History and Use of the Nicene Creed
    Lecture 2 The Almighty God
Lecture 3 Jesus Christ, the Son of God
    Lecture 4 The Holy Spirit
    Lecture 5 The One Church

I appreciate your inspiring message, brother. At the same time, Peter and Paul held themselves in low esteem, recalling the words of Jesus that no man is good and refusing such accolades.

The feast of the Holy, Glorious and All-praised Leaders of the Apostles, Peter and Paul is truly celebrated on June 29 of the Old Calendar, that is to say on July 12 of the civil calendar.
Celebrating this feast on June 29 of the civil calendar is to be under anathema (cf. Synodal Patriarchal encyclicals of 1593 and 1848 related to the heresy of the Gregorian calendar).
When the Church anathematizes a certain heresy, this is for eternity. We cannot imagine that anathemas laid down in the past would have to be “re-imposed” by a modern council to be valid.
Humbly, let us not forget about the miracle of the appearance of the Cross near Athens in 1925 at the All-night Vigil on the eve of the feast of the Exaltation of the All-Honorable and Life-giving Cross of our Savior, on September 14th according to the Orthodox Church Old Calendar.
This miracle clearly indicated that God gives his favor to the traditional Orthodox Church Old Calendar of the Fathers of Nicea and to this old calendar ONLY.
During that night of 1925, more than 2,000 Old Calendarists gathered at the Church of St. John the Theologian in suburban Athens. Even the battalion of police sent to stop the Vigil that night fell to their knees, wept like little children, and did not attempt to seize the priest as they had been ordered by the administration of the modernist New Calendarists.
The New Calendar introduces a lot of chaos in the observance of the Typikon. For example, next year in 2024, the Apostles Fast for the New Calendarists will simply disappear as Pascha will fall on April 22 of the Old Calendar (May 5th of the civil calendar).
The group of 9 people who promulgated these changes to introduce the New Calendar in 1923 (by deceptively calling this new Julian calendar renewed) did not have the authority to make such a decision. Only an Ecumenical Council has this authority. Those 9 people (many of them were freemasons) were bound by other loyalties, by other oaths, by other constraints.
The New Calendar is a flagrant breach of Tradition with the violation of an Apostolic canon and the violation of multiple Ecumenical Councils. It is more than time for the New Calendarists to abandon the laws of the freemasons and to go back to the Old Calendar.
Let us not forget what many elders remind us : "obedience to disobedience is not obedience."

The question is, why don't the Eastern Orthodox recognize the Roman bishop as the Pope? Because the spirit of strife and the passion of partisanship blinded them. Because their political ambition did not allow them, the people of Constantinople, the inhabitants of the capital of the empire, the Church of the East that always imagined itself superior, to submit to the bishop of Rome, who was politically insignificant by then. They were mistaken in thinking that the supreme governance of the Church could only be a function of political power, and instead of the spirit of meekness and humility, they aligned with the spirit of political competition and ambition.
Has this contrast between East and West been evident from the beginning? In certain externalities, e.g., liturgical life, yes, but not in faith and church discipline. For centuries, the Easterners also acknowledged the primacy of the Roman bishop. One of the first popes, Clement of Rome († AD 97), fully assumed his supremacy over the Corinthians; similarly, Pope Victor I in the debate over the date of Easter. At the first ecumenical council (325, Nicaea), the Pope's delegates presided, and they - a bishop and three simple priests - signed the council decrees first, ahead of all other bishops. At the Council of Chalcedon (451), after reading Pope Leo I's letter, the council fathers, almost all Greeks and Easterners, rose from their seats and exclaimed: "Peter has spoken through Leo!" and obeyed the Pope.
This remained the case until the 9th century when, due to the emperor's whim, an ambitious secular official, the talented but theologically inexperienced and unscrupulous Photius, was appointed to the episcopal seat of Constantinople. He rallied purely political passions against Rome and pronounced the schism. The schism was later mended, but two centuries later, another passionate and ambitious bishop of Constantinople, Michael Cerularius, led the East into another schism.
This was not the fulfillment of Christ's command but the contamination of the Church with political passions. Since then, such relentless agitation against Rome has taken place in the East that, except for a brief attempt at unification (Florence, 1439), the schism has truly taken root in the Eastern soul.
