had no servants, yet they called Him Master. Had no degree, yet they called Him Teacher. Had no medicines, yet they called Him Healer. He had no army, yet kings feared Him. He won no military battles, yet He conquered the world. He did not live in a castle, yet they called Him Lord, He ruled no nations, yet they called Him King, He committed no crime, yet they crucified Him. He was buried in a tomb, yet He lives today!

The truth is we are already dead in Jesus on the cross some 2000 years ago. Would we really believe this, Reckoning our flesh, our deeds, our desires all dead? Oh Lord Jesus, you are our hope, our life, our perfect sacrifice. You perfected our faith because we couldn't. What Grace! What Mercy! Truly our flesh is all dead and your Spirit lives in us. Let us not walk in the flesh but in the Spirit. And one day we will finally put off the corruptible and put on the incorruptible. Yes! Looking forward to my dying, even my death right now. Hallelujah!

JESUS said we are just sleeping. Those in Him cannot die because He is Eternal. After burial Jesus went down to preach to the spirits ( souls). Obviously they were also alive. The soul, like it's Creator, is Eternal. That's why those whose souls are in hell suffer , as JESUS SAID, "ETERNAL damnation. " Please read/study the Bible. God does not want us to live in the dark. Let's find and follow the LIGHT. "THOSE WITH EYES, LET THEM SEE. " THOSE WITH EARS, LET THEM HEAR." Amen

It is not Christ AND me.
      It is Christ OR me.
So that if any one [is] in Christ, [that one is] a new creature; old things have passed away; behold,

I follow Jordan Peterson and often listen to his conversation with others. Jaiden you said in this video you do not know what he is scared of. It is exactly what gave him notoriety and the platform. It is his intellectual capabilities, his beautiful mind, his God given gifts, that he does not want to surrender. He often destroys others with the wisdom of the bible making atheist and intellectual's look foolish that they believing that nothing created something and how they try to create meaning from nothing. But at the end, Jordan is going have to be honest, and have to accept Jesus Christ as His Master and Savior which will effectively Kill Jordan Peterson. Like Saul to Paul, like Simon to Peter... we have to die and be born a new.

Jesus said, You must be born again. John 3:3-8. "Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
That which is born of flesh is flesh, and that which is born of Spirit is spirit." Verses 3:5-6.
Born again is regeneration. Noah Webster 1828 Dictionary online.
'Regeneration means; Reproduction, the act of producing anew. In theology, New birth by the grace of God, that change by which the will and natural enmity of man to God and his law are subdued, and a principle of supreme
love to God and his law, or holy affections, are implanted in the heart.' Implanted.
Humbling isn't it. We cannot do that. So who does God look to? the humble and contrite ones. Psalm 34:18 and Isaiah 57:15.
Ask God to send the Holy Spirit to you, Luke 11:13. He will bring your sins to mind. As he does ask Jesus to forgive you. This will be painful, PRIDE HATES IT.
When you see your desperate need (Jeremish 17:9) for a Saviour, call out to Jesus to save you. He came to save sinners.
Then do as the risen Jesus commanded, be baptized. Matthew 28:18-20, in the water of repentance Mark 1:1-5, Matthew 3:6. Calling on the name of the Lord, Romans 10:9-13. How? As Peter preached Acts 2:21, 38 and as Paul did, Acts 22:16, Acts 19:1-5.
      Think on Mark 16:16, 2 Peter 3:9, Romans 6:3-11, 1 Corinthians 12:13 and Colossians 2:6-15.
When He has regenerated you, you will desire Him. Read His inspired word, the Authorized Version, the King James Bible. The Spirit of truth will lead you into all truth. His word strengthens, washes (as does His powerful blood). His word reads you Hebrews 4:12. Daily bible reading and prayer is essential in building on the foundation which is Christ Jesus.
PS. The other apostles were already baptized, they baptized others. John 4:1-2.
Read His preserved word, the Authorized Version later called the King James Bible.

Jordan is right, he takes religion seriously. The fear of the lord is the begining of wisdom. Jordan realise somthing all christians can learn from. When you understand you and take this serisouly, a healthy fear of the truth is only human. With all do respect it seems the cowboy isnt getting what jordan is saying. Never met a born again who was afraid first to let go of the world, acknowledging this fear is first step to overcoming it. Let Jordan go through his fear, I have faith he would come out other side. Actually jordan seems far more biblical then the cowboys "what you have to fear' argument. Jonah, Moses , the apostles, job, etc all feared letting go, all fear God. But fear is not the end of the story is the begining, its good Jordan is afraid, it means he understands, perhaps more then the cowboy. Jordan has far more understanding then maany christians I know who seem to have no fear of the lord at all, fear leads understanding and understanding lead away feom sin and too christ. Perhaps this lack of fear is why so many un repenting sinners in the faith today.

Jordan Peterson understands Christ as a person deeper than anyone in these comments, or the guy he’s interviewing.
Jesus constantly chastised his disciples for their lack of understanding his words and actions. Petersons entire world right now is diving in and teaching the MEANING of Christ to millions of people.
It’s one thing to think you know Jesus. It’s another thing to understand. But it’s a whole different level to have understanding AND the ability to articulate that understanding.
People want Peterson to use simple terms that they use because they don’t understand that Peterson is far beyond that surface level spirituality. It’s like when Paul called for followers to stop needing milk, and to move on to the real meat of the faith.
If you want the meat of the faith, understand what Peterson is saying and how it relates to Christ, and how it relates to YOUR LIFE. Accepting Christ means to accept and apply ALL of his teachings in your life. It doesn’t just mean to claim belief, and tell other people you believe.
“Those who understand my teachings and put them into practice is like the wise man who built his house on rock.”

Peterson is a philosopher and a Doctor of Psychology. He often speaks metaphorically. It is important to be clear about that when you listen to him. His often teaches about the bible as a work of literature. Despite this and even as a Christian, there is great value to be had from listening to him speak on different topics. At 2:36. What could be "terrifying" about Jesus is there was actually a human being who walked the earth who was without sin and did not need to be saved. The most perfect person to have lived. That He died for our sins and rose from the dead. That He was the foretold Messiah of the Old Testament. That He redeemed mankind. That His message and ministry are true today as it was in Christ's lifetime.

I think we need to be very careful criticizing Dr. Peterson. He thinks on a different level. There’s a depth to his thoughts that surpasses the understanding of the average person. An example would be Thomas Merton’s “Seven Story Mountain”. Most readers need to reread a paragraph in his book several times to grasp the concepts he is describing. I find a certain humility surfaces when Peterson talks about Jesus which makes me think he has a healthy humility to keep his ego grounded.

I’m a believer. Been saved since I was 6. Been through ALOT in church. So much that it drew me away in my late 20’s. All I’ve known was the Bible and the ways few have taught me with experiences I’ve had personally that keeps me away from completely leaving the faith altogether. While I get what the man is saying when it comes to Jordan, it was Jordan’s growth and his understanding of Christianity is what brought my faith back. See Jordan is like Paul. Jordan is a smart man. His ability to articulate and understand depths of life and his compassion is what will go over many traditional Christians heads. And Jordan’s struggle is the very struggle we all fight day by day. That’s why I don’t judge him nor fault him for his areas of struggle and surrender when it comes to this faith he battles. Jordan is a man of logic and reason. So for him to even consider Christianity is a miracle in and of itself. His wife (who is a believer) is a great piece of the puzzle to lead him in his growing faith.
The problem (I have amongst many) with my fellow christians is that we always feel like we need to have the answer to everyone’s growth in our faith. That’s not the flow of the Holy Spirit. That’s us using our intellect (no different than what Jordan is doing with his understanding) in disguise of being a “light” for someone. It sounds good and ideal but in reality we’re putting ourselves into something that prohibits the true glory and edification of God in the grow process of our fellow brothers and sisters. This very headline “HUMBLES” focuses on not praising God for Jordan learning and gaining enlightenment on his steady path with God but rather projects humiliation towards what we deem as arrogance. The word in all caps is a ploy to grab the attention of others rather than letting God grab the hearts of whom is meant to hear. None of us have all the answers to this Christian path. We read and quote a Bible that’s been edited and translated so many ways the only thing we can do is trust God with what we don’t know and study to our best abilities the context of scripture with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. So to question and stand even in ignorance on our current state of understanding is natural for humans. Christ says unless you come to me as a child you can’t even see the kindgom. Jordan struggles with this in my opinion only by faith and fear of losing what he thinks makes sense. I personally believe that Jordan will come to the conclusion of our faith and it won’t be the same way that was done religiously like others such as myself. Jordan understands more about our faith than many I’ve seen in this thing longer than even me. His understanding of the concepts of good and evil shook me to the core and had me repent for being so self righteous. I’ve shared his videos to others about our faith and they began to ask me questions that led them to be more open to Christ. One sows, the other plants and God does the increase. Direct scripture from the same Bible we quote day by day. And yet somehow this same faith that so many follow miss God because we limit is methods of reaching his own children by the way he deals and handles us. Jordan knows how to surrender. He surrendered his will to his wife and family. The one thing I will agree with the gentleman here is the impact Jordan will have on such a greater scale simply because I do believe to some extent he sees what many have seen such as myself. Jordan Peterson is definitely getting the message. One day at a time. Did Paul have it all together when God begin to deal with him? What about moses? Peter? Or maybe the other initial 11 disciples? Even the one who betrayed Jesus was elected as one of the 12 to follow him. Let’s just celebrate what God is doing in this man’s life and pray that he remains open to what The Lord is doing for him.

It’s Christian’s like these people that turn people off spiritually. The fact remains, we are all sinners saved by grace in Christ alone, by grace alone. Never met a born again who was afraid first to let go of the world, ackowledging this fear is first step to overcoming it. Let Jordan go through his fear, I have faith he would come out other side. Actually jordan seems far more biblical then the cowboys "what you have to fear' argument. Jonah, Moses , the apostles, job, etc all fear letting go, all fear God. But fear is not the end of the story is the begining, its good Jordan is afraid, it means he understands, perhaps more then the cowboy

When the things of God are hidden from the mind of man, to know God you must know him it spirit and Truth…. The way to Jesus is so simplistic that so many miss it - we need to just except with child like faith that Jesus is the Son of God and except that he die for us all on the cross and when we believe and receive we are Born Again Saved to be with Jesus God Almighty For Ever. So many miss because they think it’s got to cost them something they must do something-When Jesus Did All On The Cross - It’s Free - Lastly , I would say with so many Men of God he has interview him why they did not lean in on his stance the way Mr. Rich is doing …. I've been watching Jordan Peterson for a long long time. I just heard a good analogy of this type of situation that Jordan is in. Some people are inadvertently masochists unto themselves. We become so familiar with the bad things in our lives, that they become our safety net. We do them over and over again, because we know the outcome. And if we change, we dont know/think it will become a better outcome, so we stick with our existing situation because we are comfortable with it. But, thats not reality at lot of times. Its a lie to make us feel better, and a very hard one to overcome. I pray for him.

*Jordan Peterson is the bridge between the intellectuals and the spiritual bunch.* His lectures, his studies, his whole way of being and his sincere search for Truth has raised him high for all to see. He became loved by the broken and is helping them heal- all the while discussing life through the Bible (and other literature and film). He is offering Judeo-Christian values to a world that had deemed them illogical/impossible and which was crumbling under disfunction. A great number of believers exist today only because of his lectures, events- his way of teaching- and he knows that.
He may not, in his current position of leadership, be able to proclaim as loudly and frequently as a Christian perhaps should that he has given himself over to Jesus without losing a part of himself in the eyes of those of us that look up to him but who aren't quite there yet. He is, in a way, pulling with him those of us who cannot quite get past our egos but who may if we keep our heads in the game of at least considering God and Jesus are what the Bible says they are.
Part of his struggle could also be that he doesn't yet know what surrender for him would look like. What would be left of Jordan B. Peterson if he stopped trying to understand everything as fully as he can?

Whem you understand you, taks this serisouly, healthy fear of the truth is only human. With all do respect it seems the cowboy isnt getting what jordan is saying. He seems to want the invisible to be made physical in order to trust with the spirit of the soul.

You have a relationship with him and that comes first. God, can use anybody to fulfill his purposes. No amount of Merit is going to please God.... I thank
Jesus for jordan peterson and how much of a blessing he's been for the church
But those people that Jesus talked about in Matthew. Chapter 7 at the end of the sermon on the mount. They thought they were good with God... Those were the scholars. Those were the people who cast out demons... Those were the church planters.... But relationship with God comes first.. There's a possibility that we can think were serving in God when we're just really serving ourselves. That's the scary reality.
In the old testament When God said, choose the good that it may be well with you... Jesus was the good that he was talking about.

Actually what you said is completely against what the bible LITERALLY says not in modern terms using literally, literally as in word for word it says it's not by eloquent speech or human wisdom which is what YOUR arguing is the superior approach. John is really speaking matter of fact and Jordan is hiding behind fancy terminologies and metaphors. The word of God explicitly states it's by God's spirit and power we understand and explain Jesus not by human understands. This whole chapter destroys what you said, I'm taking the Bible's word over your preferences.
Read it for yourself, go Google every version and see for yourself
      *********
      1 Corinthians 2:1-16
[1] And when I came to you, brethren, I did not come with superiority of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of God. [2] For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified. [3] I was with you in weakness and in fear and in much trembling, [4] and my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,
[5] so that your faith might not be based on human wisdom but on God’s power. [6] We do, however, speak a wisdom among the mature, but not a wisdom of this age, or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. [7] On the contrary, we speak God’s hidden wisdom in a mystery, a wisdom God predestined before the ages for our glory. [8] None of the rulers of this age knew this wisdom, because if they had known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. [9] But as it is written, What no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no human heart has conceived - God has prepared these things for those who love him. [10] Now God has revealed these things to us by the Spirit, since the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. [11] For who knows a person’s thoughts except his spirit within him? In the same way, no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. [12] Now we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who comes from God, so that we may understand what has been freely given to us by God. [13] We also speak these things, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual things to spiritual people. [14] But the person without the Spirit does not receive what comes from God’s Spirit, because it is foolishness to him; he is not able to understand it since it is evaluated spiritually. [15] The spiritual person, however, can evaluate everything, and yet he himself cannot be evaluated by anyone. [16] For who has known the Lord’s mind, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

If you want a woman do you catcall her as she walking by? Or do you approach her subtlety and patiently?
Jordan Peterson is a fisherman of men for Christianity. If you are upset because he doesn’t loudly and unequivocally pronounce his faith in front of you that’s unfortunate. I think he’s doing Gods work subtlety. I believe he is fishing differently than our peers and administrators in Church have been and I think he’s been converting more souls to Gods kingdom than most Christian’s leaders have been doing for the last 2 decades.
I think a man’s actions are more important to observe than what he says or professes in public. You can profess scripture and your love for God but is your daily life reflecting that? From what I observe of JP he is a Christian. And it’s refreshing hes not an obnoxious one. His lectures have certainly converted me to a Christian. So I have to ask is this about you being right about biblical scripture or is it about bringing more souls to gods kingdom? There’s more than one way to skin a cat my friend. It is a torment, not by molten sulfur, but by the excruciating revelation of self in the presence of God and it ends in a decision for eternal cessation of existence. I have posted elsewhere in this discussion on the topic, with biblical evidence.

      That's a lie
      Revelation 20:11-15
[11] Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. [12] And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. [13] The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. [14] Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. [15] Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.
      Mark 9:47-48
[47] And if your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell, [48] where “ ‘the worms that eat them do not die, and the fire is not quenched.’
“In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but yourselves being thrown out.

As a man of discernment, the words of Christ out of Rich's mouth have cut to the heart of Jordan Peterson deeply. You can tell Peterson was speechless and could not deny the truth. Probably one of those moments like he was cornered against the wall and trying to find an escape plan.
Jordan Peterson enjoys his self-autonomic lifestyle and he has not fully surrendered to the Lord. In his mind, he is afraid of faith and having to abide in Christ for his unknown future. Probably afraid of the potential dark misfortunes that could result in following Christ, or he is probably reluctant to alter his inveterate lifestyle and having to put his trust in Christ for everything. He is okay with talking about scripture and things like that, but as for following the Lord fully on a day-by-day basis, that's what Peterson has not done. I pray that one day he will. Otherwise, he will be one of those people that Christ will say to them, "I never knew you."

He could also be concerned he's falling into the *great trap.* Psychology alone continues to develope new understandings of the human mind and how it works, so what if we simply haven't found the piece of the puzzle that excludes the possibility of God. Then there are conditions at the time of the Jesus to consider. Nobody wants to be found the fool. I feel as though this is why Peterson uses the truths in the parables, the scriptures, even classic Disney films, etc to illustrate Life's truths. The worst despair and pain we could ever imagine ourselves in is Hell- and it's different for each of us. The most beautiful, functional life we could imagine is Heaven- different for each of us. And what if that's all this Jesus person (no disrespect whatsoever inteneded- just making a point) was trying to say? What if The Resurrection is just a way of people saying this man's teachings will live on in all who believe he was right about how to conduct yourself in life?
It's the Apostles lives (or deaths) afterwards that I, personally, cannot get past easily with this line of reasoning, though.
Bottom line: we have all had to use our intellect as well as our feelings to get through life and I'm not sure he's done thinking about it yet, but he knows he feels something very real- truly extraordinary- in this particular faith.

I hope someday he “gets it.” Literally all it takes is turning off your brain and trusting your heart and the breakthroughs that come when you seek to re-discover your relationship with your savior.

I also don’t believe that the kind of emotionalism that is in many chirches today masquerading as faith and salvation are what God through Hos Word meant and still means by heart. Jordan Peterson has a son problem as we all have had. It appears that pride keeps him there, and over-intellectualizing especially from a Jungian psycho dynamic and notions of synchronicity that have little to do with real Faith, a belief based upon the evidence that is intelligent and piercing to the core of our being, but we must be careful of emotionalism and feelings based responses only. I’m reminded of the arguments between legalistic and anti-legalists. Their individual arguments did not draw either toward actual salvation and true understanding. Often they just added more sin from their side to avoid the sins from the other. I believe we see in the comments other such arguments. God helps us, but people are a mess, and even with His Word and for those in Christ, the in dwelling Holy Spirit yet we have sinful arguments publicly that should be settled among brothers and sisters in our own family conversations.

Jaiden, your the first person who has narrowed down this on going discussion about whether Peterson is finally surrendered to Christ! Isn’t it ironic that the cowboy witnesses to the great intellect?! Isn’t what Peterson ultimately doing what each and every one of us has to do, is to acknowledge Jesus is King and submit to Him and accept His Grace in exchange of our wretchedness? Peterson’s intellect is an essential part of how he’s defined himself thru out his life. The basic part of being born again is to DIE TO YOUR OLD SELF, and this is Peterson’s battle as it was for each of us! God loves us to come to this reality, but even He has a limit and will not force you to be with Him if you test Him too long!! John Rich gave him the gospel down and basic, which is what we all should be doing for loved ones as time is running out for this world!

I also like to philosophize sometimes, but I have experienced what it is to intellectualize out of faith, and what it is to intellectualize instead of faith. Even if the subject of the latter is "matters of faith". The first is the tree of life, the second is the tree of "knowledge" that leads to death, because reason tries to encompass everything like God, and questions give rise to more questions, it creates a labyrinth in which man gets lost, an ocean in which he drowns. Knowledge does not save. God saves, and when we accept Him, He also gives us everything we need for a given time. Also a sufficient and healthy dose of knowledge.

I feel as though Jordan is so deeply a man of honor, even more than intellect, that he is utterly terrified to marry God, as it were, to commit to Him fully, without being 100% sure.
The unfortunate problem with this thinking is that in marriage, in life, and even in God, our human capacity will never reach the level of assurance required for some people.
Love and commitment require a majority percentage of knowledge and a minority percentage of faith. We will never, in this form of our eternal existence, have the total assurance we seek and we have to humbly say, "Lord, You gave me enough - I choose to believe You. Just as you gave so much to us on credit, You deserve even more."
God bless Jordan, His family and everyone and anyone reading this and who brought this powerful video to us, in Jesus' name, amen.

At times it kinda seemed paradoxical since some of his most influential speeches have been around the subject of assuming responsibility and how one can find purpose and meaning through having responsibility. And yet he seems afraid or hesitant to assume the responsibility of believing in Christ. Just like it was outlined in this video, the beautiful simplicity of God’s message is so that even a child can grasp it’s meaning without unnecessarily complicating it. Jordan hasn’t experienced the fullness of Christ , he’s getting there but he doesn’t quite understand the mystery of being born again and how faith in God and and the power of redemption leaves no doubt.
John is doing what Christians are called to do, spreading the Gospel and witnessing to the lost.

John 7:24 "Stop judging by mere appearances but judge correctly" the Bible says you will know them by their fruit which is of itself a judgment call.
The true definition of a true or false Christian, is true Christians are at war with their sin, a fake Christian is at peace with their sin.
I think it's abundantly clear that Jordan Peterson has come a long way and hopefully we will continue to move in his experience with God and drawing closer to him hopefully he fully Embraces Christ as his Lord and savior but judging the sincerity of someone with their real or false Christian is a part of being a Christian. the Bible tells us not to even have dinner with those who claim to be a Christian but are not. though I do not think Jordan Peterson qualifies as one of those type of people if you take that text in the full context you'll find out it's talking about people who are full of pride & unrepentant and Jordon is not full of pride.

Many people are praying for Jordan Peterson to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. From all I have heard from him over the years is that intellectually agrees with what he understands that Jesus represents. I have not heard anything indicating that he has been born again according to John chapter 3. Being a Christian is more than intellectual ascent to a conglomeration of ideals. To be a Christian according to Jesus, you must be born again, and you must follow him. It’s a heart matter not an intellectual matter.

It’s OK to doubt until you clearly can see the reality of Christ in someone’s life. Jordan Peterson is absolutely wonderful and I believe that he will have his own personal epiphany. But everything that I have ever heard him say over the years, though intellectually brilliant and inspiring, has shown a lack of confidence in an intimate personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. That is not a criticism. It is simply an observation. You can ponder, Christianity intellectually endlessly, but until you yield to the call of God, Almighty to give your whole heart to him in obedience, repentance, and yielding to Jesus as Lord of your life, you are not a Christian.

The answer that Jordan usually gave when he is asked if he believes in Jesus Christ is "It depends on what you mean to believe."
Many christians groan at this because it sounds like hes dodging the question and to a degree he is. But listen to him speak about what the word believe means and it's akin to what the bibke says it means to believe.
That is a faith with works.
Jordan says he lives his life as though God does exist.
We know from the bible that a faith without works is dead.
Another reason that jordan says he doesn't come outright with it is because he doesn't want to be "claimed" by a denomination/church group.
Let's be real. As christians, we tend to care too much if a certain famous or well-known intellectual like jordan is part of our certain church group.
      Jordan wants to avoid that.
Other than that, idk what else he's thinking.

Jordan, your terror is the chastening effect of god's Law on the sinner, you. The Gospel is the absolute promise of God that He forgives you, has mercy on you, and will live forever without sin in God's promise in Jesus Christ. Grasp the promise and hold on for dear life!

Instead of criticizing Jordan's intellectualism, I celebrate it and applaud him for turning it to Christ. Jordan has brought thousands, maybe millions of people, to God.
Peterson states that he has dedicated himself to Christ, and I believe hundreds of his videos demonstrate that. He was not shattered or broken down in this conversation. He was being respectful to John, a powerfully faithful man. The difference between Jordan's view of salvation and John Rich's view, I think, has to do with the interpretation of the meaning of Free Will. There are as many slightly different interpretations of soteriology as there are Christian sects, but there are fundamentally 2 camps that the 2 men represent.
Admittedly, the explanations below will be oversimplified, but, at the risk of offending everyone, I'll throw it out there...
John seems to represent the Protestant/Evangelical "I'm Saved" view. It is the "faith alone" and "once saved, always saved, I-know-I'm-saved" view of salvation, with its literal interpretation of the Bible (except for the parables...which are metaphors spoken by Jesus). Some people are the Elect and will, therefore, accept faith and grace; others are the Non-Elect and, therefore, will not be offered faith and grace. The Elect do the will of God, the Non-Elect do not. Period. In this view, the role of free will is fuzzy, but the certainty of salvation is high (unless you are one of the Non-Elect, and if you are, you probably don't want to admit that to yourself).
Jordan seems to me to represent more of the Catholic/Orthodox "Treasure Hunt" view. It is the "faith plus works" and "I'll find out if I'm saved when I die" view of salvation. This view respects free will but offers less certainty. Faith plus works is not to be confused with Virtue Signaling; it is unearned faith and unearned grace, followed by free will-driven, grace-inspired action. Once faith is firmly acknowledged, a treasure hunt begins, and the treasure is heaven. In this view, all are called, but not all will answer. One can be a spectator, or one can take action. This view leads to a lifetime of falling down, standing up, falling down again, standing up again, in which the sinner repents, corrects, and ultimately redirects his/her will to God's will, in the hope of being with God for eternity. It involves a contextual view of the Bible and all its symbolism which correlates the New Testament with the Old Testament. Faith is a gift, but the person chooses to accept it or not. Grace is a gift, but the person chooses to act on it or not. One cannot merit forgiveness, but one can choose to accept Jesus' sacrifice. It requires total submission to Him, and the corresponding forgiveness of oneself and others. Life becomes an adventure full of mirages, shattered fantasies, unexpected pitfalls, betrayals, challenges, and pain...as well as visions, dreams, unexpected blessings, loyalty, beauty, and joy...in which Jesus is the one true compass leading to the Gates of Heaven. Join the hunt or not. Stay in the hunt or quit. It's your decision. Faith is just the beginning of the journey. God gives us the choice to love Him or to reject Him. God's unearned gifts of faith and grace (treasure map) + grace-powered freely-willed actions (dedicating mind/body/spirit to the arduous journey) = Destination Heaven. Psychology can identify the wounds/obstacles, but only Jesus can heal them. Only Jesus can recognize and neutralize Evil. That is why the Bible, in its literal and symbolic interpretations, can be used to answer the psychological mystery. That is why Jordan's prior knowledge is given new meaning, new life, new direction, by his study of the Bible. It is why, through submission to Jesus, we cauterize our wounds, discard our masks, overcome Evil, and allow our true selves emerge from the ruins.
I say, "Jordan...keep using all your gifts, and all your knowledge in the service of God. Keep reaching those who were unreachable."

The dynamic between God and Abraham had nothing to do with "adventure". It was God commanding His creation to obey Him and for His will to be done. It had nothing to do with how Abraham perceived the situation and all about God's plan bring realized.

It has a lot to do with adventure. Obedience is adventure… Jesus’ life was full of adventure bcoz he chose to obey God. Remember satan offered him an easy way out in his temptation but he chose to obey God… That is true adventure cos it isn’t an easy path to walk in…

@enockawuley8444 In that context, I agree with you on the word "adventure" but I feel the context JP was using it was in the sense of something that excited and benefited Abraham. My ultimate point was that it wasn't about Abraham, it was about God and I feel JP was making it about how Abraham felt.

This guy didn't humble Dr. Peterson. He is questioning someone else's walk with Jesus. It is not his place. This comes from the arrogance of believing that you are somehow "more saved" or more correct with your walk than another. This is why many Christians don't go to church today to avoid people like this.

Wow. Excellent work, Jaiden. Thank you. Jordan listens to John Rich humbly and openly, not defensively. He seems to sense he is limited or crippled in some way. I think he lives in a kind of mirror universe created by his intellect. Outside of that intellect, perhaps for him there is nothing but terrifying chaos. But when he was still a little child in his mother's arms, his world would have been real. . .
