    Really cool timelapse! When ships have cranes onboard is it the crew that operates them or is it harbour workers?

    • @FerdyHoutstra
      @FerdyHoutstra  4 года назад +1

      For us ships crew was operating the cranes when doing heavy lift and project cargo. With some general cargoes there were harbour workers.

    Is it possible to get access to ports just to have close up views of merchant shipping operstions?.... (I have no interest in cruise liners)

      All entries into ports should be monitored as per isps regulations but in small ports you might be able to get quite close in a nearby area.

    How is it possible, load line wise, that you have only one big cargo space? Do you have a very big freeboard?

    • @FerdyHoutstra
      @FerdyHoutstra  3 года назад

      The size of the cargo hold is not related to the loadline.

    • @carolinedick8764

      @@carolinedick8764 Remember that double bottom can also provide safety layer for damage stability, especially L type of ballast and storage tanks. Sometimes holds also have middle division between 2 holds where are HFO and MDO tanks, dividing two holds.
