    I think that Thorn is running the nh34 with the GMT hand as a 24 hour hand, with normal hour hand removed. Turns it into a 24h dial, with day night halves

    It’s amazing how even the AliExpress lovers still make snobbish comments about Chinese watches. We are such a square and sheepish species. It’s not about the nation, it’s about the individual watch, the quality, the design etc.

    Some good finds but it seems each one just has something that bothers me a little whether it be the lug design on the Hroudland or something about the numbering on the Thorn (though I do kind of like the fact you have 456 at the 9'oclock position and the half lume is cool). I've had a Cadisen meteorite pattern dial (it's definitely not actual meteorite) before and found the pattern is quite subtle compared to the pictures so a bit worried this could be the case again even though the silver one is in a basket for consideration.

    I have that Hroudland style B pilot for half a year now.
    Didn't know it had only 11mm thickness. Probably because this strange shape lugs. Thorn Pelagos is around 12mm but feels noticeably thinner.

    • @Sicarius888
      @Sicarius888 2 дня назад +2

      @@HonestWatchReviewsHWR Good for me, but I like big watches. I never tried leather strap, bought a cheap engineer bracelet on Ali, looks and wears fine even without matching endlinks. But nato can be a problem. Lugs might look long, but with 1,8mm springbars there is not much space to pull the strap. Maybe thinner seat belt would work better, but regular is hard to fold down around spring bars and leaves a sticking out cushion on the caseback.

    That Thorn certainly looks different and quite unique, as others have stated, the traditional hour hand must have been removed and just let the 24hr hand makin sense of the markings in the dial, dont think i have seen other watch like it, if im getting a watch, this might be it. The last Addiesdive watch looks superb, easily the nicest watch of the bunch, though unfortunately it's FAR too small for most people, 40mm would have been perfect.

    • @HonestWatchReviewsHWR
      @HonestWatchReviewsHWR  2 дня назад +1

      @@DanRC69 It depends on what size you have, I guess. For my 7" wrist I don't have a problem with a 36mm watch.

    • @victor-hi2uw
      @victor-hi2uw День назад +1

      I disagree. A lot of people just wear watches that are too big for them.
      36mm used to be the usual size for men's wristwatches until the turn of the millennium, and it's not gonna look small unless you have absolutely gigantic wrists. Even if a watch is "too small" it just becomes a bracelet, but if it's too big (like when the lugs stick out from the wrist) it looks flat-out bad. Just my two cents. Don't knock it until you try it. Smaller watches are more comfortable, too.

    Chinese watches seem to have made a jump in quality and prices

    • @HonestWatchReviewsHWR
      @HonestWatchReviewsHWR  2 дня назад

      @@doronbar1606 There's definitely been a huge jump in the quality available from some brands over the past few years. And obviously that means an increase in the prices... But you can still get some good bargains too. Some of which I tried to include in this video.
      Also let's not forget, that when compared to the bigger brands the quality is getting right up there now, but the prices are still a lot less though.
