    Ninja Nerds!
In this lecture Professor Zach Murphy will be teaching you about the neuromuscular junction, and the neuromuscular transmission. During part 1 of this series we will be discussing the action potentials carried by the alpha motor neuron, and the factors that play a role in the release of ACh, and the synaptoproteins involved with this process. We hope you enjoy this lecture and be sure to support us below!

As a PhD student in muscle physiology studying and reviewing this stuff in preparation for my PhD defense oral exam, I can say that this information is expertly prepared and presented. Magnificent job here! Really looking forward to the second part.

I think I will release some Ach into the synaptic cleft to open my ligand gated ion channels to allow Na+ to enter my fiber cells and cause my Ryanodine receptor to open my sarcoplasmic reticulum allowing Ca+ to release and bind to my Troponin- C which changes the shape of Troponin- T causing my tropomyosin to move away from the active site of my actin allowing my myosin to bind to my actin which pulls my thin filaments using power stroke to finally get over one another
Which allows my palm and forearm muscles to contract in a way that moves my finger towards the like button and clicks it...

I'm honestly trying to figure out how he is able explain so much complicated and complex information in a way that is so understandable. It's one thing to be smart and understand material, it's on a whole other level to be able to share that information with others in a way they can comprehend easily. I have watched several videos from Professor Zach Murphy, and they are all fantastic. I'm taking neuroanatomy and physiology right now and these have helped me tremendously. Please don't stop and thank you!

Meanwhile everything is happening at the same time. Acetylcholine synthesis is happing while calcium ions come inside the synaptic bulbs. And also acetylcholine is being released by calcium and snare proteins. So everything is happening simultaneously. You explained it really nicely. Appreciate your efforts and hard work for those who don’t get enough medical knowledge from actual school. Hats off 🥳

Another great video! When the Na comes in, does the K come out as in the 3/1 ratio, still creating the + charge inside, or in this case is just Na? Also, what inhibits these ion protein channels as we know genetically, such as in CF when the Cl channels do not work, so these are acquired channelopathies. So my 2nd question is, can heavy metals such as Al, Hg, Pb, Cd, and chemicals block or inhibit these ion channels...
