As a PhD student in muscle physiology studying and reviewing this stuff in preparation for my PhD defense oral exam, I can say that this information is expertly prepared and presented. Magnificent job here! Really looking forward to the second part.
I'm honestly trying to figure out how he is able explain so much complicated and complex information in a way that is so understandable. It's one thing to be smart and understand material, it's on a whole other level to be able to share that information with others in a way they can comprehend easily. I have watched several videos from Professor Zach Murphy, and they are all fantastic. I'm taking neuroanatomy and physiology right now and these have helped me tremendously. Please don't stop and thank you!
I’m with you sis! First year medical student and I am so grateful for ninja nerd lectures. I find myself recalling concepts he covered during class or exams. The way he explains is so much easier to grasp than my lectures
I think I will release some Ach into the synaptic cleft to open my ligand gated ion channels to allow Na+ to enter my fiber cells and cause my Ryanodine receptor to open my sarcoplasmic reticulum allowing Ca+ to release and bind to my Troponin- C which changes the shape of Troponin- T causing my tropomyosin to move away from the active site of my actin allowing my myosin to bind to my actin which pulls my thin filaments using power stroke to finally get over one another Which allows my palm and forearm muscles to contract in a way that moves my finger towards the like button and clicks it...
Ninja Nerd You are really a Science Talented individual. You helped me to prepare my Neurophysiology exam and I hope this knowledge from you will contribute much towards my future career. Thank you so much for your time and hard work.
I can't thank you enough for these videos! My current A&P1 class is a challenge. Our class started with 24 students, over the last 3 weeks 9 had to withdraw. Our professor is very confusing and not helpful. If I manage to pass this class it will be because I found your videos. I have shared them with the rest of my classmates. Thank you again!
I can't thank you enough for these videos! They are such a great reinforcement to my professors lectures and my own readings. It helps me understand the material so much more and I am able to repeat it and teach it back to someone else. Absoutely love this channel as I am a pre-Nursing student going back for my ABSN at age 40!
Thank you for making science understandable and fun for this lady of a certain age, embarking on a new career in surg tech. That familiar PA accent is icing on the cake!!
You are incredibly gifted! There are a few people who are natural-born teachers and you are on that list. Thank you very much for your videos- I once despised physio but I find myself so glued, actually enjoying the lecture, and making several connections in my head. You are AMAZING!!!!
in my opinion, this is superior to dr najeeb's explanation. i understood it more here. don't get me wrong, dr najeeb's explanation is also superb, but his accent get's in my way of understanding the lesson more. thank you ninjanerd!
I'm here after watching the first two videos on muscle physiology on your channel, but actually, I came here for anatomy of the muscle but I can say this first two video has really helped me more and I understand it more. thanks so much ninja nerd president.
Meanwhile everything is happening at the same time. Acetylcholine synthesis is happing while calcium ions come inside the synaptic bulbs. And also acetylcholine is being released by calcium and snare proteins. So everything is happening simultaneously. You explained it really nicely. Appreciate your efforts and hard work for those who don’t get enough medical knowledge from actual school. Hats off 🥳
I wish I would have found these amazing video's sooner. The visuals and the way you break each section down really allows me to grasp all the information. I have a lecture exam next week and I know I will do well. I can't thank you enough!
Great video, I know understand what the issue was, when I recently had to suddenly call an ambulance for my flatmate, and then in the hospital it turned out he had a lack of potassium, which made his muscles not be able to tense up properly
I'm working on my M.S. in Biology w/ an emphasis in Education. I hope I can be half as an effective teacher as this guy. This channel is my go-to for physiology review.

As a med student, thank you for these videos. Very in-depth and not "dumbed" down, which I needed, especially regarding the specific proteins!
Thank you. I've learned more in the first 7 minutes than in the 1 hour I spent reading my textbook.
