Ninja Nerds!
In this lecture Professor Zach Murphy will be teaching you about the neuromuscular junction and go into detail on the process of excitation contraction coupling. During part 2 of this series we talk about resting membrane potential, endplate potential, action potentials, and the release of calcium from the sarcoplasmic reticulum. We hope you enjoy this lecture and be sure to support us below!

" Cause that's what you get in Ninja Nerd Science" LOVE IT!!!!!
YOU GET E X T R A
Great video! Since we all are ninja nerds, another thing: it takes 2 molecules of ACh for each nicotinic receptor. And ACh always binds in the alfa protein of the channel.
thank you for this information you wanna say that 2 molecules of ach are required to open each nicotine receptor
Thanks for sharing!
Literally no one
Ninja nerd : see this cute little thing out there , that's a very very imp protein and that's the 2546th protein in this video
I cant thank you enough for these videos!! I learned more from you in the last 3 videos than having spent 3 weeks of sitting through my physiology class. Hugs! 😊
Saving my degree, one video at a time ;D Thank you!
People like him should be supported as much as possible
By the time Zach finishes telling the interesting story, some of the very complicated concepts in medical science is crystal clear and his quick recap, help us keep the concept alive in our hard disk
The best videos on NMJ that I've found (and I've been through a dozen). Thank you for this comprehensive lecture. You taught me more than my Professor.
Who had the nerve to give this a thumbs down?
Dr. Najeeb
@@RepaerTool YES😂😂😂
Lol nerve.
Dr Najeeb is a legend , the only thing i don’t like is his accent , while this guy speaks much clearly
Legend has it his son did
thanks a lot bruhh , as a medical student we have lots of things to study but your videos really helps a lot to save our time and clear all concepts and cove each and every perfectly. its better than reading any books ..... keep it up man
one day i would wanna teach the way you teach!!! . amazing teacher you are :)
Great work man! Yours are one of the best videos on YT on these topics. I would add that in order for the nicotine receptors to open, TWO molecules of ACh need to bind to it.
You are the BEST! You are truly GIFTED! Please keep doing more videos especially about neuroscience and neurology. MANY THANKS.
I can't Thankyou enough for how well you teach, I literally come here after all my physiology classes because this is your language 👊👏👏👏👏Be blessed.
Loved this guy! He has such a passion in every lecture he makes.❤️
What an amazing teacher! Wish every teacher taught like you. Cleared all the concepts.
I FINALLY UNDERSTAND THE SARCOPLASMIC RETICULUM! PRAISE ZEUS! AND THE GUY IN THIS VIDEO!
Yes, my brain hurts, but I will have a much better recall and understanding this semester and can hope for another high distinction this semester! This is way more useful to me than textbooks and droll lectures. I'm so grateful for RUclips because this stuff wasn't around when I was first studying this stuff!
Thanks!!!!

I love Ninja Nerds! Shout out to all Ninja Nerd team!
You helped revising my lost concepts
U are a perfect doctor!🌍
I can't believe this is free. Thank you so much from a struggling college student!!!!
Excellent job. That type 1 nicotinic receptor you mentioned actually has an epsilon subunit rather than a gamma subunit. The gamma subunit is located within the first type of extrajunctional nicotinic receptor.
+1 on this, although as always another excellent production! The receptor described in the lecture with a gamma subunit is a fetal nicotinic receptor, which functions slightly differently from the mature receptor. The fetal receptor can proliferate outside of the neuromuscular junction and pop up anywhere on the cell membrane as a result of certain conditions. In addition, they are more sensitive to depolarization and the channel stays open longer. This can be a life-threatening issue in response to certain drugs like for example succinylcholine as massive amounts of potassium can leak into the plasma due to the abnormal kinetics of the channel.
Hoping it makes sense? You are blowing my mind!
I feel like giving you a big hug right now. 🥺 Thanks very much!!!
I don't skip ads because I can't give much back to him for the knowledge he gives
