Romania really is still pretty unspoiled, in places at least. We used to have European Brown Bears here in Scotland but unfortunately we shot them all.
Yeah, they were even all over the UK. Really special Romania I think....I know the eagles were gone in Scotland, but they got a new population from Norway, maybe they should do the same with bears from Romania, hehe
@@sandvenexplorer First , you have to reforest to highlands then it will be pretty easy to import bears from Romania since people prefer this to hunting them . There are too many bears and they go into towns and even big cities to the dumpsters !
I was in Brasov in 2001 and saw many of those bears in the dumpsters, was there for 3 weeks, saw bears every night. Not so many in 2019, I think they did something about that. I would love more bears in Norway, but they will not import from Romania...different DNA than our bears, but the population grows up here...I will be back to Romania for sure, great wild place
I was hiking with a troop of Scouts in romania 7 years ago we set up a camp on the top of mountain in the next morning i woke up on 6 with the grunts of a bear 20 meter next to my tent the camp leader says it was a dog but i was sure it was a bear because in the base camp a bear warning was issued i had rough nightmares the night before hiking
Go to Spain if you want to see wild boars. A lot of them. I was in Malaga area this winter with my motorhome and one spot close to city center I had packs of wild boar every night around my motorhome and my dog always started barking at them. Saw them couple times middle of the day crossing the road.
Wow this is incredible! So amazing you got to see these beauties! Was this a tour group you were with. Maybe you said, but i missed it. Would love to know how you made this happen!
A group, if you are in the area there is plenty of info at the travel agencies, and you can also google info like "bear watching Brasov" etc, you will find it. Very easy and a great experience. If you want to do this in Finland for example it will be much more work and more expensive..
There are far too many bears in Romania, several times the ideal number, the bear is territorial and serious problems have arisen due to the abnormal protection laws for these predators. In recent years, dozens of people have been killed or seriously injured, tourists, shepherds, farmers...
Thanks, do not remember the name of the place exactly, but close to Brasov. like 45 minutes, If you google bear safari Brasov there are companies who take u there. The dead horse is a story I heard, happened a while time ago. No additional info there...But it happened.
There is a travel agency near the square of Brasov, if you find it they may help you, they focus on adventure stuff, but they might still offer a different hide, thats all can say really, the agency is near the square and near the gondola too..
@@sandvenexplorer not so scary. They usually run as soon as they hear noise. There aren't too many cases of bear attacks on trails. The chance is still there, I agree, but based on my meetings with them, they run real fast in the other direction from you.
I travelled around Transylvania in 2007. Once, I camped on a camping site (!) in Rasnov; a bear was looking for food between tents during the night.
I want to see them in Romania . Dont hunt🙏🙏🙏
@@bhargavdave7754 it’s illegal to hunt bears…
@@Qwerty1637i yes I know. Even I want to see them. They should be protected

European brown bears, basically the same bear as a grizzly
