The Tiny Bear cub was downing while swimming & Mama bear didn’t see him drowning. When she got back to find him, he’s already drowned. Poor Tiny & it’s was heartbreaking for mama bear to keep searching for her cub.😢

We usually see 806 only in July. She and her two remaining cubs were doing well when we last saw them. Father bears don't participate in the rearing of cubs.
I didn't start watching till this year. Omigosh, this is so heartbreaking. Poor mama just kept looking and listening and sniffing. I'm so glad I didn't see this when it happened. It would have been more heartwrenching. So, so sad. 😢💔
The Rangers found the cub's body--right where it landed at that island. Hard to imagine Bear 803 was searching for it. Rather--having found it dying right there--couldn't understand why it wouldn't follow along. Panicking then, as it were.

So sad. RIP baby bear. Not sure why Mom coaxed baby into the water when she could tell it was weak and sick. It could barely stand and walk on land let alone tread water. Instead that the conservation officers couldn't have intervened. Taken the Cub to the refuge to be rehabilitated. I have just spent the last month of my life syringe feeding a small kitten that had no From its mother. He was a 3rd of the size of the other 6 kittens. And they were pushing him out of the way and he was not allowed to feed. When I was at my friends. But as he was limp and cold. I went to the vet and got some kitten formula and started surrendering feeding him right away. He preked up within a couple of days of having nutrition and hydration. Sometimes us humans have to interfere with nature to help it along. But I was able to help hes a beautiful little Kitty a month later. I think we need to do our part to help the animals. To point to the conservation officer didn't step in.

Wasn't that tiny bear swimming passed and to the right, when mom and 2 babies started going left on 3rd far strip of land, but tiny bear could not get out of water. Mom even comes towards 2nd piece of land looking for tiny bear and if you look back behind mom around dirt spot, you can see tiny bear head still in water?
This is brutal. Please rename this video to "The Tragic Story of Tiny Cub," place a content warning about cub death at the beginning, something to warn the viewer that this is not a happy story. I was trying to cheer my partner up with cute and heartwarming videos of bear cubs and now we're both bawling. I can appreciate that this is a part of life and that the natural word is a tough place to exist, but the RUclips algorithm can't tell the difference between this and some suoercut of cute cubs because the title isn't accurately describing the content.
The mother bear most likely had no control over the cubs sickness. But she did have control over whether or not the cub got lost. He or she was clearly struggling to keep up, yet she neglected to keep him in sight on far to many long stretches, both water and land.
Bears are still animals, not human. No matter how clever they are, they can’t think & rational like human. She had to go find food for herself so she can produce enough milk for her cubs plus training & teaching her cubs to swim so when they grow bigger, they would need to catch fish for their own food. Being a mother of 3 cubs are too handful & harsh on her in the wildlife already.😢

Dear Ranger, I wish you could have saved Tiny Cub. I saw a show where Russian fishermen saved two Cubs in the middle of a large lake and they brought them to shore. I'm not a ranger, just a bearcam watcher. The rangers at Katmai NP do not intervene for any bears unless the bear is sick/injured due to human behaviors. It is sad. This cub was just to sick to make it.

But in this case, it could have very well have caused problems for the other two because Mama was distraught and distracted with the sick one. It's not hard hearted or cruel, it just is.
@@angelagoode7224 It's not as simple as you seem to think, and not just for the prime directive. In fact, by far the worst danger that grizzlies are exposed to is getting habituated to humans. They need their natural instinct of avoiding humans in order to be able to survive in the wild. A habituated bear is almost a dead bear already - it will get into more and more conflict with humans, and ultimately, most habituated bears have to be shot dead. Consequently, you can't just take in a sick bear to an animal sanctuary, nurse it to health, and release it into the wild again. Such a bear would hardly survive in the wild but instead keep coming back to human settlements because it associates humans with food, thus endangering both itself over and over again as well as endangering many humans. Besides, survival rates of grizzly cubs are pretty low in the wild in the first place. In particular, young and inexperienced brown bear mothers usually have cub survival rates below 50%. So even if nursing sick cubs would be an option at all, which it usually isn't, rangers would be totally overwhelmed with work trying to save all the cubs that die every year. Don't forget that bear management is usually under-funded, even in national parks, and the rangers barely keep up with all the work they already have to do. Sadly, the majority of that work consists in preventing other human beings from being stupid around bears and endangering both the bears and the humans. That hardest part of bear management is usually people management, and there is very little room for being sentimental about a single dying cub, as harsh as that will unfortunately sound... 🐻😥

I love watching the Raw Nature in action. I think the WORST THING for MOTHER'S. BEAR TIGERS LEOPARDS HYENAS, ALL ANIMALS. IS THE FACT THAT THOSE STRONG POWERFUL MALES DON'T HAVE TO DO ALOT OF WORK TO FIND THEM AND THEIR CUBS PUPS BECAUSE THEY PICK UP ALL THERE SCENTS. THAT'S THE WORST PART FOR FAMILIES IN THE WILD
It was very sad a mother at the end is looking for her Cub but when the baby was swimming she was so far ahead of the baby and ignored the baby leaving him to his fate. But the baby was probably too weak from lack of food she should have spent more time nursing him She shouldn't have wandered off without him. It is very sad perhaps she is the 1st time mother.
The policy of the national park service is to not intervene unless it is human caused. There are several stories of when they didn't intervene and the bear survived and thrived. There is most likely nothing they could have done to save her.
There was nothing that could have been done to save the cub. Katmai National Park does not intervene unless the cause of the illness/injury is man-made.

The cub was last seen on a small island and the rangers waded out to check if it was there and it was. They assessed that the cub died of "natural causes." I'm not really sure what that means, but the cub was very small and maybe not strong enough to survive.
The mama searched for her cub for awhile but I think she realized she had died. Sometimes there isn't anything the mama's or we can do to save a cub. Only 50% of cubs survive.
My heart yearns to comfort all of them. Tiny Bear remains the angel of her family for life and beyond.

No, we don't know why she died. A few years back a cub died from canine adenovirus, so it's possible this cub had that.

That hardest part of bear management is usually people management, and there is very little room for being sentimental about a single dying cub, as harsh as that will unfortunately sound... 🐻😥

Yes, although it’s heartbreaking for us to watch the Tiny Cub died of drowning, I feel the pain of mama bear, but this happens a lot in wildlife - only strong cubs survive so they will keep passing on their healthy genes to the next generations. This is part of natural selection.
I love watching the Raw Nature in action. I think the WORST THING for MOTHER'S. BEAR TIGERS LEOPARDS HYENAS, ALL ANIMALS. IS THE FACT THAT THOSE STRONG POWERFUL MALES DON'T HAVE TO DO ALOT OF WORK TO FIND THEM AND THEIR CUBS PUPS BECAUSE THEY PICK UP ALL THERE SCENTS. THAT'S THE WORST PART FOR FAMILIES IN THE WILD

It was very sad a mother at the end is looking for her Cub but when the baby was swimming she was so far ahead of the baby and ignored the baby leaving him to his fate. But the baby was probably too weak from lack of food she should have spent more time nursing him She shouldn't have wandered off without him. It is very sad perhaps she is the 1st time mother.
question? why didn't the national park department or the people filming step in an help the cub?
The policy of the national park dept is they only intervene when it is human caused. There was most likely nothing they could have done for the cub.

The policy of the national park service is to not intervene unless it is human caused. There are several stories of when they didn't intervene and the bear survived and thrived. There is most likely nothing they could have done to save her.

There was nothing that could have been done to save the cub. Katmai National Park does not intervene unless the cause of the illness/injury is man-made.
Perhaps the siblings would not let him feed, he was hungry, he became weaker, smaller ...

How do they found out the cub died?
The cub was last seen on a small island and the rangers waded out to check if it was there and it was. They assessed that the cub died of "natural causes." I'm not really sure what that means, but the cub was very small and maybe not strong enough to survive.

So sad, a mother's heartbreak. Everything has feelings. Mom's don't call for their babies? Guess way too dangerous to try to help them?
The mama searched for her cub for awhile but I think she realized she had died. Sometimes there isn't anything the mama's or we can do to save a cub. Only 50% of cubs survive.
