@@brianbeyer7681while hiking I didn’t see any bears, because I was yelling every few minutes “hey bear, hey bear” they would hear me a mile away and run. Sleeping in my tent is a whole different story. I had one big bear, in the thorofare growling at my tent at 1 am, the roar was terrifying, must have been a few feet away. Another bear tried cut off the rope I used to hang my food, it succeeded but luckily for me it was the excess rope behind the knot, so didn’t get my food. Heard a story from a hiker who got charged by a bear while getting water from a creek, but the bear realized he was human and ran away. Fun times 😂 lol
Although this is an old video, this particular mother bear acted out of character. The cub wanted to share whatever she was eating, she was very rough, unusual.

Great Video Mark. Could you include the fact that you are using a long distance zoom lens. You are good to emphasize that one needs to keep back a good distance from bears but not everyone knows the safe distance nor the power of lens you are using to capture such incredible footage. Looking forward to more of your excellent videos.

The hump on grizzlies back isn't just pure muscle that develops as they grow as you suggest. It is part of the spine and that particular area has ribs like bone protrusions that the bears have at birth. This is their conformation which does help them dig aggressively and develop muscle at the same time.
Agree !! plus they will eat Poisons rotting to the Core that would gag a maget. they also have teddy bear ears and Grizzled Hair. Grizzlys are shorter stub nose except for Sows have longer nose but male boars having wide thicker heads . @@trafficjon400 "Why some call them brown bears when Black bears can be Brown bears also .Grizzly bear being named Brown bear can surely confuse a hikers understanding" - because grizzlies ARE brown bears! They are a brown bear subspecies, so it's valid to call them brown bears

I got a great idea. The next time you are out there and you see a sow with cubs, run up to her and hug her, or try to play with the babies. Show us how it''s done. That way if someone goes to katmai or yelllowstone, or glacier, they will know what to do if they bump into a griz. This guy is an excellent example on the benefit of cleansing the gene pool.
Thanks for your video. It's wonderful and being in blah, NJ, they have sick, horrible bear hunts and do not care about wild animals!! Bears, all kinds, are beautiful and wish people would respect that and leave them alone!! Thank you!
If you let bears go wild they will eventually move into human territory and eat you!!!! Shouldn't hunt for fun, but if the population is too large you either have to relocate, which is expensive and doesn't always work or hunt and kill.
Make no mistake! Having your windows down during a bear crossing is not recommended. They can smell food and just because you see one bear crossing in front doesn't mean you see the other bear. Roll your windows up!

Grizzlies are a wonderful animal, although they are a constant deadly threat to ANYONE that is on foot anywhere in the northwest and Russia.
