    Another additional note: The man that was the frontman for the press and had close relations with Natalee's family in the dutch investigation was named Peter R. De Vries. He got killed earlier this year by being shot in the back of his head while walking through the streets of Amsterdam because of another investigation he was a part of into a big crime ring. Peter R. De Vries got Joran's confession on tape due to an undercover agent. Sadly the tape wasn't admissible. Peter R. De Vries never stopped fighting for justice even though he knew about the danger he brought himself in. Most Dutch people know about him, he's a household figure. Just wanted to share his name so we don't forget that even though there are bad people in this world there are also many great people like Peter.

      One time in high school, two of my cousins were hanging out at my house with me while our parents went to my aunt's house right down the road. We were outside and a car came around and one of my cousins started talking to the guys in the car. My other cousin and I hadn't met them before and they were acting like players. Before we knew it, our other cousin had hopped in the car with them and took off! I immediately called my aunt's house to tell her mom and she was getting worried because I didn't know names or anything, but then she turned up down there. Turns out she did know them from school and asked them for a ride down the road but didn't clearly communicate that to me or our other cousin. But for a few minutes there we were pretty scared, anything could have happened.

    Missing people in Aruba is extremely rare, and its a country that only depends on tourism. This is why the island placed so much effort in finding her, both because it was extremely uncommon and it will affect the "one happy island," tourism motto we have.

      Also, I’ve been to the island 5 times & I’ve always felt very safe. Arubans are so kind- like the afternoons I got lost when I got off the bus & couldn’t figure out how to get back to my AirBnB. A mom & daughter came by & asked if I was lost & gave me directions back to my AirBnB. There was only one AirBnB in that area at the time. They knew the white girl tourist had to be staying at this one place. Then I said “My friends son goes to this preschool” (where I got off the bus) and the Mom knew my friend & her son! That’s the Aruba I know & love!

Human traffickers probably had a boat waiting and the 3 boys lured her to the beach under the pretense of “going to see some sharks.” A young, beautiful, naive, and intoxicated tourist is a prime target for traffickers. • @ShadesAndBoots
      @ShadesAndBoots 3 года назад +564

      Taking high schoolers on trips, even abroad, isn't new but the lack of supervision I think reflects on the tax bracket these kids were in. They probably were very use to having long leashes and were considered "responsible" enough to drink and party and socialize independently. Which led to grave consequences in this case.

    • @ThingsILikke
      @ThingsILikke 3 года назад +67

      Some parents don’t let their kids go to prom because of how wild the kids can get- I suppose this is nothing new. Apparently they catch a higher price in human trafficking than most other demographics

      Someone I know had the exact same kind of trip way more recently, and even then I didn't understand why schools or school organizations do the party trips either. Parents / local high schools are still scared to let seniors go on senior trips. Senior trips are pretty much non existent now in (atleast in mine / Natalie’s area) Alabama. Which I mean I get. I truly lost half of myself the day he passed. Learning to continue on, slowly realizing that he's never going to be by my side again, has been difficult, but I also have to be a mom to my son who is trying so hard to step up and be the 'man of the house,' because he wants to protect me, obviously. But I also think, deep down he's terrified that he could lose me in the blink of an eye, he had never experienced the loss of a loved one before this.
      Sometimes I break down alone in my car or if certain things trigger emotional memories, but I just try to keep building the life he and I planned, even if he isn't physically beside me.

Many think he's better than police, which it probably why he was executed earlier in 2021 in broad daylight.
    He always denied protection because he'd have to adhere to all kinds of rules and "on bended knees is no way to live", and unfortunately they got to him. It seems to be all related to one crime-ring being under investigation & prosecution, but innocent until proven guilty.

    In my personal opinion, based on Natalee’s body never being found and the constant dead ends when it comes to suspects or clues… I personally believe she was either kidnapped or sold into s*x slavery. She was a young girl that was beautiful, left either alone or with three young guys, separated from her friends, intoxicated, potentially on a beach, and was never found again. Joran’s story about trading her into slavery for money makes the most sense to me since her body was never found on the island or in the water and they spent over 2 months searching for her. Unfortunately with Natalee’s case, the media will never really know what happened to her, nor will her parents. That fact alone breaks my heart.

      In aruba it's not like there are sharks at bay , there are some like small sand sharks at where they supposedly were but not to the extent of the story the way it was told , in order for the shark theory to be true it would have been to take a boat and went out far ( that would have been also with a perdon that knows the water and knows where sharks are )
