As a kid, I'd lie on an air-mattress on the garage floor with the door opened, listening to the rain (plus getting a bit of splash) and watching the 'fireworks' until falling asleep.
Loved it then, love to imagine it now.

When I was young my grandma had a house by a lake. The porch had a tin roof, so I’d always go out there during a storm. It was just so relaxing that I eventually came to love storms because of it. The lightning was always a huge wow factor for me, and I remember watching it dance across the sky when I’d sit out there. If it was still storming when I went to sleep I’d have the blinds open so I could see the sky, and the bedroom I slept in was the closest to the porch I could still hear the rain on the roof. Whenever I get a house, I’m making a tin-roofed porch a necessity.
@@davidpotts7116 Wife and I had awnings fitted outside the bedroom windows and spec'd that we wanted them to amplify the rain-fall sounds. The vendor (surprisingly) said most folks want the awnings to muffle the sound, but he'd make them very 'tight' at our request. Very happy at the result.
We don't get many T-storms in coastal CA, but I love it when we do.
That was very nice of him to do that for you guys. I can get why people might not like the sound of rain though, especially since white noise can be a huge sleep deterrent for some people.

I listened to this every night I was in the hospital for chemotherapy. It relaxed me, made me feel at home, and blocked out all the voices and bad stuff going on. I appreciate videos like this
