I can hear you in your father's voice and his voice in you.....That is truly special! My father is 91 years old now, and certainly not able to do this type of work. However, I hold on to great memories of doing exactly this type of hard physical labor with him right at my side. He taught me everything! ❤️

You know what would be a big improvement on this unit would be to eliminate or modify the upper guard on the side towards the conveyor and weld a small sized splitting wing onto the main wedge. This would speed things up considerably on these larger rounds.
Love the work. Keep it going, Buckin! I am feeling the love.

If that wood goes away back your truck under the conveyor. Just have to stack in the truck or not. We do that with our dump trailer. Not being lazy just working smarter don’t handle it twice. We have a Dirty Hands no conveyor. When it comes off the splitter it goes in the trailer or truck. Took us to many years to figure that out but we did. Thanks for the show and spending time with your hard working dad. I see where you get your work ethics from.

Buckin', it is great to see you and your dad working together. Satisfying .
I have seen other people use Axis and there is an adjustment for stopping the cylinder from going higher for shorter wood. This would save a little time. Keep having a great time in this thing we call life.

As much fun as hand splitting is when you have nice straight wood, it’s a blast when you can get in a rhythm with your machine and really make the wood fly. It gets to the point where you’re so focused on what’s in front of you that in no time flat the pile of split wood is massive! Love to you and the family buckin❤️ you’re doing wonderful things with that splitter

Hey Buckin! If you hook your rope up to your lift table, then crank your conveyor down half way, and run your rope up and over and secure it to the conveyor. you can crank the conveyor up, such that it lowers the lift table down to exactly where you need it, to put the pin in. Stand Up And Buck !!!...

Good job! A couple of thoughts...
Watching you fling pieces behind you with your right arm (assuming you're right handed) I wonder if it would be better (for right-handed people) if it worked in the opposite direction with rounds coming in on the left and the conveyer belt on the right. Easier to move the cut pieces with your right hand.
A groove (or even better a slot) at the back of the bench would help reduce the small stuff building up. With a slot it could fall to the ground out back, out of the way.

Austin Atkins - I made a few axes of different types, for me and my 10 year old twins. The free wood I get in the UK never or rarely splits nicely, and I’m talking about Birch and Spruce. Birch is twisted like hell and Spruce is full of knots. So I use a domestic type SIP 7 ton vertical splitter, which saves much time and effort. Happy splitting now 😀
