    I started out putting a raw egg on my dogs dry food and giving my girl a slice of raw chicken or beef when I was cooking dinner, or I would give her freezer burnt meat.
    I eventually switched my girl to full time raw (frozen commercial raw) because it cleared up her allergies, but even when I was using it as a topper it helped her out a lot too.

    I think it would help if you included in your FAQ where you went to school for pet nutrition. I've seen comments from people who do not think you are actually formally educated in what you're talking about. Also when I tried to show my mom your channel, she immediately asked where you got certified and I couldn't give an answer. I think it may even be a good idea to just make a short video discussing where/when you went to school for pet nutrition(maybe even explain a little bit what a pet nutritionist does)! I think that would help a lot.
    Fyi, i personally really like your channel. I've been researching dog nutrition for years (just on my own, but it's a hyperfixation of mine) and so I know my opinion isn't that important since I'm not formally educated, but everything you've said about dog food regarding commercialized pet foods and what look out for is everything I know to be true.
    Anyways, haven't even watched your videos on raw diets yet but plan to as I'd really like to start incorporating raw into my dogs diet! I know it's the best option for them, just seems daunting. I'm afraid of messing up and them not getting all the nutrients they need!

Long journey for them to fully accept it. My biggest fear is are they getting the correct nutrients in each serving. Seems impossible when I am making big batches and trying to incorporate it all through the bulk. Can you suggest the best way to make sure they are getting everything they need. I am limited to monies, so it is important I spend it on what I absolutely need for them. Hope you can assist me with the right path:-) Best and Warm Regards, Lois Lane

      @@andersonfamily9942 Right now he’s rotating between Steve’s pork and beef. He gets 4 patties per day. I also give him raw smelt, dried herring, raw turkey necks, raw duck feet, and a few kinds of treats (he likes the acana duck and pear ones). Herschel was not a big fan of kibble but would eat low quality kibble (like Royal Canin). He HATED orijen kibble - was a struggle to get him to eat. That’s when we made the switch to a raw diet, and now I never have to worry about him finishing his food.

    • @TheTattooedDogTrainer
      @TheTattooedDogTrainer  2 года назад +4

      There is certainly a limit to what is considered a healthy amount of organ meat. If you are feeding them primarily as treats, which should only be making up about 10% of your pet's diet, then it is not too much of a worry. Mixing it up and adding some of their chicken breast or fish treats will help to break up a liver-heavy treat pouch and add some more variety.

    Hi! I am so glad I found your channel!
    It's been super informative so far, I am a dedicated cat mom and I used to give kibble (edgard and cooper or Lily's kitchen) can food (gourmet or lily's kitchen) and raw food as the main meals for my cats.
    One of my beloved cats passed away and ever since then it's been a bit of a nightmare with my other cat when it comes to nutrition, she adores kibble and refuses to eat canned or raw which she had before. I think she is just really picky now, and while I believe I give her a good kibble food I would much prefer to feed her a more balanced diet, will you consider doing a 'picky eaters' video in the future? thank you!

    So just add the raw to the kibble instead of a full serving of freezed dried raw?

    Also, the other question was how much should she be eating per day? She probably weighs about 50 pounds maybe a few pounds heavier than that she’s very fit I just want to make sure I’m giving her enough per day.

    I go to the market and buy the cheap cut meats ( breasts, chuck, etc). I’ll semi cook the meats with veggies and mix it with quality kibble. It’s way cheaper than buying raw dog food online and only requires time.

    Is it possible to incorporate raw food, dry, and wet food into a cats diet? If so, could you do a video for people who would like to try out raw food and how balance all types of food without harming the cats digestive system? Thank you!

    • @hukhh3145
      @hukhh3145 2 года назад

      for sure! i would start super slow (less than a teaspoon). You might need to mix it with wet or dry to entice your cat to eat it. as long as theyre all complete you shouldnt have an issue with a combo not being complete

      As long as the cat is monitored to prevent potential choking hazards I don't see why not! I have a friend who gives there dog a frozen/thawed mouse every time he feeds his snakes

    Is adding water to dry food okay if we don't have easy access to goats milk?

    • @TheTattooedDogTrainer
      @TheTattooedDogTrainer  2 года назад +1

      Absolutely! Adding moisture to your pet's diet is the most important, what you add for that moisture is secondary.

      I would add enough to float the kibble a little hit and then let the kibble sit in warm water for a few minutes to soften

    Is there some reason you have to add raw bones and meat from a pet food company? Why not just supplement with human grade meat and ordinary bones from the butcher?

    Can’t agree with raw goat milk, no mammals should have milk after weaning including humans, also raw beef bones are great for dogs. I get them from the butcher freeze them and my dog will spend hours trying to eat them which they are so hard they cant but keeps them happy eating bits of raw meat on the bone and getting the bone marrow from the center.

      @@KindCountsDeb3773 the way my dog ate bone before was crazy she always want too much of everything she can't get enough she eats fast. and idk how she does it but she almost choke on them she takes it a part and by the time i look she is on panic mode. That's why for me it's not a option she does better with bully sticks but i watch her like a hawk when she eats anything bone related. And what's also weird is her stomach can't handle most foods or bones she throws up from almost every food i took her to the dr's multiple times no one can tell me why. She is allergic to chicken and beef she is so picky she's not like other dogs like when she hungry she will eat what ever u put out for her, nope she eats what she wants i tested this out too the dr was laughing I'm like yeah its funy but not funny when she throws up every 4th day from something LIKE i like check the canned food for harmful ingredients i make sure the kibble is safe i cook her food then i also sometimes her raw just so she can teste all her options.
