I've been really enjoying your videos! I watched the goat's milk vid and have switched my dogs from a dollop of yogurt everyday to the raw goat milk. I was able to find it at a local pet store. I still feed kibble but I top it with a scoop of homemade dog food that a mixture of beef or turkey, liver, and a variety of veggies. And I keep canned food on hand for those days when I've run out of the homemade food.
Thank you so much for loving these precious fur babys and dedicating your life to teaching and helping these precious creatures and the people they own lol 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thank you for helping me better feed my girls ( Frenchie, Yorkie, and Shiba Inu mix), I want them to stay healthy and be with us as long as they can be and proper knowledge in how to feed them well is key! Its amazing how I thought I was well prepared working for a vet, and I was clueless on some of the issues with food and ingredients. You are a Queen! I thank you
My vet was trying to get me to switch my girls food, which I currently feed raw freeze dry plus my own veggie purees. I don't understand why many are so narrowed minded with feeding them raw. Even tho their bloodwoork comes out great every time ! Their eyes, coats and skin are shinny and healthy. They always try to sway me to Science Diet. I was so happy to see pumpkin puree mentioned!! I freeze it in silicone molds for my pup, and put a blueberry in if i have them on hand. She loves the crunch, and I love that she's getting some good fibers in! lol sidenote: this is the dog that will beg for green beans off my plate.
Really cool that you mentioned the pumpkin puree. My boyfriend and I had never heard of it before until we adopted two cats who, we discovered later, had coronavirus (the feline kind which turns litterboxes nuclear). It was something that was easy to give them, because they thought it was a treat, and it really helped lessen the symptoms they were dealing with while we got them some proper treatment. Now, years later, they still go crazy for it!

I'd like to know more about making fully homecooked/raw meals for dogs. Do you need to add supplements to home made meals for dogs to get all their vitamins/minerals/enzymes???
for cooked, yes. when foods for dog are cooked, the important nutrients get lost. for raw, no. as long as you meet the appropriate ratio. 80% muscle meat (chicken breast, beef, etc.). 10% raw meaty bones (chicken necks, legs, wings, duck necks etc.) 5% liver, (3% if from beef or goat) and 5% secreting organs (pancreas, kidney, etc.). Do not take this as your only source of information. Do your own research and plenty of it because if you dont do proper research your dog can die. I recommend The Primal Pack here on yt for raw info. Good luck.
Great to see i made some good decisions and alot of things to add, cheers! :)) i feed my Bully/Pitbull mix about 40 %Taste of the Wild Salmon flavour + 50 % raw ground beef and the other 10% usually some shredded carrot and sliced apple. Ill also add the ocasional organic raw egg :) My puppy is 3 months old
GIRL! I started adding frozen raw (weaning her from kibble) pumpkin AND GOATS MILK to my German Shepards diet!!!! When I tell you my pup has never had a better coat and no more stomach issues, I just am so grateful for channel and advice! My sweet girl is so happy now!!!
Thanx 4 the advice .. I’ve got a 12week old GSP and for 6weeks he’s had runny poo when does it firm up? Is this normal? My vet gave me pro-Pectlin or how ever it’s spelled take 3x a day till gone and even tryin to transition his puppy food to another better option but it’s just messy soup any advice. He seems fine still drinking eating playing so I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong.. does your pup have any issues to chicken or runny poo ? Thanks and happy new year!☺️
Glad to see this video. I understand your position on kibble. However, realistically when you own a big dog it’s very difficult to only feed premium dog food. Just adopted a dog from a shelter. The 40lb bag of Iams they gave me is a big help as there are a lot of up front costs. Glad to know more add ins I can use to improve the nutritional value.
Love your content, great guide to start. Would like to advice taking care while recommending somethings, pumpking is associated with nervous medical signs in some dogs. :3 keep going!
I love your videos! You inspired me to get my certification in pet nutrition as well. Doing it with Dogs Natural University as well :) Keep up the good work!
I don't feed kibble but cold pressed & like to add a little wet food, always chicken stock or bone broth & an egg in the mornings choosing to cook the white which destroys the avidin & serving the yolk raw really spikes the biotin for a super healthy coat & extra protein for lean muscle mass.
I tried the goat’s milk with my GSD. Gave her 1/2 of a quarter cup just to see. It gave her diarrhea so badly. What I didn’t take into account is she is on Nutrisource Element which already has a probiotic pack in it to help with digestion. With those two combined it really threw her stomach out of wack. So my suggestion is to check what kind of probiotics your dog food already has before adding more with goats milk. You could be adding too much. I will try bone broth next though!
Thank you so much. I always see ads for a healthier option, or various products claiming to be this or that. This helped me understand what’s what without having to rely on big brands to be truthful.
You are the channel i was looking for ! My foster puppy has such a sensitive stomach that i was looking for advice to boost the nutrients 😊😊😊 Subscribed !
Thanks to this channel, we've enhanced our pets food. Goats Milk and Bone broth, also some dehydrated dog food and raw once a week. The dogs are so happy! The cats are still all about that kibble. We're also getting off the RX diets and we're switching to Farmina.
One of my moms cats was a real self advocate you could say. He refused to eat plain kibble. He had to have kibble mixed with canned food. He's pretty spry today as a 14 year old. :)
Hi there!! I am so glad I found you!! In the past I was not aware of how horrible some dog foods are!! Seeing my vet told me to feed my dogs "Royal Canin" I know I lost my big Daniff (great Dane Mastiff mix) when he was only 5!! I attribute that to the garbage food! I since have gotten two sweet as can be great Danes, they are both a year old now and I currently feed them a mix of two dog foods "Wild Earth" mixed with "Gentle Giants" Salmon feast. I just watched your dog food video that I saw you judge th e food "Essence" I just ordered a bag from "Chewy" I will stop the "Wild Earth" because seeing I am feeding two giant great Danes that food is too costly where the Essence is a great food at a fair price. Plus I give my dogs the petlab probiotic chews and their hip and joint chews, plus I give them a "green lipped mussel chew" to hopefully keep their giant bodies healthy. Thank's for doing what you do... you are saving the lives of dogs!! Sincerely, Cynthia
Oh, I also wanted to mention I top their kibble with canned... I found the most amazing canned dog food brand called "Against the grain Nothing else" It is only meat in bone broth, no additives.. you should look them up and do a review on them.
OMG!! I watched your "goat milk" video and right after that I hunted down raw goat milk, I live in a rural town and found a lady on the next street over that sells fresh raw goat milk, My dog's love it, so do my cats, and I admit I have a small glass daily. My dog's allergies are way better.. THANK YOU Ms Tattooed dog lady!!!
Honestly what I've been doing for budget friendly upgrades is buying broth from the grocery store and then going on Amazon and buying a bulk container of freeze dried meats. And then mixing it into my puppies kibble. I use more broth than the meat because broth is cheaper. I also buy baby food when it's on sale but only the single ingredient or two ingredient ones that only have dog safe ingredients.
@The tattooed dog trainer I absolutely love your channel…. You make it easy to understand good quality video, You are doing dog and people a favor thank you, I will make sure I comment in thumbs up on every video
Thank you so much for this. It’s so difficult to find someone in favor of kibble toppers. Any way you could make a video about how much kibble and toppers to feed to dogs and cats? Once I move in a few months I’m going to be starting to feed them kibble toppers rather than just kibble
Thanks for this wonderful information! Pictures and captions (with the preferred brands) down below or by the side as you speak will be very helpful, especially for vegetarians and vegans who don't know much about meats. Thanks again!
Thank you for this great video! Just one question, how should we balance the topper with the kibble for picky eater? My dog may only eat the topper without touching the kibble too much.
I fed my cats and dogs Evolve for years until I bought several bags covered in mold. They did have a recall a few weeks later. I switched to Meridian which is no longer sold in my area. I occasionally cook meat for my dogs. They also get banana, apples, carrots and broccoli. I used to use goat cheese to put my dogs pills in. Do you feel the cheese is safe or even beneficial? Also is powdered goats milk beneficial? Does it still contain probiotics?
I just found your channel and love your videos! It’s so confusing looking online for the right thing to do for my dog. There is so much contradicting information out there.
hi could u please make a review for applaws dry cat food? i’ve been feeding it to my cats because it’s my most accessible option at the moment but i’d like to make sure i’m feeding them right
Great advice! Thank you! I currently feed my girls raw freeze dry- Visionary Pet food. What do think about this brand of dog food? It's actually not as expensive as many that are out there. A 12 pound back last us a bit over a month and the cost is 61 dollars for the bag. They do get bored easily with it. However I do make my own purees with broccoli, pumpkin, parsley and a little bit of coconut oil. They absolutely love it. The puree looks very similar to the Honest Kitchen brand. However, like you mentioned, it has too many carbs in the food. I buy organic veggies that cost me 10 dollars and prob last me 2 weeks or more after I puree and freeze the Xtra. The Visionary Pet Food is great because it has high protein with very little carbs.
I just got introduced to your channel and i already love it!! I was just wondering how much kibble to give daily and how many days a week should i put a few add ins to the kibble and how much?
What do you suggest for dogs that have a lot of food intolerances. My dog is intolerant to Chicken, Beef, Turkey, Pork, and Peas. I am usually stuck with salmon and lamb, but many things also have some kind of other meats added. It makes it very hard to get food for her.
Hi, I've been researching kibble more intensely for the last two weeks and your videos are a great help! I'm curious about the whole pea controversy in kibble. I'm curious as to why kibble is so high in carbohydrates. I'm wondering if beans and lentils are a little safer than peas? Is there a website for peer reviewed studies on various dog foods? Thank you for your time and videos :)
Could you make a video on how to make toppers for common budget brands that would boost their nutritional value? For instance: Ol Roy, pedigree, and retriever brands?
Hi! Love your videos!! Would you recommend alternating goats milk and bone brother every other day, as it can be expensive to use all at once. Will you still get the same benefits if you dont use it everyday?
Hello! Thanks for all the great info! Do you recommend avoiding kibble altogether? Should we just feed canned and supplement with toppers etc? I hear you say that kibble is made for the convenience of the feeder not the pet so I'm not sure if that means we don't need it all. Thank you
Hi! Thanks for the great info. Do you have any recommendations on Large Breed Puppy Food? Last time I had a large breed puppy (Neo) was 20 years ago and was told if I remember correctly high protein, but now I've been reading lower protein and calcium and phosphorus between 1-1.5% so that they grow much more slowly. Thank you for any advise.
Does pumpkin powder work for kittens? I got it for my cat and I want to use it for the two kittens I adopted since they have diarrhea. I was using canned cat food since that's all I have right now but they only have 10% protein and growing kittens need like 50% so I decided to buy kibble and then switch back to cans when they get older. I want to soak it in kitten milk formula for its benefits. They are already weaned since they don't cry for milk and eat canned food. These kittens seem only 6 weeks old. I only have adult cat cans and I want to use them to supplement the kibble which will be their main source of calories and protein. Kitten can food is extremely expensive for me right now at least the options I see on Amazon. The serving size for the dry food says 1/4 cup to 2/3 cup but I am afraid that might be too much for them in terms of carbs? Could I get your input on this like what do you recommend
Hi! and thank you for all the great info. I like to cook for my dog to supplement her canned food, she's on hills prescription WD. I know you're not a fan of the prescription diet but It has helped her but I do like to supplement it. My question to you is do you have a specific blend of spices and herbs that I can add to boiling water when I'm boiling her meat? Today I added Ginger, oregano and coriander. She ate it up in a flash!! Lol Thank you for your time and thank you for the amazing videos 👍
what brand of canned cat food is best healthiest of all ? what is your opinion ? also is there any raw canned cat food ? or raw cat food that isnt freeze dried or so ? looking for wet cat food more on the raw side if theres any please reply guys
Hi! Curious about your thoughts on what my vet said about goat milk messing with their pancreas and insulin levels??? Also wet food creating more tarter?
Do you have any thoughts on what kind of water to give your dogs? I've seen so many mixed opinions and just don't know what is right. I've been giving my dogs bottled water as the tap water here is really hard. But I'm not sure what is best for their health? Also would definitely love tips for seniors! Got a 11 year old chiweenie myself
Love your videos, I have a 4 month old golden retriever and I’m concerned about her growing to fast and my vet suggested a large breed puppy food. We plan on going back to raw once she goes through her fast growth period. Would love some suggestions, thanks
I recommend adding toppers as much as possible, and moisture to every meal! With puppies you will want to take it slow though to avoid upsetting their already less-than-stellar tummies
What resources do you recommend for learning more about pet nutrition? I'm a nutrition geek when it comes to my own diet and love monitoring my micros/macros, but I'm finding it hard to find really solid resources (beyond great educators like yourself on social media!) about a pet's daily macro/micro needs. I focus on starting with a base of high quality kibble and including what I know to be nutrient dense foods (I use all of these mix-ins 😺), but I'm always worried that I might be missing something!
what toppers could be left to sit out? my dog likes to graze on her food, she's never liked eating two meals, so i dont want to add something like goats milk that'll go bad. currently i just use salmon oil!
I need a video explaining how much I should put of each topper cause idk how much to put into her food and I am so careful about what she eats😂🥰I have a chihuahua
loveeee your videos 💕 I do have two questions: 1.) What type of bone broth should I use? I've always wanted to buy store bought bone broth but i always worry it's too much sodium And 2.) This actually isn't a question but since you said this list is only a short list of different types of toppers then I would loveeee if you did another video on this same topic with the other types of toppers :) I'm so glad that your videos are educating me to give my dogs and cats a happier and healthier life 💕thank you :)
I'm so glad to hear that my videos have been helpful to you (and I'm sure your pets are too)! I personally recommend either making your own bone broth or buying one marketed towards pets (like the Primal ones). Store bought bone broths do tend to be high in sodium, but a low sodium (the lowest you can find) is okay if you are unable to make/find alternatives.
Making your own broth is quite simple, I either use a bone from our meal or from the butcher, pop it in a large pot of water with a little veg of your choice bring up to a boil then cover & simmer for 12 hrs (we leave in the warming oven over night). Strain & decant when cool. You can strip bones of any meat & mash with any vegetables that are still solid with mush from straining & use as topper.
Do you have more videos on what brands of broths are good to buy? If not could you talk more about that and what we should look for when looking for a broth to add to their diet?
Hey! I was wondering if you could do a video on what to feed senior dogs. I have a maltese mix that is 10 years old and I want to take care of him as best as I can by giving him any nutrients or supplements he needs to live a happy healthy life!
I’m going to be completely honest, my family feeds kibble because it’s easy. My guardian is going through cancer treatments, my sister and I are both high schoolers with jobs. Toppers are so helpful with keeping our girl healthy without taking hours that we don’t have. This is SO helpful

Hi Tattooed dog trainer, thank you for making and sharing your videos! What is frozen Raw?
Love the video! Any thoughts on powdered bone broth and powdered goats milk?
How do we know how much to add to our cat’s kibbles? Thank you for this video! I just discovered your channel and am a new subscriber.
Thank you for your videos. They are very helpful! Do you think you can make a deep dive video of Hill Science Diet dog food and Merrick dog food?
Can you advise me is kefir is good for my dog, thank you.
Hi! and thank you for all the great info.
Lol
Thank you for your time and thank you for the amazing videos 👍

Hi! I am wondering what do you think of Acana wholesome grains beef recipe?
What is some of the more budget friendly $-$$ canned foods that you would suggest? And if my dog is used to kibble can I still switch them to canned?
1:36 Bone broths, even from organically raised animals, have very high concentrations of lead (Pb).
Thank goodness I’m not the only one who confused on which to give them
Love your videos, I have a 4 month old golden retriever and I’m concerned about her growing to fast and my vet suggested a large breed puppy food. We plan on going back to raw once she goes through her fast growth period. Would love some suggestions, thanks
Thank you! I just came from your tier list for kibble and am glad you have a video for recommended toppers!
GOOD ONE 👍
Thank dealing wish runny poo with my puppy what kind of pumpkin? Canned or fresh?
How do you feel about eggs into a dog's diet raw or hard boiled?
Eggs are awesome, I do both raw and boiled eggs. My boy love them either way.
Thank you so much for this content! Do you recommend adding these for every meal? Even for puppies?
I recommend adding toppers as much as possible, and moisture to every meal! With puppies you will want to take it slow though to avoid upsetting their already less-than-stellar tummies
What are your thoughts on open farm
What’s your opinion on simply nourish??
What would be frozen raw ? Any frozen raw meat like hamburger steak chicken?
How much topper should one add?
Is can food better to feed my dog instead of dry food?
How much of each thing should we add to the food? Is this ok for puppy’s too?
As a topper, should the bone broth soak into the food before eating or just be splashed on top right before?
Totally up to you/your dog's preference!
I have pumpkin purées, buuuut I’m extremely allergic to pumpkin ._. I love my fur babies, but I’ll use other options, thanks
Do you make your own bone broth or do you buy one? If you buy it, what do you buy or what qualities do you look for?
I like to put greek yogurt or kerif to my dog's kibble :)
How about scrambled eggs or even raw egg?
what toppers could be left to sit out? my dog likes to graze on her food, she's never liked eating two meals, so i dont want to add something like goats milk that'll go bad. currently i just use salmon oil!
How do you feel about “unkibble” dehydrated dog food
I need a video explaining how much I should put of each topper cause idk how much to put into her food and I am so careful about what she eats😂🥰I have a chihuahua
Can you do a review on Stella and Chewy’s puppy raw coated kibble vs. Origen puppy?
loveeee your videos 💕
I do have two questions:
1.) What type of bone broth should I use? I've always wanted to buy store bought bone broth but i always worry it's too much sodium
And
2.) This actually isn't a question but since you said this list is only a short list of different types of toppers then I would loveeee if you did another video on this same topic with the other types of toppers :)
I'm so glad that your videos are educating me to give my dogs and cats a happier and healthier life 💕thank you :)
In my grocery store, the pet aisle has Brutus bone broth cheap!
Do you have more videos on what brands of broths are good to buy? If not could you talk more about that and what we should look for when looking for a broth to add to their diet?
Would love to have you review Bones and Co and Primal. Love your videos.
What are some recommendations for canned dog food for a german shepard?
What about canned wild caught no salt sardines?
Hey! I was wondering if you could do a video on what to feed senior dogs. I have a maltese mix that is 10 years old and I want to take care of him as best as I can by giving him any nutrients or supplements he needs to live a happy healthy life!
Wow i will definitely put some topper for milo ! And look in goat milk and pumpkin :) new subcriber here so informative
