I think this song is about/related to Eleanor of Aquitaine. Her relatives & subjects were Occitane speakers who popularized Troubador culture.
She inherited the duchy of Aquitaine, which at the time was All of Southwestern France, origin of Occitane, from her Father at age 12. She was arranged to marry young King Louis VII & was crowned Queen of France.
They divorced after a failed crusade, when Louis became overzealous like a monk & she took the blame for not giving him a son. Eleanor then remarried the future Henry II of England, who was a decade younger than her, & was later crowned Queen of England.
She retained the Duchy of Aquitaine in her own name throughour her marriages & brought Troubadour culture & music to England as well.
She was said to be gorgeous, very intelligent, graceful, highly cultured, & sophisticated. As the grandaughter of a Troubadour Duke from Southern France, she definitely knew how to dance & have fun in social settings.
Naturally, being a woman who was considered too assertive & powerful in the period, people like Priests talked mad shit & spread nasty (most likely false) rumours about her sex life.

Everything speaks for it, the young man the Queen is in love with would be Henry II, who is ten years younger - the man she dances with and marries after her marriage to Louis VII was annulled. Louis, who did not want to accept the marriage between Aliénor and Henry would be the jealous King. Quan arribin els dies clars, eya
Per tornar a ser alegre, eya
I per molestar els gelosos, eya
    La reina vol mostrar
    Que és tan amorosa.
    Anem, marxeu, vosaltres gelosos,

    Ballem junts.
Però ella no el deixaria fer, eya
Perquè ella no necessita un vell, eya
    Però un jove gracienc, eya
    Qui sabria com reconfortar-se,
    La senyora encantadora.
    Anem, marxeu, vosaltres gelosos,
    Deixem-nos,
    Ballem junts.
    Qui la veuria ballar, eya
I el seu bon cos es mou, eya
    Podria dir, de veritat, eya
Que a tot el món no té igual,
    La reina alegre.

A good thing about Occitania is that, if they wanted to secede from France and create a People's Republic of Occitania they wouldn't have to change their flag.

The verses of the song are here interspersed with a 15th century instrumental Italian tune called "Trotto." (Not complaining. It works well.)

      @@M_Julian_TSP Fun fact : no
The earlier reference to this cross on the red background was at the insignia of the counts of Toulouse, it didn't appear elsewhere with that form prior to that and it only became associated with Occitan culture centuries later, especially considering that the insignia of Provence for example had nothing to do with it, it's verifiably something that appeared in the court of Toulouse and since the counts of Toulouse were the patrons of many Occitan artists, overtime it started get assimilated with Occitan culture as a whole, but this symbol started there and nowhere else
