This guy here is a very underrated guitar player; it's a shame music like his is very rarely heard in the mainstream, you seem to have comb the internet for it.
I will dig this gritty sound as long as I can. Thank YOU. My hearing gets worse, but my understanding grows stronger. I'm only 43, and I may be going deaf, but I will appreciate the songs and sounds that will take me into the future. You are spoiled (and dumb) if you don't grab your chance to listen to a talented man. Thank you Gary Clark Jr.
He totally sounds like Dan from the Black Keys on this... Nothing wrong with people making the comparison. Their music styles are similar, but clearly different flares. Gary Clark feels more old school blues, black keys (especially recently) are still very bluesy but doing more genre crossovers, almost pop on some songs. Love both artists. I listen to both on a daily basis. Clark's live shows are especially awesome.... Pop that on RUclips and I'm good to work for an hour.
Wobust No, they HAVEN'T!!!!! :] :] Just evolving more and more...! Every album is special and sounds different! We will never see another Thickfreakness or Magic Potion!! Plus, why would we want that..? A true fan knows that you don't want that.. Am I crazy or what!? lollz [:
I met this dude eating lunch today. Had no idea who he was. Looked him up after we parted ways; we talked for an hour. Had no idea he was of this caliber. Completely amazed.
saw this guy a Big day out in Aus and he was amazing, hadnt heard a single song of his before but i went to check him out, was totally blown away so sick live
The 'saviour of the blues' indeed. Its about time somebody decent came along , the product of hard work and passion id imagine.. .. A musician to make the likes of ol' howln wolf, proud. .. Good sh*t man, rock on!
It's nice to hear people say that. People were fighting on another Gary Clark Jr video over who are the best. It's hardly about that. It's possible to be 'and' not 'or. I just saw the Black Keys in concert this week and I'm a huge fan of both . Can you imagine being front row at a joint concert?!
This guy knocks me out. Love what he does. Hey Michael G., Best of luck with your hearing. I deal with tinnitus, and it can be a real hassle, sometimes. Hang in there, man!!!
Anybody that says anything negative about this guy is a big fat stinky hater. I know true talent when I hear it and Gary Clark Jr is my new love. LOVE LOVE LOVE. AND HE'S ON GMA!!
Let me give yall a little insider info on Gary. I grew up with him, he was first majorly influenced by Dr. Dre and the rise of Rap in the 90s. It wasn't until his sophomore year of High School that he started becoming infatuated with the Blues. The dude can do it all. Eventually he'll be producing his own albums without the constraints of Warner Bros holding him back.
Need some Blues after being dumped after 9 years, at least my best friend lucked out in that exchange. Damn, I'll never forget this Pandemic for so many reasons.
Are you sAying your girl left you for your buddy or you and homeboy can chill together more now since you no longer have a girlfriend? If it’s the latter of the 2 I can’t stand those snake ass dudes but if said girlfriend was super hot I might high five him in at a fucked up angle or something. Little does he know she is the proud owner of herpes simplex 2.3 and 1/2
Having seen Gary Clark twice I agree that the videos don't do him justice. Go out and see him playing in small bars and clubs throughout the country before hes playing in your states football stadium. Yes hes' that good. I've been to over a thousand live shows in the last 37 years and he reminds me of so many different players but at the same time he is unique
I need to get me that green bullet mic. I love the sound of vocals of that mic. Oh the licks being laid down on the six string is the epitome of groovy.
Its good to hear this sort of stuff,he puts so much into each song thats what i like about him,the band works well together too, hope he keeps going! :)
Thanks to Don Flack (CSI NY) for introducing me to this. Lovin' it! I'm left wondering if Eddie Cahill suggested the track for the episode -- his tweets show him to be a Gary Clark Jr. fan.
I was never a fan of this type of music but damn this is a good song I remember playing NFS The Run the night it released and this song was on one of the races and damn I was like this song is good
I saw this man on the c b s morning show yesterday and immediately became a fan! i am so glad these shows continue to introduce talented arists like this to the world because I would have missed out on all of this great music,
Sorry, I just have to chime in here - I cannot believe the ignorant race comments given in this thread. Some of the comments are appropriate - i.e. why don't more people hear about great black artists like Gary Clark, Jr.? - but since when did exceptional music have a color at all? This isn't about ethnicity, it is about marvelous talent and sound which speaks to your soul. Those of you who choose to focus on race, either positively or negatively, are completely missing the point.
Jerry Horton seems like you're the one focusing on Race.... that's the problem with this issue people find somewhere to talk about it anyway they can when they need to just let it die

Gary Clark he tha man man don't owe u thing baby
Has chops on his guitar, has the voice. The band is kick ass. He is not giving apologies, he's ready to roll.

Seen him at the History in Toronto(smaller venue) Rocked the place.....he's the real deal! 🤘
This guy here is a very underrated guitar player; it's a shame music like his is very rarely heard in the mainstream, you seem to have comb the internet for it.
Keep 'em coming Gary! Bring the blues to a whole new generation who sorely needs it!
From an old man that's seen some of the best, this guy is up there.
I concur!
Great complement.
Listening to musicians like this provides hope that music still has soul and conviction. Dang. Love it.
Just what i think look up ganstagrass new and ready

The blacks keys no longer sound bluesy. They have sold out to pop music.

Wobust it's not selling out if they enjoy the music they make, which they obviously do
Keeps to the roots. One of the few artists today who has soul.
