This was the first song I ever learned. I remember being in my early teens and screaming "DDAAAAAAAADD COME HERE! You recognise that?" He said "kinda", I was never more proud of myself.
You've got a great ear. Have listened to this a gazillion times yet missed some of Robbie's licks. Went back and listened with headphones and sure enough, there they were. Nice job on the solo. Smokin'!!! Btw, even though I am subscribed and activated the notification "bell", I'm no longer getting emails when you post new videos. Did something change with your channel?
Bill 1949: I have had the same problem with notifications for a longtime. None of my subscribed channels notify me via email. Fortunately I get the notification on my new iPhone.
Over the past few weeks, I've become intrigued on potentially learning how to play. Your videos have deepened that intrigue, and I was wondering if you'd have an opinion on a good starter acoustic for this 31 year old lefty beginner. I'd value any advice you may have for me. Thanks, these videos are inspiring. Looking forward to using them to learn, especially The Beatles.
This is amazing, you've really inspired me to learn to play guitar! I'm looking at an epiphone standard sg cherry at around £400, is that a good buy? Thanks
Are both pick ups engaged here ?? Thats an awesome out of phase tone sir. Do you have the push pyll pots wiring in here or are the the pick ups only wired to be out of phase. This is an amazing tone 🤟
That's through a Peavey Vypyr 100. But the out-of-phase tone comes from the Peter Green modification on the neck pickup. That's really the key to the tone.
Also looking to upgrade to a electric acoustic guitar. Looking at Taylor and Martin. Any thoughts? Are your guitars Gibson? I really appreciate your advice.
Jim Taylor makes some nice acoustic-electrics, but to be honest I'm not a big fan of acoustic-electric tones in general. I prefer to just put a mic in front of a regular acoustic.

And goes without saying, I just played the intro over and over
I think we all can relate to a moment like that lol
Great stuff JJ - I have three versions of this in commercial tab books and they are all over the place. As usual James James shows the way.
Still my favorite Doors album. Never get tired of hearing this classic. Well played as usual.
Great album. I think Strange Days is my current favorite.
Strange Days is double plus good.
LA Woman for me! or The Doors
Debut album is always the best. And this applies to The Doors as well
As Jim said...Play it, Robby Play it...that was great man.
Beachbum ShipwreckSilver Could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure he says "do it Lonnie, do it," referring to Lonnie Mack, the guest bassist.
I've always heard it as "Do it, Robbie!"
Ditto.....I believe it is" Do it Robbie, do it!" Only makes sense...after he says that....Krieger goes wild
Slayed that song man. Very nice playing. The band I'm in is covering this song and I will be using this video as reference. Playing is spot on

Bill 1949 Hmmm. I haven't changed any of the settings or anything.

Never a huge Doors fan but this and Peace Frog and Touch Me are great tunes! Guess I like their more upbeat stuff haha!
Does anyone know what amp he uses? Great cover btw 🤘🤘🤘
Reckon you liked that one! Know I did.

It really depends on your budget. Martin makes some affordable beginner level guitars now.
James James Thanks for your input, went with the Martin for about $350. Hopefully that gives a good sound to start without breaking the bank.
Dude. I thought I was at a concert. .oh yeah.
Great shirt lol!
You need some lyrics. I know you got some riffs.
Love the T shirt mate...Love your site...you are awesome...I'd give both nuts to be able to play like you mate..seriously I would
My 15-year-old self is really stoked by this lesson...Jk, this is still a great Doors tune. Thanks for this!
PERFECT FKINN TUNEE!!

I did the Peter Green modification on the neck pickup, it gives out-of-phase tones.
@@jamesjames9275 that is indeed a hell of a tone sir thank you so much for replying.

Love your videos. Looking to buy a electric guitar. Any suggestions for a entry to mid level guitar?
It probably depends on what you want to spend, but a MIM Strat is a great guitar for the money.
looking to spend 500.00 to 1000.00
I'd probably buy a used US Strat for that kind of money. They're pretty versatile.
