Not sure what you're referring too. I can't recall having any flashing images in the video. If you are referring to the camera shaking I have essential tremor so sorry I couldn't hold the camera still enough for you.

The cruise control just went out today on my 2012 Chevy Colorado. I make an 80 mile commute to work everyday. And 80 miles home. I'm constantly using my cruise control. I accelerate and decelerate more frequently with the cruise control then with the foot pedal. Lol. So this mornings commute is killin me. Thanks for the video. I'll be rewatching it and following along as soon as I get that part.

I hope it worked out for you, I know the struggle when you do a lot of highway driving for work. Hope the repair went well for you and you are back on the road! 👍🏻

I'll never understand installing a used part in a repair that's so labor intensive. If it fails again in a short time your right back where you started from. When you supply the free labor don't be so cheap on the parts.

Dale, I would say its a matter of preference and would be different for every situation depending on the vehicle. This truck had nearly 200k miles and was over 13yo, The clockspring for this vehicle runs $120-260 new vs a junkyard part for significantly less. If have all the tools available this repair shouldn't take more than 1 hour and a used part is way less. Yes it may break in the future but you learn a lot in the process and why the particular part failed and how to avoid it in the future. This vehicle was also totaled 6 months after uploading this video so personally I don't feel much of a loss compared to if I had I installed a new one. Again it's just a matter of preference.

@@noname-zq4sd no name, I agree with your reasoning 100%, adding your disclaimer beforehand would have been nice. All sorts of people will see and follow your video for repair purposes and it's nice to point out the value of their free labor as a means to buy and use quality parts in the repair. Hopefully, our comments will get people to think a bit before they plunge forward.

The part that the shifter connects to, whats that part called. I have a loose shifter and was wondering if theres any way to adjust that or does it have to be completely replaced. Thanks for any help you can give me.

How did you take the end off the multifunction switch. It seems like I'm gonna break it

Hey any reason you see why I couldn't plug in the multifunction switch and just leave it hanging there in order to test it out and see if that fixes the cruise. So to clarify I mean just unplug the old multifunction switch and plug in the replacement to test and see if that fixes the cruise problem... And if that fixes it then install it properly. Thoughts?

In the shop I work in I work parts but a lot of our guys do this for things like switches, just to verify it’s a bad switch before going through with an entire install, only thing is with some vehicles you won’t even get a cruise light on the dash if the vehicle isn’t moving
