Shades of Gray - A Value Study

In this plein air painting video I show you a technique for quickly achieving a sense of reality. By using one color, in this case Ivory Black, I capture a scene in an expedient way. Just using shades of gray allows me to concentrate on one aspect of the painting process, thus enabling me to capture the structure of the subject in a short amount of time. I highly suggest artists try out this plein air technique to see if it works for them.
