How to Paint Barns

- This video explains how I use brushwork to add interest to my oil painting in order to engage the viewer more. These two barns in this plein air oil painting attracted me because of their contrasting colors. They are both red, but from totally diifferent areas on a color wheel. When painting structures plein air, it's important to NOT waiver on taking the time with your draftsmanship. It will make all the difference in the final painting. Please share with your artists friends and give it a thumbs up if you enjoy the content.

Nice painting. I like how you showed the texture on the old barns.
Thanks Jim.I really liked the subtle transitions in the barn color when I saw them.
Really like this barn painting. The composition works well and I like your greens :-)
Thank you Larry. My plein air work has always been about trying to capture nature's colors.
I lime it. Well done.
Thanks Thomas
Really a great little landscape! That sky! Oh I will try your method, the result was a lot of movement! Thank you again. I really enjoyed it ☺
Wow! Thanks Deb. I'm glad it resonated with you.

as always a great video the Hawk...
Thanks 😊
Very helpful. Thank you.
You're welcome!
Thanks Bruce. I like this one. You mentioned that liquin can get a bit tacky to quickly. I have recently been trying out Gamblins solvent free gel. It drys faster but not near as fast as liquin.
Hi. Yes... I've here of that. Does it add some body to the paint as well?
@@habowskistudio2724 no, it makes it more spreadable like adding oil but no solvents and drys faster then using nothing but slower then liquin
Good job.
Many many thanks
Great work on the channel, Sir 🤘 Like the videos! Watching for awhile, never comment though.
Thanks 👍 I'm glad you're liking the content.
Great video I really like how it turned out. A windmill would have looked great where you put the pole but would have took much more time.
Nice Job!
Thanks so much for checking out the video. I appreciate your comments.
