Love to watch your painting demos. The barn painting was wonderful. I like your narration while painting that show problems and how you solve them.
Thank you so much!
Appreciate how you show the colour mixing.
Thank you!
Love your style, I’ve tried a few of your paintings, always learn lots watching your tutorials. Will definitely try this. Recently traveled to an area in Western Australia that looks just like this. Thanks for all the advice.
Thanks so much 😊
Sir,you are the best of best.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Gorgeous ♥️
Thank you! 😊
Unfortunately I missed the live stream, been following you for over a year and I can honestly say that you have helped me immensely. I travelled back home to Tuscany last fall sketching & lots of rolling hills. . My problem is shadows and choosing the right colours. Will you do this live on a monthly basis? Your style resonates with me very much. Thx 😊
Have you had a look at my Artists Live Channel? Its in the link and offers a lot each month 😊
Nice one.
Great result for such a short time! It is a pleasure to follow your paintig and it is also a source of inspiration for my next works. Thank you. - Franco
Excellent, thanks Franco

Thank you Rachel!

Lovely Happy Colours
Many thanks
Love the way you explain your steps in the painting. I need to practice using more paint on canvas. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Very nice painting
Many thanks
Learned so much! I’ve got to get more paint on my palette and my brush. Thank you very much😊
I'm so glad Ann, yes butter on the paint!
Looking forward to the demonstration. Thanks so much
Thank you Malcolm.
I'll be there.
😊
Looking forward to it.
Lovely piece Malcolm. I love how you talk about colours and temperature to explain as you are going. Thanks you. I have recently changed from acrylics to oils and loving them but still getting used to some things. Like trying to get a solid thin line with the rigger is difficult, may be my paints or brush. Does the course have a section focused on general learning about oil paints, brushes, substrates and general knowledge info about them? Thanks again Malcolm.
Many thanks! More about brushwork in How to Loosen Up Your Painting. Not much on mediums and equipment beyond that. I really try to keep things simple so brushes, paint and canvas are my three basics 😊
Thank you.
You are the best 👍
😊 thank you
Will go directly to a canvas and try to lay it on thick like you do. I have a tendency to be frugal with the quantity of paint I lay down. Therefore, I never have the liveliness of the brush strokes in my work. Thanks, as usual for the things you share.
Sounds great!
Malcolm, your merchandise goes to 404 page not found.
Glad to see this tutorial.
Are you in the USA? Due to restrictions it is limited to US visitors only 😒
Glad to see I can try this in Acrylics! Do you have a list of recommended supplies and paint colors you use? Thank you for the teaching and inspiration. 🙂
Yes you can use the same colors mentioned in the video. If you cannot get alizarin in acrylics then magenta works great too.
Many thanks for loading a great demonstration Malcolm. Enjoyed it very much. Just had a question. if I am trying to paint smaller shapes over wet paint sections. Particularly say, a farm animal or a person. I have tried a few brushes for this scenario, but it was (as you said in the video fiddly). Which is the best brush in your opinion to do this? - Small Long flat/Round/Filbert/Bright or rigger type?
In that example I am using a long flat #4. It's worn down a bit I guess. I use Long flats only except for a rigger for the little lines.
@@MalcolmDewey Thanks Malcolm for confirming. It is much appreciated. OK, so better to mainly stick with long flats.
Sorry for this silly question...do I need to register somewhere?
No, just click on the notify button above so you don't miss the start.
Is your painting is more like impression style strokes?
Yes, perhaps also called "painterly".
Where can I find the reference photo? Thank you in advance!
